so you make the dough, cover and let it rise for 1 1/2 hours. Than knewad out, shape and let rise for 1 1/2 more hours. And then you fry away? I wasn' too clear on this part.
when I became veg(no eggs) then vegan, donuts (along with ice cream and cookies) where one of the things I missed. thanks so much for sharing, will definately give it a try!
@payalpuchi there is never eggs in fondant. He did not cover them with fondant, but with vegan ganash. Ganash is chocolate melted in cream. Use soy/rice/almond milk instead of the cream.
The avoidance of meat is likely to reduce the risk of coronary artery disease, [heart disease] because meat is the major source of saturated fat... High consumption of red meat has adverse health consequences: thus vegetarian diets tend to impart health advantages. Dr WC Willett, Professor of Medicine, Harvard Medical School.
I am not a vegan but dont mind cooking vegan meals. A tip for vegan bakers, I saw a video the other day where molasses was added to dough to give it a smoother, buttery texture when you bake bread, cookies, or doughnuts. Enjoy.
Donuts...probably in the top 5 of things I miss from my omni days. These look fantastic. Those carob donuts you get from vegan essentials are not so great. I am glad I found something new to try!
wowee they look delicious! Just made your blueberry muffins and they are gorgeous with the fresh blueberries :) Would love to try the donuts but have no deep fat fryer. Could you use a pan to shallow fry them?
Well, you've turned the last one into an eclaire, but it looked delish before. I love doughnuts and I miss them so-I'm definitely going to have to try this....
lol did they taste good? will a non-vegitarian like it? I am vegitarian but the rest of my family isn't... so ya I need to know if they would like them to =D thnx!
I made these last week and they were DELICIOUS! I've been a vegetarian for two years and a vegan for one year and ever since I've gone vegan, I've been dearly missing donuts! I tried some vegan donuts I found at Whole Foods but they were gross. These were delicious and satisfy my donut cravings. Even my non vegan family loved them!
I was diagnosed with an illness that was caused by eating meat and fast food. It has been 3 months and I have been on an animal free diet. I can't belive all the kids of food that are avialable for vegans. Thank U so much this helps alot with my transition and really educated me about vegans. Tnank You. Q: I live in baksersfield Ca. were can I find a store with soy chese and alot of other vegan necesitys. am all about organic too. We need a store down here!!
WHOLE FOODS is vegan ingredient oasis. most soy cheeses have casein to help them melt so theyre not vegan. trader joes is pretty good too. most grocery stores have a lot of good stuff if you know where to look
this really helped me because i have an allergy to milk and nuts where if i eat them i die so this was great thnx veginity also anyone out there looking for a subsitute for milk or any byproduct of milk soya is goos it has everything milk has but is vegan friendly
These turn out to be absolutely delicious. I've made them twice and they worked out great each time. Everybody I gave some to absolutely loved them - I made powdered donuts, no jelly-filled.
xD i wasn't until about minute 12 that i realized the video is 14 nminutes long. i just got really into i. O.o these donuts look great. i want someone to make me some. lol ^_^;
I haven't had a vegan doughnut since I visited Melbourne and went to Vegetarian Orgasm. I don't know if I'm bold enough to attempt these but the demo certainly helps.
Chocolate Eclaires are made with a choux pastry and it actually gets cooked twice. once in the pan and then again when it gets baked off. And it uses eggs to bind it. It is more pastry than dough. Hench dough nuts shortened to donuts. hope you enjoy
Hi Faith. For this recipe i just used plain flour as its made more like bread than pastry and you have to develop the gluten to give it good structure. Hope you enjoy.
Amazing! Looks delicious.

Does anyone know what the volume equivalents are for the weights he uses for the ingredients?
To clarify, he gives most of the measutements in grams, how many ml is that?
indicomp 3 years ago
It's better to use mg for powders because when compressed their volume changes.
I don't know the ratio sry :p
