Ah, my auntie was one of the first residents in Harlech Tower does anyone remember the Octopus at the back it was built in bricks and the off licence where my big sister used to get her port from 'the wood' to have with lemonade she lived in the maisonettes had 2 sets of twins in the early sixties
I used to go out with a girl from there in the 90's...her block faced the railway at the rear. Also one of lads we used to kick around with in erdington was from there...happy days!!
I was born and brought up on that estate. So many of my "aunts and uncles" completely unrelated to me lived there also!
From this video I can see where they used to live now demolished, sad, but it needed it. The community spirit went years ago. I wonder if Mrs Bunn still runs the hall!!
It was a terrible estate for the past few decades. Not sure about Mrs Bunn. Thank you for your comments. I do think Harlech Tower is going to be demolished,but not 100% sure.
