  • I have to say that as wonderful as Valentina is, I actually REALLY enjoyed watching the timpani player get into the music. Brava!

  • Beethoven would have asked "How much 'schleppend' you want to have? This is an interpretation of our time and there is nothing wrong with it. Don't forget a slower tempo requires a more velvet sound of the orchestra.

Besides I appreciate her intentions to perform for a broader audience(thru internet) like Richter did visiting small villages(CCCP) to give life performances.

  • God speaks through great music and great musicians.

  • I'm getting the feeling she had too little time to study this properly. The tempos are fast and hasty and she misses too many notes for her level of playing. Critical as this may sound I'm still a big fan! And I play the piano too, for approx. 38 years..

  • maravilla!

  • This is NOT adagio!

  • I love it!

  • beautiful music

  • At 6:29 Beethoven is saying "I am coming to kick your ass...listen to this!"

  • I agree that its too fast, I think glenn gould did a good interpratation of this movement, although I love a lot of valentinas performances

  • 12 people can't get Beethoven

  • Excelente !!!!! Dicho en todos los idiomas....

  • Second movement is way too fast. It's completed in about 37 seconds faster than recordings that I have.

The first movement of the concerto is great.

  • beethovens music ist not from this but from his world. he is so omg. thx for this man

  • Mne kashestja, chto eto chut-chut slyshkom bystro...

  • Which is the orchestra performing?

  • Your piano playing is angelic.

  • WHO THE FUCK DISLIKES THIS? this is not jb fans or other shits just trolls

  • @desertricker 12 guys that were too horny to look what button they were clicking.

  • @PANDEM rofl

  • too fast

  • @trendyyy trolls are everywhere

  • The usual brilliant, sure-footed, heartfelt Valentina--you are wonderful!

  • Valentina is a great pianist but I don't think she realy understands the second movment. The third is played fantastic.

  • your gonna give yourself a back injury... and dont float your wrists so much like that!!!! it looks retarted

  • So beautiful, so moving. Cannot imagine that there exists another human being who could give this piece the magnificent life that Valentina breathes into it.

  • really nice work valentina, as always

  • a bit too fast for me...

  • why can beethovan always compose the beautiful works as this...

  • Classical music is my daily bread . Thank you for this video!

  • she is good

  • This music is so touching, after listening to something like this one could only draw the conclusion that Beethoven must have been such a kind caring soul.

  • as if pearls are playing, not hands

    very graceful

  • this is so damn shit, i would take death metal over this anyday

  • @theoriginalnoob1

Since when have retards been allowed to post comments on the internet?

Were you dropped on your head as a kid? Because that would be the only explaination for such a stupid remark..

  • Beautiful :)

  • W Beethoven!!!

    Wonderful Valentina!!!

  • QUE PERFECCIÓN LA DE VALENTINA LISITSA, EXIMIA INTERPRETE, INTERPRETA EN EL PIANO CON UNA TECNICA DEPURADA Y UNA FACILIDAD INCRIBLE, ME APASIONO EN TODO EL SENTIDO DE LA PALABRA.

  • This is my favorite Beethoven music and you play it so passionately! Beautiful. Thank you for sharing your great talents.

  • god it's so beautiful...this music is heavenly. thank you

  • Beautiful rendition but I agree , just a little on the fast side for me.

  • Compare this with Glenn Gould - Beethoven's "Emperor" Concerto 3/4.

  • WOW. SHE IS GOOD. She is....WOW. I LOVE IT!!!

  • way too fast....this is not Bethoven

  • I love this part of the concerto, particulary from minute 6:36 on!!!

  • For me this is quite a fast tempo because I think that the music needs to breath more and have more space between each note...more like poetry

  • This is why we were created, to bring passion, love and beauty to this world.

  • Is this in Sala Nezahualcoyotl, UNAM,

    Mexico City?

  • The World is a better place for having Valentina in it. So inspiring, Beethoven would be proud !

  • Dear Valentina Lisitsa I have a hard enough time being me, let alone being an imposter..

  • Remarkable. Right how I always dreamt of...

  • Admirable! I bow to you, Valentina. Usually, I admire male pianists, but you play with such power that is hard not to fall under your spell. You have a new admirer, Valentina! Thumbs up! Too bad the video was cut in my very favorite part.

  • Bravo! Excellent performance.

It doesn't get much better than this.

Thanks for posting the whole Concerto.

    John

  • Val is very concentrated. She is very calm and down to earth.

  • Sounded a tad rushed to me, too, but still beautiful.

  • ne obychno bystro- wsjo rawno prijatno !

  • speedy ? perfect tempo in my opinion

  • Delicadíssima!!! Comovente!!!

À falta de melhores palavras, repito romymistique:

"Bravissima, you bring tears to my eyes"...

Bravíssima, Valentina, te agradeço com lágrimas...

  • Darling you play this with the delicacy of an angel; you can truly feel Beethoven and his sorrow. Bravissima, you bring tears to my eyes.

  • ragazzi è bravissima

  • This a really Rondo Allegro thanks Val ;)

  • ...che delicatezza...

    Eccellente!!!

  • so speedy.......................................

  • marvelless, but a little bit too fast!? I dare to say that even if I am NOT a musician

  • Perfekt einmalig schön gratulation Sie sind

    eine großartige Pianistin

    liebe Grüße

    Friedhelm

  • eines der schönsten Kunstwerke in der Musik

  • She is Marvelous!!!

  • Valantina is always fast .. i wonder wat her car is

  • @costellopianist come on, are you kidding me? who cares....

  • @costellopianist lame jock but i gave u thumbs up anyways for encouragement :P

  • This is my favorite part, but they play it faster than I'm used to hearing.

  • .Really really good.

  • 3m35...

  • This is incredible! Her trills are ridiculous! Her fingers are like little birds fluttering effortlessly.

  • yeah she amazes me everytime =)

  • i was looking for thissssssssssssssss i loveeeeeeeeee itttttttttttttttttttttttttt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    so romanticccccccc

  • so speedy

  • wow, you have a big hand

  • There are not words for Beethoven's music... His music is not from this world but from an other, better place.

  • @kissandreamelinda This is a perfect example that we CAN experience Elysium here on earth... if only for a short while.

  • @kissandreamelinda My favorite quote by him is "I shall hear in Heaven!" And he certainly did, no doubt...

  • Valentina, you are good and I'm talking GOOD., I hope from the bottom of my heart your career is skyrocketing. I hope to see you live in San Fransisco some time. I will keep an eye for this. I love your technique, it's been a long time since I have heard somebody as good as you are. Once again congratulations.

    Your admirer

    Gabi

  • Davvero stupenda!

  • HERMOSO!!!

  • I fell in love with all this classical music as a child, and continue to play today. The snottiness however of part of the classical community is disgusting to me and totally turns me off. Just appreciate that she is amazing and get off your high horse. I want to see you do it.

  • Are we not allowed to have preferences? hotuser did say "in my opinion." did he/she not? I prefer Ashkenazy over Rubinstein and I prefer Ashkenazy over Lisitsa personally. Nothing against her at all. I think that you are misinterpreting his comment. All of these musicians operate at such a high level that it's really a matter of personal preference.

  • Beautiful! beautiful!!

  • I'm really impressed with your powerful touching at 3re mov. 3!!!. I'm expecting Grieg Concerto in seoul!! See you then~

  • Beautiful playing!

  • Wonderful transition into the finale. I have always struggled to come to terms with the 3rd movement theme but the way it bursts from the transition makes it make sense. Thank you so much for this performance.

  • i really dont like the conductors interpretation of this...at all.

but the piano playing is still beautiful...i love it.

  • the more versions I hear of this concerto, the better it gets

  • Dear Friends,

Somebody pretending to be me goes around leaving nasty comments on YouTube. The impersonator's user name is VaIentinaLisitsa - the letter "L" is replaced by capital "i".

If you see this person's comments on other people pages - please let me know . I am trying to stop it and already complained to YouTube . This person is disgusting !!!

  • will do.

hope this guy gets caught. its a good thing that u complained to utube.

thx for all ur wonderful videos, i adore u.

  • @ValentinaLisitsa i never came accross your impersonator yet, but i'll let you know...in any case, r you the really VL? I find it hard to believed that you would be putting comments on yt...interesting...i would think you have better things to do than the rest of us losers.

  • @ValentinaLisitsa I hope you finally discovered the naughty impersonator. Such behaviour is really shocking! Anyway, I hope you keep enchanting us for a very very long time.

Don Pizarro (not the nasty governor, the other one)

  • @ValentinaLisitsa To think some childish jealous weirdo would stoop so low into stupidty is beyond pathetic, hopefully that problem has been resolved.

  • vedy nice
