BTW This video just isn't a good example of this drummer's skill. I've been watching some of the other videos and she plays open handed in 50% of the time. You try being that balanced. I takes practice. I give them props. They're young and they must be working super hard.

this is my favorite cover that Smoosh does, I guess you'de have to realize the timing, they were opening for Bloc Party, they brought the high off that into their cover, they had to do it well, not only to honor Bloc Party, but to show a kind of respect to Bloc Partys' song, plus after you've played the song a hunderd times it becomes mechanical. But I still like it! :)

well I am going to go cry now, because I was there that night, it was supposed to be a brithday present for my nephew, that was the day of the New Jersey floods, it took us forever to get into the city, detours everywhere, on the tickets 'doors open 7:00pm' it was a sunday night, we got there right at 7:00pm waited, waited till about 8:30pm still no band on, we asked when does Smoosh go on? they said mm about 10:00pm well we had to leave, school the next day, and it was gonna take about 2 hours

to get home on top of that, so this past year Smoosh was playing 3 different venues in Nyc I got tickets for every single one, to make up for last year, so at least my nephew would be able to see one, just happened he was on vacation from school that week, but this time the tickets said '18 and over' :(

I agree that this is not the best performance of this song, but you've got to realize where they were playing too. This was not a regular concert venue with a good sound system. It sounds like they were having some difficulties with the sound at this place (on this and other videos) and also with the cord to Maia's bass it seems.

Why would I get mad? I've made similar observations in the past. I don't think they are the best of singers, but they have obviously worked on that, and have improved a lot since they started. A lot of factors can influence how inspired a performance will be. Playing in a store with a crappy sound system, and relatively few people paying attention is a lot different than playing in a normal venue. It could also be that they are just getting tired of this song.
