The only regular levels in the 16th and final world were Special 8-Crown and I forget which number it was but it was the one with the flipping block platforms and Rocky Wrenches. All the others were either Cosmic Mario bosses, levels that started you with a default time limit of 30 seconds, or a combination of both.

I found it very weird that:

Regular world 8: Lava world, makes you nervous,music makes you confident to finish the game, but has easy levels.

Special world 8:Peaceful, cheerful (DRAWING TUNE FTW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) music, you think you can leave it for later because you think its so peaceful, but ragequitting levels.

Once you get every star coin, beat all levels as Mario and Luigi, including the top of all flags and you get the last level, Special World 8-Castle; you might lose a few hairs from the stress. That final level is a pain in the ass ;_; It's hard with the tanooki suit, but nearly impossible without it. I died over 100 times and I still never beat it without the tanooki suit.

Special World 8 is a pain in the buttocks, but it's worth it. I love Mario games :)
