  • This is one of the many veiling walls for American future generations.I salute the brave vietnamese

  • One small country repulsed the world's dominate superpower. 3 million men women and children dead, for nothing.

  • Hanoi...You can shoot down Rolling thunder's on Cod?;-)

  • @pulitzercenter. I understand your viewpoint. Understand though, we (America) went overthere with another lie and tried to force our opinion on a people who had been fighting invaders for hundreds of years. To them it is called the American War, and they won it. You may not like what I say. I lost my uncle, MIA in 71. He was a recon scout. If anyone has a right to be angry it would be me. They did win they're indepencence and our country got the wakeup call that we cant do what we want.

  • The Vietnam war is just a part of Cold War,if the US did not send troops to Vietnam to stop Communist from spreading, the South part of Asia maybe communist right now,and you see the result that Laos,Cambodia are Communist

  • The U.S. never should have been there, not with that many troops fighting against an enemy that knew the territory 100 times better than we did. If JFK had been alive, the U.S. never would have been as involved as we were. It's a shame that so many people were killed for a cause that was completely misguided. We should have put troops in surrounding countries instead, especially since Indonesia kicked their communists out during that timeframe. Just my opinion, take it for what you will.

  • @336kgf That's why JFK was killed of course, or one reason. He told Cronkite two or three months before he was shot, no war in Vietnam. Bang.

  • Total brainwashed kids.

  • @gregrutz of course they're brainwashed! They speak of "peace and freedom" when communism threatened the very same peace and freedom of South Vietnam!

  • Yes Americans are. Vietnam was a war of Independence just as the US fought a war of Independence with the British the Vietnamese did it first with the French and then the Americans.

  • @rookie314 But you are not independent, you are communist ! You lost your freedom from the government, they now rule your life.

  • @gregrutz the vietnamese people chose to be ruled by communism, a referendum that was to be held in 1956 (before s viet president diem cancelled it) was expected to have 80% of the population voting to be ruled by the north.

if america truly respected freedom then they wouldve given the vietnamese people the freedom to discard their own individual freedoms. it doesnt matter if they are deluded or wrong, its their own choice and the US shouldve respected that instead of wasting 50,000 lives.

  • @fludblud the freedom to discard their own individual freedoms

That is stupid, no one discards their freedom, governments take it away.

  • @gregrutz no, people can knowingly vote in governments that will take their freedoms if it means security, economic success or national pride.

the Nazis in germany were voted in to power because they promised to make germany great again. the communists in vietnam had the support of the people because they promised to fight foreign troops. GWB was voted in because he promised to be tough on terrorists even if it meant the NSA can tap into your phone and read your emails whenever they wanted.

  • @fludblud Correct, Nazis killed millions of people and was bad. Communists killed millions of people and is bad. GWB was bad.

    I rest my case.

  • they fell helplessly, like burnt moths and it was scary.

  • Since when is Communism a good thing? This is disgusting. America was trying to keep the South from being oppressed by the North's totalitarian Communist regime. Of course the American women in the video doesn't talk about that. We tried to help the people of Vietnam but our politicians tied our hands behind our back in fighting the war. How people forget the truth.

  • @mvm71 My brother-in-law told me how they weren't allowed to go into Dole's cane fields (the juice people). The VC would shoot at them..run back in and wait.

  • @mvm71 President Dwight Eisenhower wrote: "I have never talked or corresponded with a person knowledgeable in Indochinese affairs who did not agree that had elections been held at the time of the fighting, possibly 80 per cent of the population would have voted for the communist Ho Chi Minh.". So you must have been helping the other 20 percent?

  • Whys everyone against the USA? Cause no ones wants to fight 2nd best.

  • VIETNAM A WEALTHY COUNTRY?ARE THEY TRYING TO BE FUNNY OR WHAT?THIS LITTLE PUNKS DONT GET EVEN 50 DOLLARS A MONTH!

  • @dreamrsdiedreamsdont. they still beat you.

  • Funny how everyone is fighting for freedom and independence.

  • ..this is how planting US democracy ends.

  • American dogs

  • remember in a war nobody wins everypeople deserves respect whether there poor or rich people should respect everyone and the enemy and the enemy will respect you .

  • AND THE WINNER IS VITNAM .

  • @PrinceValiantThesnob would you be happy if people bombed your country and invaded it....make you live like a slave in your own country....i know that you are angry because they said that they were proud to gun down a us bomber....but the us was at that time an invader

  • The blonde should have stomped on their feet , and thrown them into the lake .

  • hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha sucks flybomber crash ... sooo goooood .))))

  • us suck every war

  • Comment removed

  • do not believe VC said, but must see careful what they did!

  • Comment removed

  • I would have like to have seen some compassion from that woman for her countrymen who perished in that B-52.

  • I hope the pilots got out of it okay!!

  • @shillyshallyz The US won? Exactly how do you come up with that result?

  • @alexandermccarthy We dropped more bombs.

  • @seka1986 Really, that's the basis for your last statement? Wow, how underwhelming. Can you please tell me which form of government currently controls Vietnam?

  • @alexandermccarthy we pulled out due to cost and to many lives were lost

  • @steelersrock21 Not quite. The reason the US pulled out, primarily, was due to the pressure placed on the government by the public for funding a war that was seen as increasingly unnecessary and unpopular. As many commentators have noted, whilst America had technological dominance on the battlefield, it failed to win the backing of the general population back home, whilst also failing to win hearts and minds within the Vietnamese civilian community.

  • @alexandermccarthy Operation Linebacker II(When this B-52 was lost) allowed the United States to finally withdraw on it's own terms. It forced the North Vietnamese to release our POW's & bought the Republic of Vietnam time. The United States left Vietnam as a victor militarily. The North had NOTHING left. They fired every SAM missle in their inventory, their infrastructure was smashed, their harbors were unusuable. They were at our mercy as a result of this. We let them off the hook &walked away

  • @9Apilot I'm sorry mate, but you're suggesting that evacuating the U.S. Embassy by helicopter was a choice? I realise your name suggests that you either are, or were, in the military, but you're spouting a party line, not history.

The US found itself trapped in a war that was started by a lie, and which ended in a resounding defeat.

  • @alexandermccarthy Operation Frequent Wind was the end of our diplomatic relationship, but our military involvement was over in 1973. Were the circumstances that led up to that succinct & emblematic end on the roof top of that embassy were the summary of a series of 'choices' made by high level politicians & bureaucrats in the 15 years leading up to it. WE(including AU) largley defeated the communist in a military sense, short of actually occupying enemy territory. S.Vietnam was defeated, NOT US

  • @alexandermccarthy i think your jealous. your probably french or a jew. i'm jut sayin. btw no need to ask i'm a dum redneck american and i love nascar and beer!

  • @alexandermccarthy US wasn't at war when the embassy was evacuated. A lot of people easily get their history twisted. In terms of this pointless war having any victor? - The US didn't do so badly, in stopping communist spread by Soviet financed civil wars. It broke their back and Soviet and China never resorted to the same strategy again. Vietnam as victor? What did they win? +2mil dead, ruin, poverty and communist dictatorship? Independance? -Ha! Never threatened. Like Japan and S Korea.

  • @Vermiliontea Just so were clear here. The Paris Accords went in to effect in January 27, 1973 which (un)officially ended the Vietnam War, however, the NVA effectively unified the country around the time the US evacuated their embassy in April 30, 1975. However, if you look at US foreign policy for the time between the two events, the "official" position may have been one that engagement had ended, but the military position made it quite clear they were engaged in the prosecution of a war.

  • @alexandermccarthy defeat my ass, turd, we kicked their ass on th ebattlefield in every major battle. General Vo Nyguen Giap himself said that if Nixon kept up the Christmas bombing one more day they would have surrendered.

This was no defeat by the US, it was TREASON by the democrats and the media in the US to sabotage the war effort.

  • @usmc7242 Two points to make:

    1) The Case-Church Amendment ensured the US would "lose" the Vietnam War be clearing the skies for the PAVN to relocate at will. This was official government policy so it can hardly be counted as the treasonous efforts of the Democrats and the media as you claim.

    2) I'm guessing from your screen name that you hold some affinity for the USMC which has clearly clouded your judgement of history especially when it comes to what you term kicking ass on the battlefield.

  • @alexandermccarthy What Lie would that be Timmy? Hmmm? The lie that Communism had been

spreading itself around the world for 50 years ..? The lie that Vietnam was next on the list

for conquest? The lie that dozens of countries had been subjugated all of Eastern Europe, Latin America,

North Korea. China...Dozens of countries within the USSR? That Lie? Oh..wait 50 years of reality

mean nothing..you want to quibble about the Gulf of Tonkin incident dont you Timmy ?

  • @ehunter2 Well, despite you truly pathetic attempts at sarcasm, I'll respond to your childish scribbling.

    1) The Gulf of Tonkin "incident", which was the U.S. government's excuse to get involved, has been unequivocally shown to be a lie.

    2) The "spread" of communism is a misnomer, as any glance at a map from the time will show, and as is even more vividly illustrated when looking at a modern map, but in neither case had anything to do with U.S. foreign policy.

  • @alexandermccarthy I see...Communists had been waging war ..sponsored by the USSR

since 1920s. By 1946 it was attack after attack, bombings in Saigon, shootings of US

citizens, killing elected Vietnamese officials....millions of deaths..all previous to the Gulf

of Tonkin incident in 1964...but for the quibbling little half wit the big picture never matters does it?

  • @ehunter2 How many has the U.S. killed through the toppling of elected officials, assassinations, U.S. sponsored U.N blockades. Honestly, your view of the world is so myopic. Oh, and the fact that I've read, have an opinion and occasionally use spell check means I'm rather less than a half wit, but for those with little in the way of vocabulary, so it goes.

  • @alexandermccarthy Ah yes..the standard teenage rebellion eh my little Che Guevara...and as always the

target is the one country you are absolutely sure will never lift one finger to stop

your lies or idiocy. Try your little game in say "liberated" Venezuela or South Africa

or Cuba. You have tried to pull your stunt about knowing some big secret about the USA

and have had the facts slap you down....but facts mean nothing the thrill is in the revolutionary posing

    isnt it?

  • @ehunter2 I'm not sure why you feel compelled to post such vitriolic nonsense, but even a cursory glance through any history of the 19th and 20th century will illustrate how ridiculous your stance is.

  • @alexandermccarthy Like the whining little teenager you are..you look at the adult world searching

always for "hypocrisy", someway to disqualify the adults from ever having any right to tell you what

to do. The same tactics applied to politics that you applied to your parents and teachers in highschool

Unable to understand the adult issues, or the real spread of history or the facts of a life and death

struggle you run around screeching about some imperfection you discovered.

  • @ehunter2 You really are a child. Because I've pointed out some serious flaws with your flag waving apologist stance, you then resort to name calling and posturing. You're grounded and there's no supper for you little boy.

  • @alexandermccarthy Imitating the adults doesnt suit you Timmy.. you pointed out nothing.

You postured about Gulf of Tonkin...failing to put it into any historical context..then drifted

off to your Che Guevara imitation. Then when called out..you began doing some kind of

sandbox tactic of parroting the adults so sound important. Do us a favor Timmy..watch video

games and smoke pot and stop trying to think

  • @ehunter2 Ok last chance to lay off the sauce or I'm calling an intervention.

  • @alexandermccarthy What you are doing is absolutely nothing..splutter, stall, scream racism..

scream fascism..play at teenage rebellion..do all the leftist song and dances...but absolutely nothing with any

substance, ideas, maturity, knowledge or reason.

  • @ehunter2 Night night little boy.

  • @alexandermccarthy Yup, we couldn't save them from the communists. We beat Russia so who cares about them now.

  • @alexandermccarthy No we gave up because we don't care if you are communists and dominated by your government.

  • @gregrutz no humanity lost in that war....

  • @9Apilot Forced N.V. to sign agreement to U.S.A. ...escape ! The victory by american way Ha ha ha

  • @50poiuyt THIS MR. 50POIUYT IS CRIMIMAL WAR - KHMER ROUGE - CRIMINAL WAR IN CAMBOJA AND VIETNAM - SAT CONG - FREEDOM VIETNAM AND LAOS - DEMOCRACY FOR VIETNAM - SAT CONG. NAPALM FOR COMMUNISTS. B-52 FOR HANOI

  • @50poiuyt This stupid commie is an idiot. He does not know the real history. NV signed agreement, but never honored or respected any agreements they have signed because that is communists' tradition. Communists only kill and murder people who don't like them. This guy admitted it in his other comments. Vietnamese people have a saying that "Don't ever trust communists...They are only liars."

  • @alexandermccarthy Well Timmy its like this..the USSR armed, and sponsored North Vietnam..

the Communist takeover of Vietnam was just the newest conquest for the USSR

NOW TIMMY..GO TO THE MAP AND POINT OUT WHERE THE USSR IS..OKAY?

And Timmy..when you say Vietnam "won"..explain why 3 million Vietnamese left Vietnam

rather than celebrate its wonderful victory. Okay Tim?

  • @ehunter2 The USSR doesn't exist on any modern map. Night, night.

  • @alexandermccarthy The result was on Fox news.

  • @alexandermccarthy

Go and visit Saigon... compare it to Hanoi you can still see the Capitalist influence. Saigon is much better off than the other... Once you give people a taste of economic freedom, it never quite goes away. I am not saying we should have gotten involved or not. But we certainly should not have left our allies with their wankers flying in the wind. Millions were killed after we left. That is the real shame. If your gonna fight do it to win or not at all.

  • @edwardpham1 haha : u re some guy vietnamese who was kick ass of vietnam

  • B52 never ever bombing in Hanoi .. . .This video clip was distort by Vietcong .

Why ? B52 were be long to Soviet. . . .So B52 bombing on Vietcong , Mongols and all Asia in VN war . . . .VN war was the big Battle South VN Military vs Vietcong,China, Mongols & all Asia. . .Of course Soviet in our side(South VN Military). . .All those information are discover ! For all the Vietcong distort now they will gone for ever likes Mongols in 1989 . . . .

  • so is the bomber in the little pond and can u like swim in it an check it out or is it just a part of it?

  • 3rd world countries,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, you can dress the kids up to look like americans but they still live in 3rd world poverty ,,,,,

  • That B.52 probably blew hundreds of those communist bastards to hell before it went down. Yeah, some war trophy...

  • @cardiffmc WAR it is SHIT anyway

    but Communism must DIE!!!

  • AMERICANS ARE NOT BORN LIARS. But their CRIMINAL LEADERS, political and military, have it in their education TO LIE and COVER UP

Americans are formidably ASHAMED by their STUNNING DEFEAT IN VIETNAM

They all wish to believe bogusses which they repeat on the internet.

  • @shillyshallyz glad some people with brain are speaking out.

  • @vntiger Bye Xinhua . . . .Your head !

  • Always remember how millions of G.I.'s have rampaged their South Vietnam ally countryside "to kill anything that moves", gang raping all "the pretty girls" in the villages before murdering them, kicking and shooting babies, setting fire, cutting ears for their everyday shift of body count... Rogue USA ended up bankrupt and lost the war to a 3rd world country. — read Deborah Nelson about 800+ My Lai's.

    Amen.

  • Get the facts right girls, during the war 80% of manpower were sneaked from China & 90% of the equipment, money, & technical help came from Soviet Union, NOT the Vietnamese. The U.S. had restrictions on rules of engagement & if Operation Linebacker 2 was allowed to continue U.S. Air Force would have destroyed the North which is why your gov. rushed in to sign a treaty ending bombing & releasing US prisoners. Vietnam is Wealthier today because the West opened trade there because of cheep labor

  • @ILSRWY4 So your point is that the little backward nation, who the big powerful nation was bombing into the stone age needed some outside help to win and that help is what allowed them resist. That tells me that the U.S. imperialists lost because they didn't have a weak and incompetent enemy to crush. That's not very flattering. And this garbage about 80% of manpower sneaked in from China sounds like it was pulled straight out of your butt, which is obviously the part of you that hurts the most.

  • @Brooklyn83 No.. that's not MY point... That's history's point! I merely state the facts of HISTORY and not my opinion! You have a problem with that than take it up with historians and the governments involved... not me. Check your resources and the history books... or can't you read! And That's right, my butt does hurt because I just realized your kissin' my ass!!!

  • @shillyshallyz

81 US aircrafts were also shot down

    including 34 B-52s and 5 F-111s

34 B-52s were shot down from Soviet supplied SAMs Not from the Vietnamese technology.THAT WAS MY POINT & the 5 F-111s shot down- they were not shot down- Nobody knows what happened to them. Except that they either suffered stabilator failures from abrupt maneuvers or flew into the grown from failure of the TFR (terrain following radar). Read the book "Fixed Wing Losses of the Vietnam War" & get your facts!

  • @shillyshallyz

SO WHAT'S YOUR POINT WITH THESE FIGURES BELOW.....

    1,624 civilians killed

    6 Mig-21s shot down

THE REASON FOR ONLY 6 MIGS IS BECAUSE OF THE RESTRICTIVE RULES OF ENGAGEMENT!

81 US aircrafts were also shot down

    including 34 B-52s and 5 F-111s

DURING THE BOMBING CAMPAIGN TO Schweinfurt, Germany DURING WORLD WAR 2 OVER 300 U.S. BOMBERS WERE SHOT DOWN OUT OF 800, COUNTLESS CIVILIANS WERE PROBABLY KILLED ON THE GROUND....

BUT THE U.S WAS STILL SUCCESSFUL IN THE OVERALL WAR.

  • @Rogentx

Nixon wanted to convince the world that he is a crazy man, and that he was considering the nuclear option in Vietnam. That was untrue of course: the US always feared a nuclear retaliation by the USSR on the concentration of US troops that were in Vietnam and anihilate them.

  • Wow you people have no lives. Sitting and argueing about this crap. Lets grow up a little people. It already happend, no sense argueing about it. The past is the past.

  • @SASORI5140 Hey guy. .tiananmen square . .Xinhua told me killed no body.. .. your chinese killed many Pigs. . . .so all the blood of those pigs . . .

The whole wolrd knew that. . ..The real chinese gone for more than 3000 yrs ago! Hidden in china are Mongols, but now China ,Taibet,Mongolia. . .Kyzystan. . . .under New Power.

    Bye the Idiot one !

  • but why he distort all???

    my friends are U.S

    and U.K

and i dont understand why he rude and say shit things

    i knew before Vn people

but they were kind and good

    p.s

now vn people seems like that

    maybe they influenced by some???

  • @SASORI5140. Topix . com .. Dmtau knew vntiger are those guys from Xinhua media . . .. .They are not Vietnamese .

  • @HITHEREFOLKS yea and he would have never had to stage Gulf of Tonkin

  • @SASORI5140 You be carefull when talk bad about Communism . I am Vietnamese....Also Now I am a US citizen too! Please what national are you ?Soviet or Good Mad the same one ... . Hard fighting to save your ass! Don't be stupid for one bad guy likes vntiger.. .then you can tell all Vietnamese bad ! Please don't ever do that ! Nice day .

  • @SASORI5140 Please understand. . .nick vntiger is a chinese guy or MTGPMN.MTGPMN ruled by Mongols. This guy only distort to every things .. of course AK47 do nothing to B52.. .Sam did !

South VN right now leader by MTGPMN likes vntiger. Those are slave for Mongols.

And they try hard to make the world hate US & North VN.

  • @vntiger

Also, you seem to be the one who has some hatred, not me.

Air Force wouldve have destroyed the North which is why your gov. rushed in to sign a treaty ending bombing & releasing US prisoners. Vietnam is Wealthier today because the West opened trade there because of cheep labor

  • @shillyshallyz: Check Wiki: On Dec. 22, USA asked Hanoi to return to talks w/the terms from October. On Dec. 26, Hanoi told USA it was impressing on Nixon the bombing was not the reason for decision, VWP Politburo told Nixon that halting the bombing was not a condition for further talks. Nixon replied that he wanted the technical discussions to resume on 2 Jan. & that he would halt the bombing if Hanoi agreed. They did & Nixon stopped aerial operations north of the 20th parallel on 29 December!

  • @ILSRWY4

ROGUE STATE USA PEACE WITH DISHONOR

In 1970 Congress repealed Gulf of Tonkin Resolution

Credit for the war were cut.

THE WAR WAS LOST since then.

    "Vietnamization" and RETREATING TROOPS.

June 1971 the Pentagon Papers published.

    Watergate scandal.

Feb 1972 Nixon visit Mao to reestablish relations with communist China

  • @ILSRWY4

1000+ troops died monthly rampaging South Vietnam.

My Lai and 800+ more massacres investigated, documented but were covered up, cf. Deborah Nelson's "The War Behind Me: Vietnam Veterans Confront the Truth About US War Crimes"

GIs returning home were greeted "Baby killers" and spat at

Risks of civil war in the US

  • @vntiger

Okay, well we have that in common because we both do not like the idea of civilians being killed, regardless of what country it is in. There always been some tention between Cuba and the USA but yes, it is all past tense and with exception of few isolated incidents now and then, we were relatively friendly to them.

  • @Rogentx "enlighten me on how excatly "people like me" is sad when you were the one who 'hopes Americans die" - ignorance promote violence. violence promote death. so if people like you persist to support ignorance there will always be death and violence.

  • @vntiger

You have respect for some, yet you stated that you wish harm to Americans and express other negative opinions. When I, not once used any kind of negative comments on your country or race. Yes, we have bases all over the place. Cuba is just island but has caused the USA some problems in pass, example, the missle crisis in Oct of '62. So please, with your wisedom, enlighten me on how excatly "people like me" is sad when you were the one who 'hopes Americans die" -

  • @vntiger

Okay, had to reply to this at least. We were bombing military or suspected military targets but sadly, yes, innocent civilians were killed. The more you talk, the more you sound very anti-American. Any type of war or police actions, there is going to be cillivians killed so you can't put the blame all on America. We don't "thinking of entering" . We secure peace and prepare for any future wars. Examples of securing peace:

  • @Rogentx there is no opinion from me here, only from you.

  • @vntiger

I can give you several examples of opinions of yours. I have my opinions on couple of things. Anyway, I'm done with this debate. Have a good day

  • And both Rolling Thunder and Linebacker I and II were made by the American president to help convince the North to go back to peace negations in Paris.

  • Americans are so strong opinionated. They think they know so much more about everyone, especially the Vietnamese when most of them had never set a foot inside the country. No wonder every country hate America like no others, even the English has more respect throughout the world than the American warmongers.

  • It's pathetic to see all these accusation of "brainwashed" when the brainwashed ones are the one's sitting in their sofa and watching CNN anti-communist propaganda their whole life. I don't live in Viet Nam but I am proud of the Vietnamese women who shot down some bombers with just AK47 ammunition am I brainwashed? Now kids are going to Iraq to kill because of "nuclear weapons" and they call us brainwashed.

  • IMPOSSIBLE! to shot down B52 cause of AK 47

    you are stupid!

if your girls are not brainwashed they must do homework/marry and grow up kids

but not kill nobody cause it is MEN work

  • @Rogentx i guess independence is bad? maybe you should give USA back to the British.

  • @vntiger

Nothing wrong with Independence at all, The North started the war because they wanted to spread their commie government to the south and ruined the south's way of life and killed so many, including American soldiers. So in short, they still killed after the war was over and 're-educated" then south. Tell you what, have relative killed in a war and then come talk to me.

  • @Rogentx oh you have a relative in the war that mean that you were in the right? how simple minded uneducated you are. I feel sad for your generation of pawns. tell you what, ask those agent orange victims or millions of civilians who was injured by this b52 who was in the right. by the way American were scum trying to rule Viet Nam like it did with Philippines. I hope American will keep dying uselessly like they are in Afghanistan and Iraq.

  • @vntiger

It doesn't matter if I am in the right nor did I ever claim I was. You can easily express you opinion on the matter as I have. However, slight double standard there that you are pulling. You just make statement that you 'hope american will keep dying' yet, you accused me of being simple minded and calling us scum when I never insulted you once. Anyone who wishes that upon anyone, is the "scum".

  • @Rogentx you have a lot of opinions yet my people are the one suffering from your aftermath isn't this ironic? yes you have you own opinion but you are a bias fool. i thought just maybe america would learn something from that war and here we are today more killing, more racism and more unbelievably ignorant opinions. life is good when you just talk out of the clouds isn't?

  • @vntiger

SPeaking of responiblites and racism, you making statement of wishing Americans are killed is just has bad yet. Facts are, you seem to not respect anyone else opinion but your own.. True, there are ignorant opinions including yours as well. In short, I have my bitterness towards communist countries and you have whatever it is you have against American and their opinions. Apparently bias plays the part on both sides of this debate.

  • @Rogentx I don't have bitterness against Americans. I have bitterness against ignorant Americans who can't see through their crimes. You don't don't seem to see your country's crime but accuse others of killing things and controlling things of which your government did in a country that was not even your own.

  • @vntiger

Well you wish harm upon Americans, there is obviously more than just beyond their thoughts by words. Since we were on the subject of semitics, yes, there were crimes done by all countries involved in that conflict. Every country even now is guilty of crimes including USA yes. In terms of 'controlling' that is not our own. We were there helping the South and was the major power of the two so I am curious on the 'control' part.

  • @Rogentx America did not "help" south Viet Nam America was in control of south Viet Nam, why do you think most of the fighting was between Americans and Vietnamese? south Vietnamese were only considered tour guides. You know America wanted to control Viet Nam like it does with the Philippines to suppress China. If America wanted to "help" Viet Nam it would've kicked the French out instead of letting them back in power in 1945. Please stop spreading opinions and watch some documentaries.

  • @vntiger

I know the history of Vietnam. I can not vouch for French and Viet Minh nor do I care about that era so yes, you are probably right about the outcome. However, America had advisors (Green Berets, even CIA people) who were helping the South, even after regular Army/Marines, etc, came in 1965. The south were doing more then tour guides and were not in control. If that was the case, the north would have won alot sooner.

  • @Rogentx Not only did they let the French back in power but instead of returning Viet Nam to the victor after 1954 America decided to divide the country and replace south Viet Nam with it's puppet president who allowed American military man to get drafted into Viet Nam build army and airbase in the south and patrol the shorelines. Who decided project Rolling thunder or Liner back? was it the Vietnamese president or the American president? oh yeah the Vietnamese is definitely in "control".

  • @Rogentx and you know what's ironic? The replaced president was an ex French colonist official Ngo Dinh Diem. His father shot revolutionaries who tried to resist the French during the colonist era.

  • @Rogentx and what good are opinions when the facts are all visible? oh that's right. deny the facts and non-sense opinion prevails. america never take responsibilities for their actions and always BLAME others for their misfortune.

  • THESE PILOTS MAYBE HAD FAMILIES AND RELATIVES!

i am Russian and i wanna say

Cold War it is Past and need to remember HUMANS but not politics

R.I.P All Pilots who did not returned from their raids...

  • Wow, talke about propoganda. These young girls must have been brainwashed and the interviewer is all smiling and happy. Sickening to think our boys probably perished in the hell of that crash. Get this shit off the web.

  • The blonde is a hottie, but stupid for even being there. The NVA were out of SAMs, and we could have leveled that stinking city had the bombing continued a couple more days.

  • Where is the memorial to the B-52 for having driven them to the bargaining table in 1972 after Operation Linebacker 2? All they did is wait for us to leave.

  • Comment removed

  • how this plane crashed in hanoi

  • We Americans are glad that you are enjoying the freedom we bought for you!

  • @BeeZee2 in vietnam ethnic minorities have no freedom

  • The people in the world well know, what meant US digraceful escape from Vietnam in April 30,1975 .The defend of some Americans is ridiculos

  • @50poiuyt

I admit, I couldn't quite put my finger on if this was positive or negative reply to what I had said. We did not disgrace ourselves military wise because it was the politic. If any disgrace was present, it was the High Command, the south Vietnamese and the "cause" of the North Vietnamese. South Viet. especially disgraced themselves by letting us fight and die for their freedom and failing to do what should have been their job in the first place.

  • Spoken like a true warmonger and you must be proud of you country's legacy to the world of leaving a trail of death. One day Russia will do the same to YOUR!!! cities and you will PAY!!! for your nazi crimes against humanity. Personally I dont take prisoners and I would have shot the crew

  • It is a monument to American foreign policy of making enemies and not friends.

  • They should not have been there in the first place, so you get what you get.

  • The sad thing is, those silly little girls don't realize that the B-52 wreckage isn't there because of their "sacrifice." It's there because very weak little men like LBJ, McNamara, and Nixon wouldn't listen to the pros that won WWII like General Curtis LeMay. If LeMay and others were listened to, North Vietnam would have been burnt to a cinder like Japan was. And no, I'm not talking about the use of nuclear weapons.

  • I talkled with refuges in the US that were in boats for over a month to get here one was pregnant five months and why did they have to leave "their" homes? My brother gave his life there when i was 17 when i look back i wish i would have enlisted and burned evey one of those responsible and feel somewhat compensated for what our family sacrificed. a brother and son sadly missed Jan 20 1972

  • Those kids are members of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, the nationalist patriotic youth organisation of Vietnam.

You can clearly see how proud they are about their nation. That Vietnam is a totalitarian state, and definitely not socialist, means nothing to them.

The right wing national stalinists of the "Communist" Party of Vietnam are masters in indoctrinating the youth.

  • Okay, Americans go in to Vietnam to "free" the people, only to be remembered now to thier people as invaders?

  • they were cooked in motor oil and gasoline any survivors were imapled on stakes

  • Such gentle people, peace be with you.

  • -- USA is on the loose since the fall of CCCP 1991 ...

  • In Korea it was 10:1 in Vietnam it was about 3:1 but still the right idea...

  • yep for the first year or two but after they made Top Gunthe kill ratio went back up to 12:1 but still to little to late hundreds of pilots still died because they wasnt trained in true dog fight senarios (or how ever you spell that damn word xD)

  • DAMN people...this war was over almost 40 years ago....give it a break. Vietnam is now a business partner with america. We have peace and economic trade between out two countries. The past is past.

  • "Qua Roi", which translates as "past enough". In a world where the Soviets no longer exist, Vietnam has no love for Red China and the muslims are menacing, I say let bygones be bygones with Hanoi.

  • Soviet anti-aircrafts missiles and radars was also propaganda ? They (VN) don't need so many Migs to fight with Phantoms and B-52. Because they don't have so many well trained pilots.

Mobile anti-aircrafts missiles (S-75M) with russian operators was the most effective weapon in fight with USAF.

    Most dangerous for US pilots.

  • The Vietnimices had some luck in downing some US aircraft in hit-n-run tactics but they could never hold a block of airspace with their equipment or their tactics. They could not stage any significant offensive air campaigns. The intervention of US politicians into the command & control structure probably did more damage than the flying mices. To beat the shit out of anything means that they don't get back into the fight..that never happened with regard to air combat & the USAF in Southeast Asia

  • luck?

  • WHO and WHAT do you fight for?

Ho Chi Minh and Ho Chi Kronkite didn't read the southeast Asia treaty ... I did. Ho Chi Minh and Ho Chi Kronkite didn't believe in SEATO ... I did. Gee, ... , did I forget Ho Chi Fonda ???

  • ha ha ha ha ha

The VNAF? ha ha ha ha

    Thanks for the laugh!!

  • ES350 : you are typical Yank ,why do you not ask :who reached their mark in the war?

  • lemay said to bomb them into the stone age. hell, they are still in it

  • it was shot down by viet namies.

  • We were fighting for the free country's freedom.

  • As someone who was there in uniform. I walked the Mekong among the people. I was not told the truth then and I have ghosts and medals. I never mistreated a prisoner nor saw any at our hand. Recently I saw the Michael Moore movie Sicko. I was photographed with a lot of these in charge Republican leaders and now I have mixed feelings. God bless Michael Moore.

  • my country&my home :(

  • they want awealthier stronger vietnam so they push for american industry to return. I hope the chinese realize just how [eace loving these people are, god they are everyones victim how can this be>?????

  • How very sad that the young girl speaks of a stronger and wealthier country when just the opposite is true. Communist propaganda is some of the best in the world. I feel very badly for the people of Vietnam and how they suffer now because of the choices that were made so long ago.

  • Communist propaganda is on a par with US propaganda and you have been victims of your own Government's nonsense for the last five years.

They suffered because of choices stupid Americans made.

The only situation the US even had/has any remote justification for is Afghanistan.

  • yup. I agree. +1

  • Your namecaling testifies that

1)You don't have enough intelligence to articulate your thoughts in a presentable way,

    3) You don't have and never had a just cause in Vietnam.

    -Cont.-

  • -Cont'd- Instead, what the entire American political system has, are meaningless political slogans, which have no connect to reality on the ground, thus liable to pop into emptyness like burst air balloons. Since your nation has never confronted the real issues about Vietnam, it is condemned to repeat it at other places, in one futile, costly mission after another.

  • Relax sonny, I've only tried to answer you. ☺
