  • @fairiegirlga I'm trying to make some right now and it is way harder than it looks. Making biscuits is an art. My great aunt Edith made the best ones ever. Mine never turn out the same way twice. Hers were always the same and always looked as good as they tasted.

  • Ok i am making this biscuits today!!! :D thanks for sharing!!!! <3

  • I would not call those drop buiscuits, cause for them you would spoon the dough right into the pan. This is just another way of shaping the dough without getting out the rolling pin and cutting um out. This is a very southern ol'timey way of doin it. It sure is easy, and love the video. There is not a thing better in this world then a true southern cook. I think ill whip some of these up tonight. God bless.

  • Dear GOD! Those suckers look YUMMMMMY!

  • WD-40 makes a better non stick substitute

  • @kaos3124 lolol, I use 10-40.

  • i like these.I usually just scrape the dough off the spoon for each biscuit when i make drop biscuits, but i think i prefer flouring them and rolling into a ball.Much prettier

  • DA-YUMMMMM am going to try these tomorrow!

  • Great video ! Thank you !

  • YUMMM. I love Southern cookin. Looks FAB!

  • We love our butter & greese, don't we? hehe

  • Where does those "Green Onions" go in?

  • I LOVE these videos! I have always wondered how to make real biscuits (my mom and I just use Bisquick). This looks so easy! Thanks so much for sharing!

  • Wow that looked easy

  • Great job! Thanks for the video...

  • Self rising flour seems to be a southern thang. No margarine please. Why not use real butter? Boy thats a mama's expert soft touch hand rolling those biscuits. Other than the margarine they look great !

  • This video helped me so much. I will never roll out my biscuits again. Thanks so much for sharing your technique.

  • Hey man. I like all yuor Moms cooking. I was raised on this food and this is all I know how to cook. But, really? This is on the side of the Jiffy Box dude. @ cups Jiffy mix. 2/3 cup milk. Thats it.

  • Good ol biscuits...thanks for sharing!

  • Where is Mrs. McRaney from? Tennesee? Alabama? Georgia?

  • Those biscuits appear to be some what on the slippery side. Now if I can just figure out how to slip a couple of' em my way I'd be rock'in and a roll'in there too. :)

  • If I'm going to use the calories....I would use butter!!!

  • freakin' awwesome. I will use clarified butter and /or brushed on egg. God bless you and your wonderful biscuit recipe.

  • The method looked much easier, than the rolling pin method!! Though she shouldnt have wiped the spoon on with the potholder..!

  • Pam gives me the runs. Anyway I don't think Pam is really part of any southern recipe.

  • YAY! I am so making these I love the no rolling pin required.

  • I think you arew like me, in that, we both think our mamas are the best cooks in the world. :) If my mother were well I would started making cooking videos with her. Great video. By the way you voice sounds so familar. I am thining NPR?

  • thank ya so much! we made theese and theyare yummmmmmmmmmmmerlios!!

  • What is the name of the song in the background?

  • @lowaystar

It is "Green Onions" by Booker T and the MGs.

  • I Love you Mom....... YOU ROCK Saved me from getting out the rolling pin. I heart this

    Thanks

  • Damn looks sooo good!

  • Awesome....I haven't ever made drop biscuits, but those look GOOOD. I think I need to go to the grocery and get the stuff to make them today.

  • i think in the south they use white lilly all purpose flour... I used to watch southern cooking shows they always used that brand...

  • Hi, very good video. I would like to know what kind of flower do you use. could it be regular flower?

  • White Lilly all-purpose self rising.

  • @Lownotes Self-rising flour has baking powder and salt mixed with the flour. I always buy all-purpose flour and add my own flour and salt.

  • @cocinaloya You can use regular flower but you need to add baking soda, salt and baking powder. Self-rising flower already has it included in the mix. It is just easier to use the self-rising as you don't need to buy other ingrediants.

    2 cups self-rising flower

    1/3 cup oil

    3/4 cup buttermilk

375 degrees for 20 minutes til brown

+1 for two paper towel holders with ROOSTERS on them!

  • @cocinaloya lol *flour

  • @cocinaloya if not there are buscuit recipes online you can find. UNlike regular flour, self rising dough has bakign soda and or baking powder in it

  • God Bless you and your family!

    thank you

    vp

  • Just like my mom used to make cept she used crisco not oil and a cast iron skillet. YUM!

  • thank you. brilliant. im gonna make those and i aint changing nothing. so bad!!!!

  • love the accent. reminds me of my grandmother. god bless.

  • go girl!!

  • I am so gonna make those! Thank you Mrs Evelyn!

  • Those look amazing, I've never had anything like that for breakfast before. I'm gonna make them this weekend with gravy.

What are other popular/traditional Southern meals I can try? I'm obsessed with Southern food now, nothing tastes so good in the UK!

  • I just subscibed for you mom's cooking vids. Please keep her vids coming or give her her own channel.

  • I like the way she talks.. "You got them French fried Tatters" "It aint got no gas in it" Thanks for the video and the Cornbread one. I made them and they taste as good as mama made. She is right you can not make cornbread without buttermilk cause if you do they just dont taste the same.

  • Made these with the tomato gravy for breakfest

  • Okay I have to say something... I love that you have shared with us Ms. McRaney wonderful skills!!! Yum!!! I have watched them all and am so excited when you have added a new one!
