This is the very first piece of music I ever consciously "choreographed" when I was 11, for a school project. I can still remember it....I configured my classmates into a giant Chinese dragon that breathed fire....
I was 9 years old when I first heard this. My year at school was doing a production of Noah's Ark and the teacher choreographed a dance routine to it, to represent the sea and waves. Awful way to use such a beautiful piece but it seemed to work. I loved it then and love it now!
@BlackGoldRedMetal In what way? I haven't listened to it on vinyl for a long time but apart from the obvious loss of quality on YouTube I'm not aware of any differences.
1976...Jean Michel avec Alan Parson's did their best 1975-1976. Not together but great from JM : Oxygène 6....The Upperst 6 minutes to health your breast....Do not try it
People who write about electronic music to be soulless are perhaps soulless themselves... Music is about structure, composition, the way the notes and sounds are arranged and put together to create sequence or melody that touches you...not about the instrument.
Electronic music experiments with enormous range of sounds which is simply overwhelming for majority of humanoids to comprehend. Insufficient brain capacity I guess...
To me this track represents Astronaughts who have landed on a habitable planet in another Star System....They have removed there helmets and are watching the sea role in and out on there new strange World....
i'm not a electronic music fan kind of guy, when I was 11 years my uncle introduced me to this music accidentally he play this albums over and over and I kind of liked it now 22 years later I'm surprise how cool this music really is
I born in 1969 and JM jarre was the first K7 i put on my walkman i was 11yo and i can tell he make me fly a lot without moving, now i am a music composer.
@ratcliffave Oh, no, that's not that simple. And please acknowledge that different styles serve different purposes and moods. What matters is, that we all need quality stuff. E.g. yesterday evening I went to a Metallica concert. Today I am in THIS mood.
@ratcliffave man, some rap isnt about killing people or robbing the liqour store, listen to Dead Prez or Immortal Technique, theyre revolutionaries. Not gangbangers, just because you like a certain type of music doesent mean everyone else should have to, its what makes us human.
@ratcliffave way to drop a stereotyped comment not all rap is that gangster stuff you need to do your reasearch lol but anyways i love this track makes me wana bring my casio cz5000 out of storage : )
@ratcliffave I listen to rap music and i've never stabbed anything other than an onion, agree with you 100% this music is beautiful, the best to chill out too. JMJ is a genius/legend.
@ratcliffave Good try, but not really. People have different tastes. Andwhat they do on the side has NOTHING to do with music. Stabbing people occurs from before rap. I am a GREAT fan of Black/Death metal, but i do not go sacrificing people, or killing them. And yes, I am anti-catholic. No, anti-religion totally. Religion, IMHO, is nothing mere than an excuse to get to wars... but that's my opinion.
@trwired Stick to this music......This is over 30 years old and odds are in 30 years from now you'll still enjoy it, now Rap at the most every 3 weeks some new comes up and fast will be forgotten again and again...:)
@trwired i make make music yep i blend this style with hip hop rnb add a bit of hendrix grit guitar not too heavy awesome eh so like them all this tune could be done with stell drums and reggae singer perhaps???
@ratcliffave Its the people. Not the music. I listen to rap music and enjoy it. I also think this is great music. I also like heavy metal, dubstep, hip hop, pop, country, etc. (I struggle to find a genre I dislike) What someone listens to doesn't necessarily represent who they are. Its naive, close minded people like you who build gaps amongst the classes.
@ratcliffave all those narrow minded, judgemental, bigoted idiots that make sweeping generalisations about entire sections of the community based solely on their (that's the correct spelling BTW) preference or not for a type of music they don't particularly like or even understand should the shut the hell up
@ratcliffave yours is an utterly ridiculous comment. hip hop is a direct creative expression, manifestation, and embodiment of the pain, frustration and anxieties that african-americans experience on a daily basis due to being thoroughly socio-economically subordinated, which is an immediate repercussion of centuries of slavery of their ancestors. open up your mind and a history book before you start talking ignorant trash.
@ratcliffave What you listen to doesn't make you who you are. I produce ambient electronic music, listen to hip hop, rockabilly, and new wave mostly. Your way of thinking is very closed off. Those people act like that because of environmental cues. Rap music is just one of the many vessels of that culture. Jean Michelle Jarre is an amazing artist, but saying that his music will cure world ills is just delusional.
Ok. A friend of mine showed me this. I would listen to this music if I had nothing to do 'cause it put me to sleep. No Seriously! I woke up with my keyboard imprinted on my face. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
