  • This is the very first piece of music I ever consciously "choreographed" when I was 11, for a school project. I can still remember it....I configured my classmates into a giant Chinese dragon that breathed fire....

  • Remember buying the album of this.Timeless , ethereal music

  • I was 9 years old when I first heard this. My year at school was doing a production of Noah's Ark and the teacher choreographed a dance routine to it, to represent the sea and waves. Awful way to use such a beautiful piece but it seemed to work. I loved it then and love it now!

  • This track "Took me too some beautiful places"!!!!

  • future~ world music is here best every 1

  • the 10 dislikers are stupid

  • @FXrubiP forget about them!!!!!enjoy the music!!!!!!!!

  • A masterpiece.

  • man thats what u need to listen when u high

  • les extraterestres partent a lavanture dans la jungle d 'Oxo sous l'orage et le vent !...il explore les horizons !...

  • The vinyl did NOT sound like this.

  • @BlackGoldRedMetal In what way? I haven't listened to it on vinyl for a long time but apart from the obvious loss of quality on YouTube I'm not aware of any differences.

  • Това е прекрасна музика! Страхотна е! Жан Мишел Жар е невероятен! Поздрав от България! :*

  • je reviens souvent écouter ce magnifique titre, magique !

  • 1976...Jean Michel avec Alan Parson's did their best 1975-1976. Not together but great from JM : Oxygène 6....The Upperst 6 minutes to health your breast....Do not try it

  • AW,the good old days of Jean Michel Jarre. Best synth music of the 80's.

  • one of my favourites of all time wish to see him play this live one day

  • totally crazy! like you are going to other world

  • This music is so wonderful ! You could almost feel your soul leave your body to travel in a ethereal and luminous world.

Love to listen to this music when I play to the rpg Mage : The Ascension. Jean Michel Jarre could be a great Mage (a Virtual Adept) ^^

  • 8 people can't fly to universe to hear this music.

  • @Vimtox One word for you: Japanoise; that is a music genre you will hate. Horrible sound without beat, melody or lyrics... :S

  • This one is very beautiful!

  • My personal favourite of the Oxygene album since I was about 6...

  • Maybe he'll come to Seattle...I've got a $1.95.

  • One of my favorites ever!!!!

  • One of my absolute Jarre favourites !!

  • je découvre ce titre par hasard,c est magique!!

  • 5*!!!!. :)

  • My favourite Oxygene part alongside part 1...

People who write about electronic music to be soulless are perhaps soulless themselves... Music is about structure, composition, the way the notes and sounds are arranged and put together to create sequence or melody that touches you...not about the instrument.

Electronic music experiments with enormous range of sounds which is simply overwhelming for majority of humanoids to comprehend. Insufficient brain capacity I guess...

  • All electronic music is soulless and artificial, this is as complex and emotional as it comes but its still chilling and cold.

  • heighten the experience of sex with this song...and maybe a little weed

  • @whussupbros and a minty butt-plugg

  • amazing after all these years just amazing still :-)

  • amazig after all these years just amazing still :-)

  • exelente

  • i'm glad i found this.. my uncle listened to this over 25 years ago and i remembered that pic because he had the vinyl standing in his room

  • @ LordPetee yo tengo el vinilo y lo escuchaba hace mas de 30 años

  • 2 and 6 are my favourites from this phenomenal album.

  • this hasn't aged at all! so many electro bands are trying his techniques now....but he was creative enough to do it decades before....genius!

  • superbe, ca fait rever je la joue sur dx7

  • To me this track represents Astronaughts who have landed on a habitable planet in another Star System....They have removed there helmets and are watching the sea role in and out on there new strange World....

  • This is one of the greatest electronics tunes been made!

  • i'm not a electronic music fan kind of guy, when I was 11 years my uncle introduced me to this music accidentally he play this albums over and over and I kind of liked it now 22 years later I'm surprise how cool this music really is

  • I remember me the year 1976, when this LP was released. I started to become a

big big fan of Jean-Michel. It was a revolution of music. By Syntie-Music he's the

    greatest. Thanks Jean-Michel!!

  • Me and my electrical piano like him

  • This is so cool, it was used in my fucking science lesson about coasts!!!

  • I born in 1969 and JM jarre was the first K7 i put on my walkman i was 11yo and i can tell he make me fly a lot without moving, now i am a music composer.

  • Love Jean Michel Jarre's Music, can escape for a while when need be

  • Advising all visitors to listen to this with "=fmt&18" added to the end of the address, and as loudly as possible!

I think my favourites are maybe parts 2, 4 and 6. Perhaps 6 takes it.

  • Simply genius.

  • wonderful music and video - thank you - lg gitte

  • Eines seiner schönsten Stücke.

    Jetzt Donnerstag ist es soweit

  • @ratcliffave To each his own.

  • @ratcliffave

And smoke LOADS of weed...and I mean LOOOOOOAAAADS.

PS. You sound like an old man.

  • @ratcliffave One out of three.

  • @ratcliffave honestly, that's extremely ignorant my friend.

  • @Kofdiddy no it's not.

  • @ratcliffave Oh, no, that's not that simple. And please acknowledge that different styles serve different purposes and moods. What matters is, that we all need quality stuff. E.g. yesterday evening I went to a Metallica concert. Today I am in THIS mood.

  • @ratcliffave

Finally someone that says something that actually makes sense!

  • @Ziomster04 Not really. The "there/their" issue with that post completely removes any semblance of sense it might have had.

  • @nobodyknowsmenow Lmao...

  • @ratcliffave Their brains are not complex enough to comprehend or understand this kind of music haha. They would probably just try and stab it lol

  • @ratcliffave I doubt that they'd understand this to be honest, although I myself listen to hip hop and I love this.

  • @ratcliffave mainstream rap you mean. i listen to rap and i love this stuff aswell

  • @ratcliffave man, some rap isnt about killing people or robbing the liqour store, listen to Dead Prez or Immortal Technique, theyre revolutionaries. Not gangbangers, just because you like a certain type of music doesent mean everyone else should have to, its what makes us human.

  • @ratcliffave way to drop a stereotyped comment not all rap is that gangster stuff you need to do your reasearch lol but anyways i love this track makes me wana bring my casio cz5000 out of storage : )

  • @ratcliffave

    One can only hope...

  • @ratcliffave I listen to rap music and i've never stabbed anything other than an onion, agree with you 100% this music is beautiful, the best to chill out too. JMJ is a genius/legend.

  • @ratcliffave Good try, but not really. People have different tastes. Andwhat they do on the side has NOTHING to do with music. Stabbing people occurs from before rap. I am a GREAT fan of Black/Death metal, but i do not go sacrificing people, or killing them. And yes, I am anti-catholic. No, anti-religion totally. Religion, IMHO, is nothing mere than an excuse to get to wars... but that's my opinion.

  • @ratcliffave why?

  • @ratcliffave OMG! I love this music! But I also love rap. What am I to do? :(((

  • @trwired prawdopodobnie fanem dobrej muzyki : )

  • @trwired breath along the music and go beyond the stars

  • @trwired Dont worry about it.All music is the spice of life.

  • @trwired enjoy both :)

  • @trwired Stick to this music......This is over 30 years old and odds are in 30 years from now you'll still enjoy it, now Rap at the most every 3 weeks some new comes up and fast will be forgotten again and again...:)

  • @elunicojefe some rap ain't never gonna be forgotten, Eminem,

  • @trwired i make make music yep i blend this style with hip hop rnb add a bit of hendrix grit guitar not too heavy awesome eh so like them all this tune could be done with stell drums and reggae singer perhaps???

  • @trwired: Try Funk'80... The real Funk Music, not the soup ! Try this to the beginning :

Grand Master Flash :: The Message (1982, Base) : youtube.com/watch?v=O4o8TeqKhgY

Grand Master Flash :: The Message (Live) : youtube.com/watch?v=BN9-K0aZXRg

Grand Master Flash :: The Message (Edit) : youtube.com/watch?v=sORA_0vVgpQ&feature=fvsr

Because GMF and JMJ used the same awesome synthesizer Prophet V (it's just an idea).

  • @trwired : Otherwise, try if you please (real Funk music) :

    Loose Ends :: Magic Touch : youtube.com/watch?v=etMhxwJuIBo

SOS Band :: Tell Me If You Still Care : youtube.com/watch?v=Uf-WQrB6EUE

    D-Train :: Keep On : youtube.com/watch?v=-MuIlInaF6M

    Change :: Glow Of Love : youtube.com/watch?v=IsgOMbERc4A

    Cherrelle :: Artificial Heart : youtube.com/watch?v=X9fMHUYyLWI

Once upon a time that youth doesn't know... ;-)

  • @trwired listen also to jazz and metal..so that you can pick different tracks from different genters according to your mood!

  • @trwired embrace it, bruv. like everything. the world is yours.

  • @ratcliffave Its the people. Not the music. I listen to rap music and enjoy it. I also think this is great music. I also like heavy metal, dubstep, hip hop, pop, country, etc. (I struggle to find a genre I dislike) What someone listens to doesn't necessarily represent who they are. Its naive, close minded people like you who build gaps amongst the classes.

  • @ratcliffave all those narrow minded, judgemental, bigoted idiots that make sweeping generalisations about entire sections of the community based solely on their (that's the correct spelling BTW) preference or not for a type of music they don't particularly like or even understand should the shut the hell up

  • @shuyasixsixsix agreed man. see my comment above

  • @ratcliffave what's wrong with rap, real rap expresses life in the hood

  • Comment removed

  • @ratcliffave yours is an utterly ridiculous comment. hip hop is a direct creative expression, manifestation, and embodiment of the pain, frustration and anxieties that african-americans experience on a daily basis due to being thoroughly socio-economically subordinated, which is an immediate repercussion of centuries of slavery of their ancestors. open up your mind and a history book before you start talking ignorant trash.

  • @ratcliffave What you listen to doesn't make you who you are. I produce ambient electronic music, listen to hip hop, rockabilly, and new wave mostly. Your way of thinking is very closed off. Those people act like that because of environmental cues. Rap music is just one of the many vessels of that culture. Jean Michelle Jarre is an amazing artist, but saying that his music will cure world ills is just delusional.

  • This IMO is the best part of the album. I prefer it to Part 4 since the melody here is more interesting.

  • Ok. A friend of mine showed me this. I would listen to this music if I had nothing to do 'cause it put me to sleep. No Seriously! I woke up with my keyboard imprinted on my face. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • Super ce morceau anthologique sorti en 1976!!!

  • in the year 3000 this will be called contemporary music

  • @hbrenner

    Haa.

    IILIAKAAR DEMASH DEMASHAANA.

  • @hbrenner No it´s not 2012 is the end! ))

  • @911Investigate911

2012 is really end but end for FOOL People :)

  • was this in a clockwork orange ? sounds a bit like it

  • Jean Michelle Jarre was and still is ahead of his time!

  • yea thanks so much for putting this up in perfect order... I loved this so much i had to buy the CD for my car.

This music is amazing. Im 24, I like techno music and stuff, but wow this is just a whole new level.

In my mind this music is in a category of its own...

  • Hey thanks for the whole LP..it makes me feel like a teenage 30 years ago...I loved this... now first relistened it..still good!!

  • This is makes you feel like you are in some kind of mysterious space hell. Amazing.

  • my dad played all his music when i was a kid i'm 41 now my dad has passed away, his music means so much to me now it does something special to you, you can't explain it.

  • i'm so sorry to hear that your dad has passed away. i understand you because this music is just a step to another dimension.

  • Thanx sanselim38 its nice when someone understands what i mean..

  • If you know anyone that says all electronic music is soulless and artificial, make them listen to this.

  • @redstar993 For me it´s better than DRUGS; just laying around and hear This Music, losing myself in it

  • @redstar993 Yep.

  • Earth is circumcised.

    Ez a kibaszott bolygó körülmetéltetett.

  • We have an Earth in this circumstance. A bloody cranium is growing on It... But a beautiful music...

  • universe, stars, black holes, ufo spaceships....

  • very Good

  • Personal Favorite from the album.

    Five stars.

  • I think Oxygene is a travel. From outer space to our galaxy, Sun, Earth Surface, and underground, and the seed, the centre of Earth Or something like that... I think "Life" appears in Oxygene IV naturally...

  • LIE down. Not lay down. Learning English from Americans is not good.

  • Don't you mean both ARE acceptable.

    Peace

    ;~)

  • yes i ment that :-s

  • cooooooooooooooool

  • This is my all time favorite of the album. It's fucking brilliant. It's drugs without drugs. Lay down in your bed and just embrace the serenity.

  • if the geometry of physics could equal the sound of this tune then it would probably be a miracle.a articulate album for the self assured.

  • You are a complete and utter retard!!!

  • my alltime fav i ve heard it for the better part of my age n it has always fascinated me it takes u beyond the perimeters such music u can come across ones in a lifetime so did i n i have held it close to my heart eversince areal classic thnx amillion 4 sharing

  • Apparently it took you beyond the perimeters of grammar and spelling, too...

  • jsmaye, The offender doesn't know what you are on about, this is funny stuff!

  • aaah 2 and 4 are better...

  • sound scary to me....

  • nah, nothing to fear for, this is smooth and relaxing music.

  • part6 my alltime favourite since 16 yrs

  • Oxygène and Equinoxe are two magical wonders in my musical world.

  • The same with me, this music influenced my hole musical taste since my 5th...

  • This song foreshadows all chill-out music in my view :)

By the way, this along with Oxygene 4 got to number 4 in the charts back in 1976!

  • i still have the C-90 cassette with equinoxe on one side and Oxigene on the other. while studying (up to 1983) I played it again and again and again and ...

And yesterday I finally got to see him live in Vorst in Brussels ..

    Great performance !!!

  • MY FAVORITE XD

  • 1976 (the year of this album) when the price of a keyboard was the same as a semi detached house, no Drum and Base, no Techno, no Funky House no nothing (all these genres where years and years away) hip hop had just been invented in New York and this guy comes along with music way way ahead of its time played on equipment that only millionaires could afford!!...

  • Props to taking a leap that I guess would have been unlikely to pay dividends at the time.

  • Nah, a Minipops-7, a Smallstone Phaser and a Eminent U310 wasn´t problematic to afford (even nowadays is a U310 rather el-cheapo-Equipment). JMJs Equipment was back then expensive, but not -that- expensive.

  • r u lot on drugs its just a drum machine with sum bendy keyboard

  • lol

  • This part, along with Part 2, is so visually charged. It's like a sonic equivalent of landing on an alien shore, only to find the cities are ancient, blown apart by apocalypse or its resident speices...

God, I love this tune; it transports me. Live Long, Jean

  • Awesome! Klaus Schulze is awesome as well. With Tangerine Dream and without.

  • almost certainly this is the best all-instrumental album ever. also the best french one

  • I grew up with this music. It has always given me strength and power for my daily life. It is my favourite song. Thank you very very much for posting it. Regards:)

  • Me too. ;-) I used to read Stephen King´s book´s and listen to Mr Jarre on my walkman(later cd-player, even later mp3).....from late 1980´s to this day

  • You're not alone, I grew up with this music and it's my favourite song.

  • 1976 ...

Really genious. Merci Jean Michel pour donner cette musique géniale!
