I remember this game to be pretty hard if you only use the normal cannon, and the bosses became pretty fast after a certain amount of time and they killed you whatever you did, like you had to defeat the boss in a certain amount of time. Also, the 1000t weight was in fact the most broken weapon in the game. I should have noticed that sooner.

why didnt you show where the power ups and secret shops are hidden?

if anyones wondering, shoot at bottom of screen and scroll across until they appear, except for the 1st level, i dont think they are there. one of the secret shops is about level 6 in the clouds in middle of the screen.

Fantasy Zone 2 is the most underrated game from that 8 bit era.

Surely the best game ever! That was my childhood. I will never forget this game. I had a rapidfire adapter, which made me able to reach the 5th level. This game was very very hard. Impressive, you only got a scratch once! Well, I`ll stop right here as I have a lot to say how much I like this game. Not to mention all the songs... Regards!!!

It really is incredible how much of a difference it makes with a turbo controller/rapid fire unit.

The ending was He had a split personality that made him the hero and villain of the series caused by stress from his childhood. That's some deep sh-t for a 8 bit video game and who said that games back than didn't have good endings.

@Jettwinlock You should see the arcade remake Japan exclusively got on the PS2. Has a bad, good, and TRUE ending. The bad one actually has him causing destruction and the only one that can stop him is the Space Harrier. It goes even deeper than this version.

I always thought the boss at 1.55 was pretty scary looking when I was a kid - awesome use of sprites to achieve fake rotation though, especially in 8-bit!

level 7 used to drive me nuts, you'd work so hard all game to get there, and then level 7 stood in your way.

Close call at 1:15! Nice Speed Run. I loved this game back in the day. These are games that had soul and were worth playing for 2 hours or more. I could never make it pass the last boss, hence I never beat this game. Oh well...

Impressive! I always used fireballs and a 40 second clock for round 8 and all you needed were 10 heavy bombs. You took a game that took me five months to beat and killed it in less than 15 minutes. No red bottles, no blue bottles, no extra ships. Great job.

And that was awesome on Sbardian, that round used to give me fits before I developed a strategy. You went balls to the walls.

never played this game...i beat the first one, and i loved it! the 2nd one looks more hard than the first one, and i like the way they put the same last boss but there was a mirror match at the end...good stuff! :-)
