I have discovered anyone can fix their 2007 Tundra TRD by wedging 1.375 inch or so rubber bushings between the bed and cab on each corner side of the truck(maybe use airbag to seperate?). Even parts from a pool foam stick wedged in will help a lot. Let me know what you think and if it works for you.
Hummm i think its just your highway man. My dad and his buddy who owns a crew max took a trip to canada and it was quite smooth to me. 12 hour ride. no fatique.
It all depends on where you drive? If your on concrete freeways alot, you will hate the truck, but if your not, then you may be fine. My job changed 2 months after I bought it, and that's when I realized how bad it was. I used to drive on asphalt roads till I got a new job?? The truck is nice and has tons of power, braking, and other features, it's just the ride that will really make you regret buying it!
I own an 08 tundra double cab 2wd and I have this problem while driving on conrete highways. I have no problems driving on ashpalt but concrete is one hell of a bumpy ride. Other than that the truck kicks ass.
I got bounce before when towing a 18 ft utility trailer with Tundra. It shake my belly. I found out the 10,000lb trailer axle was misaligned defect manufacture. I got rid of and bought a new 20 ft 12,000lb rating dropdeck utility trailer. Dandy! It was smoothest I ever had. No bounce! I got rid 18 ft trailer. One of Chevy driver came and got it a 18ft. He said the trailer is piece of junk shaking his truck. He got it fixed and well satisfied. Without towing I am happy with no bounce.
Here is the trick. Holding a map is AVIS rental car. Avis do not have rental Tundra. Rental car on rough road work detour video taped without showing interior. Gotcha! Fake.
Your an idiot!! That is my boss who is from Seattle, WA. holding his map. Plus, cars don't bounce like that. Maybe if you actually rode in a 07-08 Tundra, you would understand how REAL this video is. Toyota has all my documentation and videos. The whole video shows the exterior of the truck as well. So stop pre-judging something you know NOTHING about. This is as real as it gets! Learn how to write english too!!
truck on the road. Im not dogging them they were built to work, Im just saying I have never driven or ridden in a smooth riding for in years ranging from 65' to 08' everyone of them has been bouncy and stiff as hell. So that why I have a hard time believing the bed bounce video from ford. show me an empty box first.
I have a problem with the bed bounce video that ford put together. That vid would be super easy to cheat and with fords sales lately lord knows they need to cheat. They don't show you the inside of the box. Meaning they could have had weight in the back of the ford. Now don't get me wrong I'm not making a crack at ford, I grew up a northwest country boy so almost every work truck around is a ford, so from that experience I can say that for the last 50 years fords have been the roughest riding
It's always been a big problem on concrete freeways which I traveled alot. Asphalt highways are smooth as silk. I gave the truck to my wife to use cause I travel to L.A. 2-3 times a week and those freeways are horrible.
Then they should make trucks designed for Cali. Your right, these freeways suck! But it's still the worst truck for these freeways. The company I work for has Chevy's and Fords that don't ride this bumpy.
Dream on!! Maybe a Toyota Tacoma. This truck may drive rough on concrete highways, but it will eat up any stock V8 Truck in a drag. Especially a FORD, and it will last a lot longer.
hey soulriderleo, what year did you say your truck was? Have they done anything to fix the problem? And did the truck do it the first time you hit the highway with it? I've been thinking about getting one, but I don't know now...Just trying to get a handle on whether its just your truck or a problem with all the new tundras. I hope you get it all figured out. Holler back, man.
I was in a Cheby and its just as bad. Its a truck, what do you expect, leaf springs and stiff shocks....

I don't know what you're talking about. Ford and Chevy trucks are both some of the smoothest vehicles out there to be in on a freeway.

The truck is fine, get out of Cali and go somewhere where they take care of the roads.

I was asking myself, how come the camera wasn't shaking?
seatownkid82 4 years ago
It's called anti-shake/stabilizer mode and i'm holding the camera. The other videos show it sitting on the console and the dashboard.

like I said, put some weight in the box and get off california freeways

You would have to load it with 1000 lbs to really make a difference, i've tried. A few hundred pounds doesn't help.

it will last a lot longer? are you mental? do you know the camshafts have been exploding in the tundras and the balljoints have been snapping off?
GOOD LUCK WITH THAT 1 BRO.
