Get the Helsinki Concert cd which is Vol 2 of You Can't Do That On Stage Anymore. It features a great performance of Uncle Meat, plus many other great compositions, and lots of smokin' Zappa guitar solos!

In 1994 Band from Utopia a collection of Zappa Musicians got together 6 months after the passing of Frank to pay tribute to Zappa and his music. There were 11 Rehearsals and 2 shows performed (this being the first)what you see is what you get there was no fix it in the mix you played it right and lived with it. All the people involved put there hearts and soul into this ....... Take my word I was there.

I think my favourite Zappa composition. There are different versions: the original Uncle Meat, the version on YCDTOS-2 and the version on Yellow Shark, which is my favourite.

Great stuff! My mom went to school with the Fowler brothers and, to this day, refuses to leave a movie theater until all the credits have run so she can see if any of the Fowlers composed, orchestrated, or played in the film score!

bebop tango is a cool song,and very difficult to play..look for example on Ed when he plays bebop tango ..i can`t understand how he can hit the right pads on the marimba at that high speed..i can post it if you want to ..

Bruce Fowler is possibly the best trombone player i have ever heard. His performance in the song "Be Bop Tango" off Roxy and Elsewhere is incredible.

Wow this is great. I was the guy that brought together this band for a show on the Jazzopen Stuttgart festival in Germany. There is a CD of the show on the market but I never saw this video which had been realized by German TV in coopertion with ARTE. Where did you get this material from? I would love to see more. I¨m so sorry to hear that Kurt McGettrick died. I remember him as a very nice person.

Kurt is playing a Bb ContraBass Clarinet. My friend Kurt McGettrick just died last Sunday night from cancer. He was a GREAT f##king musician!!!!! We used to play music a lot. To read some memories about Kurt, go to the saxontheweb forum, look under "In Memory Of..." It is a huge loss.

Like most recorded FZ shows, it's probably there but the Zappa Family Trust needs alot of money in order to release it on DVD. I've been waiting for the Roxy & Elsewhere show, the 1981 Show at the Palladium in New York, another one from 1974, the Yellow Shark from 1993...I say, keep buying Zappa records until the ZFT has the money to release SOMETHING.
