To all you guys saying "give the game a chance" what you don't understand is that if you give Ninja Theory your $60 so you can try the game and give it a chance, then you are paying them to continue to never make DMC games with the origional Dante in them ever again. By giving this game a chance you are automatically taking away any chance the old Dante has. They want you to sacrifice the old character forvever JUST so their new one can have a chance, thats too heavy a price to pay for a gamble
This game doesn't even come out till possibly the very tail-end of next year and it couldn't be any more than obvious that this isn't a new Dante. It's a very young 17-21 year old version of him pre devil-trigger(before his hair turned white) hence this game will most likely be a prequel to DMC3. If you think about it, Dante probably did have a lot of angst growing up (like anybody with the gnack for killing demons demons would). Character-wise, he'll probably have the same sharp wit as usual.

I think some parts fit to it if you look, i mean he is not the dante we know but it is before everything happened. Ofcourse he is not as cool and mature and strong as the Dante we know since he is still too young. Developers didnt try to make him look cool but instead tried to make him look worse that the real dante since it must show an improvement trough out the story line. @LulzMania1 but so what if his look goes back, his character " Dante's personality" is way to different to get an accurate fit into the story line that's why when you make prequels for anything you don't take out the core dynamics of the character otherwise you ruin the flow and the sense of the story because it's not consistant with the whole origin of the character and this is a prime example of this flaw.

As far as I know, nobody asked Capcom for a re-boot to the series, and there has already been one prequel, how are they gonna do devil trigger and other trademark Devil May Cry type things. Also the developer said they had to make him "cool" again, and I guess because of the Twilight craze this is what is cool now, fuck them, I'm not buying, renting, or playing this game.

DMC 1 begins, we see this white-haired dude and wonder why he has that. Turns out he's a demon. Well, fair enough, he's a demon; that was all the explanation we really needed.
Now I bet in DMC5 there'll be a scene where Dante awakens his demonic POWAAAAHHHH!!! (again, as he did that in DMC3) and his hair will turn white as a result... you know, complete bullshit like that.
