  • is the knuckle thing legal in BJJ?

  • this shit hurts ur neck

  • @killerneon302 That it does. It felt like my head was going to pop off when I had one done on me.

  • This is dangerous, I saw Jake Rosholt hit this on Chris Leben & It was lights out!

  • when you on the side nothing prevents him to roll into you and get out of the choke and etc

  • @azakaramakar12 no leverage for the choke if not on side

  • Dude, go have some one put you in this position and see if you can roll out of it. Lol, ignorance.

The demonstrator is missing a few details that make this even stronger. With the arm under the head, Grab further back, wrapping the hand around the tricep, not bicep. It sinks the choke deeper and requires less leverage when dismounting.

Also, the further the angle you dismount to the opponents side, the tighter the choke, and squeezing tightly with the arms becomes unnecesarry.

  • that is not smart to give up mountain for a side control, what if choke fails?

  • mountain? lmao

  • @crunkjuice699 DONT GIVE UP MOUNTAIN

  • Hahahah! Look at this guy!

Lmfao, he called it mountain and he thinks we down se he is retarded as fuck!

    HAAHAH!

The arm Triangle is my favorite move, and one of the most effective, imo.

(Anaconda is really my favorite, but its rare as shit to get)

  • if choke fails........SLAM!!

  • got it! thanks!

  • THIS IS MY FAVORITE SUBMISSION

  • its almost impossible to get your hips on the floor if youre in mount, their legs wont allow it

  • i thought you were supposed to drive their head into the ground after you get them into the choke

  • Doesn't matter as long as you're bringing everything together.

  • thanks for the clear explainations on the techniques. I find that when I do the arm triangle, I usually end up cranking their neck, instead of choking them. I was wondering if you guys or anyone else had any suggestions for this, because I really don't want to hurt someone's neck, and I would prefer just getting the choke. (what can I say, I'm trying to be a nice guy!!)

  • When crossing the arm, make sure you lift a little upwards. Watch the shoulder of that arm that you cross over because it needs to elevate up. Its like forcing a shoulder shrug on that side. That's going to block the carotid artery on that side of the neck while your other arm sweeps in and blocks off the artery on the other side. So yeah, make sure the elbow of the arm you cross on your is higher than the shoulder, and make sure the shoulder from that arm shrugs up.

  • You "UFC kind of fighting?" MMA my friend. UFC isn't a sport, it's an organization.

  • WOW MY BAD BUT YEA I DIDNT KNOW THAT LOL

  • Very good instructional video. Very detailed. All those little subtleties like where to grab yourself/opponent, or where to position yourself is really important. And this video doesnt leave any questions left in the viewer's head. Good Video.

  • I don't know how it happened but the arm triangle became my bread and butter. If you're in side control and you see someone's arm go up by their head bury your head into the ground and trap their arm against their head. Don't let them slide their arm back under your head and there's a good chance you'll eventually get them. If you lock up the grip from side control and flip your body to the other side of them, it is a very tight choke.

  • Can the knuckle choke knock a man out?> Or is he only taping because it hurts?

  • Oh I assure you- it will send him dreaming...

  • Yeah it can...your opposite bicep and the knuckles cut off the blood to the head........zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz haha

  • I did this knuckle choke today on this dude I was trying to submit for a while now :D

  • Did you knock him out? I'm just curious :D

  • no I didnt

  • Very descriptive bro, awesome job instructing.

  • i find this submission higher percentage than any variation of armbar from mount iv tried.got it loads of times when rolling tonight.

  • shucks today i tried this move. unfortunately i did not put my ear as close to my partners ears. Which i think caused a gap in the triangle choke. He was able to breathe through it. And there i was squeezing like a crazy fucker and eventually gassed and got submitted.

Is it advisible to pull my partner towards me as i go to the side control to minimize the gap?

  • In any submission, space is the enemy. You want to cut out as much space as you possibly can. In short- yes; it is advisable.

  • i think the best way to do the arm triangle, and how joe rogan explains it, is when you have the mount, put your arm around your opponents neck, go to side control and turn like a clock getting tighter and tighter constricting blood to the brain.

  • Yes there is. Please register an account at the site and post your question in the Discussion board. Also, if you're interested in the escapes for techniques, check out our video set called "Defend, Escape, Counter" in the store at our site.

  • is there an escape from an arm triangle ?

  • Has anyone ever heard of a "front naked choke" - like an arm triangle choke, without the opponent's arm in the way ?

I know it is not allowed in competition, but neither are heel hooks, and there are vids of heel hooks.

    Thanks !!!
