  • I'm still trying to find out what went on at 5:28. Slow motion?

  • Both files did a counter march. It does look like slow motion though.

  • he's the reason Atascocita is progressing so well as a new school

  • @bigw2012 Athens? Did you mean Atascocita?

  • @TonitheTater no i meant athens he taught there for a very short time but he turned the program around

  • My freshman year! I loved marching this drill! It was amazing. :)

  • Good job, band.

Although, I have to say, especially when I see you guys in the scorching heat, slowing curling into yourselves like potato crisps, I especially love being an AHS string musician.

    Haha. Good job, guys.

  • Carlos stop bragging bout yourself.

the whole trombone section is the amazing part...we all know that there is going to be 3 trombone drum majors

  • lol listening to you guys bicker always brightens my day

  • THIS IS GREATNESS

  • pretty good i go to ahs

    (ryan beamon)

  • And the baritones need adam back! lol, and i over heard mr.W say somethin bout this kid named carlos, having the potential to be the next drum major....if he keeps his grades up :'(

  • MR.K! The Tbone section needs you back!

  • Great march but on the trio to gallant seventh the drummers are off and yes that is sfa's cadence

  • dont like this kind of music

  • Does anyone know if they used the SFA cadence because they were competing there, or do they use it as their own, like Humble does? I know Russell Caston came from HumbleNinth Campus..

  • HAHAHA! we were joking about that once! saying how he might have just chose the sfa cadence for this performace to get some bonus points or something...

    oh well, its funny anyways

  • Yea it's our normal cadence. I know it's lame because everybody uses it

  • CONGRATULATIONS to the performers and Larry Ward!!! I loved to see this video.

In my country there aren´t bands like this!!!

Kisses to the Ward family from Buenos Aires, Argentina.

    Pali

  • Wow. AHS band is awesome! I was in the Kingwood Band 1995-1998. AHS is extremely lucky to have Mr. Ward. I thought he was a prick most of the time I was at KHS but I was also a stupid kid who hated authority. Don't take him for granted!

  • Same Ward fanfare from Kingwood 1995. Look at it on youtube.

  • I know right? get some new material, geez larry!

  • If you look at some of the shows from Kingwood when he was there, Longview would use elements from the shows, sometimes the very next year. Hey, I have no problem with Larry using good stuff. The man was an important part of my decision to be a music educator. You can tell him I say hi. This is my real name.

    SMK

  • What kind of music educator are you? Where do you teach or are you still in school?

  • Right now, I teach elementary school music in Minnesota. I'm also in grad school up here. KHS c/0 98.

  • wow, from kingwood to minnesota, that's quite a difference. I've never been up north. It sounds like a nice place to live

  • AHS band is awesome....and so is the the person video-taping it...i would be all wobbly...LOL...from a proud AHS students parent...GO EAGLES!!!!!!!!!!!

  • the drum major april gonzalez is my wonderful gf

its crazy because i didn't know the video was on here i just kind of hear her name

  • ooo yall r good, i'm from the montgomery high school band i'm not too far from yall, good luck next year ^^

  • 2 years and Atascocita was already better than Kingwood....must be nice having larry ward as a director...i go to school with alan

  • BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

  • The announcer sounds exactly like one of my band directors..And what's weird is that he actually announces some things!!

  • Sounds like John Green...

  • By the by, AHS band, very nice job. I say that because I am an orchestra student (and thus wouldn't know much of formations and similar esoterica), but from what I can see, it was very nice.

  • Yo, i was pretty nervous out there i was about to pee my pants :(, but i still look good ^.^, O!! and so does the band (im at the right tip of the diamond)

  • wow we pretty much owned

  • aww good job band!

luv a drill team member :)

  • This was a pretty neat drill. I sadly haven't seen Kingwood's drill from this year yet, even though I graduated from there last year. It's going to be interesting when you guys start competing with them as a varsity band.

  • kingwoods drill was really neat especially the freeze in it.

  • absolutely amazing. i hope mr ward comes up with another incredible drill for next year.

  • that was our best performance i think

  • WOOOT! WE OWN NOW! by this time next year kingwood shall kneel to us as the marching gods we are!

  • >.> im seriously just kidding about that last part...^.^ no hard feelings i hope...The kingwood drill was like the funnest thing ever!

  • Saw this performance. GREAT JOB. The joint performance with Kingwood was phenomenal!

  • aww, thanks♥♥♥ :]

  • what the hell is wrong with you lady? your like 26...the school wasnt even around when you went to school! Your a grown women, so act like it! Maturity CHECK! you need to do some soul searching before you come back here! WE DONT DO THAT HERE! NUUUH UUUH! NUUHUH UUUUUH, YOU GOT CAUGHT!

  • RED FLAG!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • X3 indeed! btw, this is peyton, who is this?

  • this is jason, but who is that person and how do you know it is a 26 year old woman?

  • well sounds like someone got up on the wrong side of the bed and needs some sharpie vapors to sniff...

  • if you click her name it says her age on her profile...

  • this is kevin. thats pretty sad that a 26 year old would say that.

  • Kevin Gregory? :awesome

  • yea whos this?

  • Well, I agree with all the AHS kiddos on this one. You do need to grow up. We all know HISD is infamous for its boundaries and its leadership, but posting it so publicly and where the kidswould definately see it is awful. Those kids worked hard for what they accomplished, even though I think Mr. Ward is not the greatest band director, I know when to keep my mouth shut. So keep yours shut! There is a place and time, it is not here or ever. Besides all of that, good job AHS kids!

  • >_> i happen to think mr.ward is pretty tight...^-^;

  • Lol. Atascocita. Fact of the matter is...

Well there is not fact. I suppose you're just being immature (and this is assuming you are actually twenty-six).

  • because it wasn't the best we could've done, for some reason we crunch under pressure.

  • other than the blockbuster though it was one of the best.

  • this band has gotten way better than last year this show is very cool way better than ours ( i go to kingwood high school)

  • well we weren't sure if we had made a superior I was kinda surprised when they announced we did.
