I saw Lamb of God and went omg. This guy is pretty much just gonna chug and chug. Maybe play a lil lick in between each. But then I heard that classical style piece and died. Dude. THat was brilliant. My hats off to ya.
I don't get that hater comment ;< I mean, it was great, I didn't notice anything wrong about your playing. It was just a test, free ride, not a freakin classical etude. Not doing huge-whole-fretboard-sweeps all the time means you are not worth of a 7-string!? Stupid.
So anyway, great playing, I enjoyed it. Keep it up, I bet you're a beast right now \m/
@robthemobthegreat Thanks for your input. Always good to get some extra motivation some time! Just like to note that this viedo is almost three years old, and, while not the first time, one of the first times I got to really play a seven. Once again, thanks for the motivation. Any chance you could post some videos of yourself? I'd really like to learn from the wiz!
@JakeKirbieMUSIC Lets be honest, there are lots of improvements that can be made here! That being said, thank you my friend so much for the gracious comment!
@hopeguitarcanada holy shit white rg ??? this must be a custom guitar not?? love it though. noticed that john petrucci has left he's mark on you, and thats about the biggest compliment i can give a guitarist.
@rentsch13 It is a good guitar. Great if it's your first seven. It's personally not what I prefer in a guitar, but good non the less! Just note that the next are fairly large, and may take some time getting use too. As for the tabs, can you send me your email address, and I will send the file to you?
@jeroen0011 I love having a seven string. I found it to be a very easy transition, though playing one at first is a little different but after a couple plays (I would just practice 6 string songs on the 7 to adjust) and it becomes very natural! I'm now in the process of getting an 8 string!
@edwardvhalen Thank you so much! I've worked really hard to develop my ear for a good tone, and it's nice to hear that it is paying off! It is not the exact setup I use, but very close in tone!
@AHMADF93 I know man, Opeth kicks some major ass! It is a great guitar, but for me, I would need to put some higher output pickups in it. The stock Ibanez are really weak, and kinda muddy. But that only a $300 extra, which in the greater scheme of thing's, isn't that much. As far as the playing goes, thank you so much! I always trying to get better, and doubt my ability's, so it's always nice to here people enjoy your playing!
@scallopedshredify Thanks man, it means a lot. The setup in this video is a stock ibanez going straight into an engl invader, and a engl pro cab with v30's. My home setup is a engl powerball with a marshall mode four v30 cab. I will post some videos of that a soon as I get this cast of, and can play again.
Dude thats awesome i'm thinking about getting a 7 string but not sure what to get i'm thinking about getting anthor BC Rich or a Ibanez.. I play alot of Death Metal / Deathcore. What would you recommend?
@Metalderrik769 Sorry about the long wait to reply. If I were you, I would seriously consider a schecter. They come stock with EMG's or Seymour Duncan black outs (Hellraiser comes with the emg's, blackjack comes the the black outs). I personally am not a fan of active pickups, but they kick ass if you play straight up death metal/deathcore (I play a lot of extreme progressive metal, and use a clean sound a lot, hench why I prefer High output passive). Hope that helps. Sorry for the wait.
@hopeguitarcanada thanks for the raply man and i have been try out a bunch of schecter 7 string but i'm not really liking them to much i mean there okay but from the ones that i have played it's really not the sound i'm looking for and most of them have active pickups and i'm not really a fan of them ether. i'm looking for something that i can get really crushing lows with and couldn't with any of the schecters that i played. but once again thank you for the reply man i really appreciate it.
oh yeah Opeth rules man!!!!!! I am getting that guitar very soon as well. have u changed your pickups? or not? because a lot of people seem to not like them very much and i haven't actually try them. and awesome playing man. keep it up.
@dasotomayor OPETH FUCKING RULES! That aside, I didn't actually get this guitar, I got the MM john petrucci bfr 7 instead. But as far as the pickups go, I would recommend changing them. They are evry weak and muddy. Thanks for the positive comments on my playing. Its always nice to know people enjoy your playing :)
