@0oz little ricer civics do it. 1.6 single and dohc turbo make over 300hp. I'm pretty sure a 100hp boost it easy. My dads 335i twin turbo with a tune can boost over 100hp easily.
Yes little ricer do, in fact, slap a big ass turbo and get big gains. But that's way too much power for a daily driving hatch and let's not forget about the added stress on the engine, turbo lag, and extreme amount of torque steer. IMO, I think like 210 hp is enough, and shed some weight.
Now if Hyundai comes out with a 2.0 lt turbo and AWD, holy shit that would be awesome.
@0oz The stock engine probably can't handle much, My Tiburon can only handle 300hp max and I'm already a little over 200hp. The veloster with 300hp would be similar to the speed3 making almost 270.
@cb7pwn Not really, They've sold a shit ton of Genesis, Tiburon, sonatas, ect. I've seen a lot of velosters on the road now too. I bet people are just waiting for the turbo model veloster over the 4 banger.
The only FWD cars I would ever consider owning are the Cooper S (or JCW) and the Reanultsport Twingo 133, Clio 200 and Megane 265. Too bad Nissan won't bring us any Renaults here in the States.
Hyundai is such a COPYCAT manufacturer. All their cars resemble a combination of all three German manufacturers. The front end of this particular car looks just like an AUDI(Grill, lights, ect...). When will the Asians stop? Come up with your own ideas!
hyundai always seems to have great mpg numbers, but then when car magazines take them out and test them, they come back with much much lower mpg's. and dont say that its because they floor them while they have them, because compared to other cars, hyundais drop considerably more in mpg rating. even hyundai customers report much lower mpg numbers. dont really like hyundai because of that, and the fact that all their cars seem to lack steering feel, outside of the genisis.
This looks great! And the MPG numbers are amazing. Still leaning toward that BRZ though, however this might be the more economical choice, without having to sacrifice 100% of the fun. Can wait to drive one :)
