Suffice to say it's the most awesome anime you'll ever see. :P (But the manga is much better/longer... although if you read the manga you have to start from Vol. 3 p. 169)
@scygon344 I know im a bit late, but better late than ever i guess, even one year late. The way I see it, Berserk's main premise is the subject of fate and if a mortal has any degree of control even over his own fate. Beyond that it deals in a lot of other things, as noted by neiru2012. Great art and story, memorable (awesome) characters; a must read for just about everyone.
