Ah, I remember being an Iksar and sneaking into the overthere to get on that ship.And then having to be scared shitless on the mainland because you were KOS by every other race.
I've played any MMOs since then, but this is the one I still have the strongest and fondest memories of, and it's the oldest.
AHHH, i remember my very first day playing EQ, i jumped on the ship with my lvl1-2 character and was beaten to death by an invisible "Madman" on the ship. I didnt use the ship for quite a while. Turned out it was a bug after i talked to other players, I thought invisible "madmen" that beat the crap out of you on ships weere part of the game..lol
This almost brings tears to my eyes. I started an Erudite Mage long before Iksars and Kunark existed. It was the classic world. This brings me back to an old Psychology college course that says that memories are never actually lost, we just lose the paths. Things I have not remembered in 12 years are coming back to me like a waterfall. It's amazing what music can do!
I remember leaving my lvl 6 Barbarian warrior on a boat and going to shower. When I came back she'd fallen off while zoning. It was a long journey that I was making from Halas down to Qeynos and then across to Faydwer.

lol remember being a newb and was on one of theese ships and got in the water somehow and swam around like forever untill I died, btw saw an island with huge high level dinosaurs on before dying:P....
i member hatin this song after a while, fell off boat somehow omw to fv and i had to swim around for wot seemed like an hour tryin to find the zone line.
So... who else somehow glitched off the boat by running through the wall in the cabin?

I too was Iksar, boat travelling could mean 3hours+ to get to a destination from all the time stowing away from guards and pk (i was vallon zek)

This is easily one of my favorite EQ classics.
EQ's music has had a definite effect on my own composition style. I'm not quite up to this calibur yet, but it's still fun.

Ack! Boats! I can't remember how many times I fell off on the Ocean of Tears and had to swim to the Sister's Island. Bad memories of an awesome game.
