So okay, the movie wasn't the greatest. We get it. Clive Barker is an amazing author and his stories have had their ups and downs in terms of movie adaptations. Yet, I still have a soft spot for this film version. I remember watching it back in the 80's with my Brother and one of our friends. Sure, the effects are awful and the story is all over the place, but it's still good 'ol B Movie fun!

Have just watched this movie for the umpteenth time (I luckily own a copy on DVD from 2003!). The special effects are poor (we all know that) Back then they were below standard due to the non existent budget however the story is rock solid.

Scared the bejesus out of me when I was a kid - that bit where he jumps out of the ground near the beginning.

I seriously hope they remake this with a decent budget and do the story the justice it deserves. Please remake this Clive!

I didnt know they made a movie of this until 1998.

At that time I had the graphic nover version which portrayed raw head rex in a different way. Very tall Skinny and nude with a face and head that were really creepy.

To me this plastic mask looking crap is not raw head rex. If they ever do a remake I hope its using the comic book version.

The short story is awesome, one of my favorites. The movie suffers from no budget, the monster looks like a deranged muppet and the lights look ho-key.

The acting isn't bad and they got a lot right in the telling, the effects just ruin it.

This is based on one of the short sories by Clive Barker (Hellraiser, Candyman). It`s not among the best he has written but is still pretty good. Havent seen this movie, but it looks pretty cheap. Rawhead rex looks like a guy wearing a Halloween costume :(
