People seem to forget one of their early aims was to "avoid making music, while making music" to quote a young Blixa Bargeld during an old interview. So very much Dada in an essence. And if you're not sure what Dada is, look it up on Wikipedia or something. I for one find myself completely addicted to this. It is what destruction sounds like, like an orchestra of steel and sound.
This is from the Halber Mensch video I think, this was recorded in Japan immediately after they played the most Godlike show that I have ever seen in a junkyard here in Denver, (many locals in the "scene" still describe it as a "defining moment" to this day).
We mixed some Neubauten stuff "Fütter meinen Ego" with the famous Hans Albers classic-style song "Auf der Reeperbahn nachts um halb eins" in an bavarian discothek named "Happy Rock" in the retarded zones (Oberpfalz). Yes - dis was heavy...
iamguitarmutt is right. "the true Heavy Metal" that it is. as in opposite to wannabe sinister heavy metal buffoons shaking their silly hairdos. cant you see and hear the rusty iron? i almost feel it on my hands when i am listen to it.
" "true" "dark" Industrial" "punk"" ?what kind of pigeonhole is that? anal retentive babble definition.
if you lack the wit and need some 'heavy' 'facts'. EN first tape release was called 'Stahlmusik' (steel music) on the label 'eisengrau' (iron-grey).
I've been a Neubauten fan since 2006 yet, I must admit this is one of their most unmusical endeavors. If this style isn't your thang, try Tabula Rasa, Alles Wieder Offen, or maybe even Jewels. Those 3 albums of theirs will most likely show you einsteurtzende neubauten can be musical as well as totally insane.
nevermind if you like the sound of crains or machines or what ever it is but world is wide..don't put yourself in the small scope..not just listen to one then said it's complex!
Well done
One night, in a place near the sea, we played this piece. A visitor (a Liverpudlian carpenter) came in to listen and ask us what it was. The next morning he told us about a nightmare, in it a giant creature appearing with this sound ...
@NIMRODakaNIMROD one of the weakest?? man, I respect you taste, but I can't really get that heh - for me it's one of the best track in all of their history! for me probably the best on the album, along with Seele Brennt!
Well, as you already noted: It's a matter of taste. Yet still, mainly lyrics-wise, to me it's one of their weaker songs (compared to,e.g. ,Seele Brennt) and "melodically" it resembles their earlier experimental efforts and thus doesn't really fit an album like 1/2 Mensch, which consists of arguably more structured and really more song-like material... Not that I held any grudge against their earlier stuff, but as I said: On the album it's a bit like a relic from their earlier days
Meh, not strange enough for me.

Absolutely brutal, bloodcurdling, suffocating, and fantastic. This is some of the most powerfully original music ever made.

is this just played at slower speed or some special version?
ahh, at the end it becomes more clear - slower speed. blixas singing gave the hint.
nice effect - how it has changed the noise. more drones.
i would like to hear it even slower played if it would be possible to filter out the the blixa part.

PeaceF0rc3s, I think this kind of music is too complex for you to understand.
But don't say it's shit, because this is art.

Dont be such a pretentious fag.
Saying stuff like "It´s too complex for you" is just ignorent.
Music is, when it all comes down to it, supposed to sound good. Some people think this sounds good some dont, it doesnt matter if it is too complex.
