Omg i remember this :3 Many people say this level is too hard and they get pissed but i liked it so much that just by hearing this i remember all the acts by memory. Trap by trap. I wish could go back when i was 4-6 and used to play this. I can still play it but nothing will change the feelings of playing in my megadrive again. Now it doesn't work :/ Btw, that damn boss at act 3 is almost impossible to defeat. So many tries...I miss the old school games and i'm 13. I used to play those alot.

Growing up I had a Sega Genesis with all of the original Sonic games. I got Sonic Mega Collection for the PS2, and my husband hates it. He was raised on Mario and says "Sonic is too hard." Thumbs up if you also see this as a compliment.

This level was hard. But listening to this made it easy. BUBBLES! I remember getting my genesis bundled with altered beast and you could send away for Sonic for free. The 6-8 weeks for shipping was certainly worth it. This game nearly took market control away from Nintendo and deserves to be ranked amongst the best of all time.

The emphasis on originality, and sound were very important before and to this day i still remember the whole sonic soundtrack, levels, etc.

@close2silent I know what you mean, but that's probably because we're old. It's human nature to look upon the past with rose tinted glasses. I mean that freakin barrel in act 3 used to make me rage so hard as a kid, and there were still plenty of awful sega/snes games. The kids that grow up today will just have different aspects of gaming that they value, like interactivity and online multiplayer. That's my take on it anyway, it sucks for us but it's not necessarily worse; just how we see it.

@kirbyfan1005 -- Well, that'd keep his feet from burning up (and him from getting any traction, so he wouldn't go anywhere). But yeah, presumably, he'd be able to run and his feet wouldn't burn. But the rest of him would be burnt to a crisp by his own speed. Plus, he wouldn't be able to breathe at that speed--he'd have to stop to catch a breath, then resume his run.

@7heAre7s In Sonic 2 he is only in space for a short amount of time before he can get onto Death Egg. In S&K I am assuming that the Death Egg has some kind of force/hard field to keep an atmosphere in, and in Doomsday zone Sonic is Super/Hyper so it wouldn't matter :D

Obs.: If you can't pass by a level in Sonic 1, go to the open menu, and press up, down, left, right, while Sonic appears, if you press right, you'll hear a ring sound, then, you have to press start and square at the same time to go to the level select. In Sonic 2, you have to go to options, select sounds 19, 64, 09, 17
