People who remember a period of Soviet regime like eating tangerines, homemade salads and cheap kick-off champagne because that was almost nothing but this kind of food 20 years ago and earlier and they feel sort of nostalgic about that :-)

There's a lot of DIY Jack Frosts also who buy red coats and caps and pick up some money visiting children who read some poetry and sing songs. Sometimes even parents pass off for those analogues of Santa Clauses :-)

And there's officially no such a holiday as Christmas so most of gifts and speeches are usually being given during the last day of the year which is really overwhelming sometimes...
