  • Thanks for sharing your Homecoming experience. My son is a 0331 CAAT II currently assigned with the BLT 2/2 Warlords G Co. on the 22 MEU returning home in February 2012 from a long deployment since March 2011. I am anxious and excited with anticipation for my first experience as he returns after watching your video. "Thank You" LCpl Randy Novak for your unselfish dedication and service to give us our daily freedom!! OoRah!!

  • @mkb251930 Funny but that is were my son is now too. Our son's are on the same ship. : )

  • @campbelljuliea - Small world!! This will be my son's first deployment, and a long one at that. It has been over a year since I last saw him, so I wouldn't miss it for the world!! Thanks for your tips in your posts as well as I'll be sure use them!! If you are going, maybe I'll see you there in February. I will be sure to ask my son if he met your son. Godspeed to everyone heading HOME. Won't be long now!! :-)

  • @mkb251930 I heard that they may not have email access towards the last few days before arrival so if that is true you will have to make sure you keep up with the FRO post. Times have not been posted but you should know your sons day of arrival. I already have my stuff to bake welcome home cookies for he and the guys. Have sign making material to put at the front gate too. Fun planning. That would be funny if our son's know each other. Feb. can't come fast enough. Proud Marine Mom

  • @campbelljuliea Last message a couple weeks ago said they would not have more access probably. I have been keeping up with FRO, ships ombudsman, pre-recorded messages, eMarine, etc. Maybe sometime next week we'll get times. I have all my reservations done, 3 x 6 and 4 x 8 banners already shipped and coming this week. If they are on the same ship, then I can almost say for certain they know each other. Now just waiting for the "BIG DAY" with anticipation!!

  • AWH! my marine comes home in june were at lejuene too!! im nervous! i never been there for a homecoming!!! cant wait XD happy yours got home safe :)

  • @tbearsamor - You will have the best time. Don't get anxious. Being to prepare Homecoming signs & banners. Keep in touch with the FRO about dates of arrival. Everything is subject to change but it helps to make some plans. Be flexible. Rest well before you travel to the base so your waiting is more relaxed. If the arrival is at night I suggest to bring a flash light so you can find your Marines sea bags. As you can see in the movie bags are all dumped in a huge pile. Let me know if I can help?

  • There is nothing like a homecoming. The JOY you will feel is like no other. Blessings to your husband for his service.

  • I can't wait for my husband to come home. This video is great. Thank you.

  • Great video!! I cried because it brought back similar memories from my son's homecoming. Thanks to LCpl. Novak, and also his family - for all of the sacrifices made during deployment and service to our country.

  • This vid made me teary lol. My bf is in the Marines and we've been going happily for 7 1/2 months and he wants to be lifer and he hasn't been deployed yet and I'm in no hurry for that to happen but I know sometime it will come and will of course remain Semper FI :). God Bless those who serve!

  • My son's wife got through it and kept busy. If your bf is deployed I highly recommend you network with other Marine families/gf's/wives for support. Don't do it alone and pray, pray, pray. God bless those who serve and strengthen the families supporting them. Amen.

  • Mine will be home in 2 weeks, he's fighting in the same place, this video gives me a little incite on what to expect. Thank you,

    and thank him.

If your Marine is at Camp Lejeune then I am sure his homecoming will be the same. Hopefully your son will get in during the daylight hours. Keep the FRO 800 # with you and be sure to check because his time changed 3 times in a 24 hr period and they were still 4 hours late. They still have to turn in weapons before setting them free to be with you and family. It will be a wonderful day and a day you will never forget. Julie - 2/2 Marine Mom

  • @ababyepic

I guess it is not your son but your boyfriend, fiance or husband..... sorry about that. I am so use to Marine mom's replying to me. My son's fiance was there for Randy's homecoming and she could not eat or sleep the night before and she was nervous that she was pacing before the buses as they rolled in. It was the best gift she had ever had. She is the same age as you. Good luck! Julie
