@spinoguy Very good point. Toho was very lazy with Godzilla's revenge. Basically it's just Godzilla vs The Sea Monster & Son of Godzilla put together in one movie. But "hey" I still like the movie on the account because I'm a die hard Godzilla fan. But I'm not going to act like Toho wasn't bullshitin either. Real talk.

Worst Kaiju movie ever and Viras don't impress me much. The ailens were lame and corny trying at times to be like Monster Zero or Destroy All Monsters when they controlled Gamera. Viras would be no match for Gigan.

I thought the fight at the end was pretty good in this film, but that is about the only good thign about this film. I also always thought it was really stuid and lazy how they used stock footage from the first Gamera film to use for scenes where the aliens are controlling Gamera to destroy the city.

@Ghidorah1986 Oh yes, the constant use of stock footage is what sealed it for me. I mean I don't mind a little thrown in there from time to time. But not like 25 minutes in a row.

Gamera is the same cool as usual but the kids ARE ANNOYING and the new monster is really lame looking. Im not the biggest fan of this one at all.

And all of the stock footage for 19 minutes and 50 seconds (props for counting) is just way too much.

I give this one a VERY weak 2 out of 5.

I remember seeing this many, many years ago. All I remember about it is the two boys' unintentional meeting with Viras ("Hey, it smells like fish in here...") and then Gamera flying/pushing the Viras up into the upper levels of the atmosphere where it (and not Gamera)proceeds to freeze to death...or something to that effect.

I agree, the stock footage slows down the whole show. However, "Gamera, Super Monster", is by far the worst offender of the Stock Footage crime. This film is a masterpiece compared to that one.

Joe: Good review Dan this movie looks like crap ill aviod it! whats with the bad guy showing up at the last five minutes of the movie? it seems like this film does nothing really good, i see why it got a 2 out of five. I agree with the "fusing effect" looking fake as well no creativity here! Im glad these films got better later on. Good review dan ill be looking forward to the next.

The person who played Jim was a guest at F-Fest 2005 & 2008. His real name is Carl Craig. This movie was OK for me and one has to keep in mind Noriaka Yuasa's (who made the original Gamera films) intention for these films; he made them specifically for young kids. Depsite there being some carnage and blood in some of the movies (ex. Gamera vs Gyaos)..btw..Noriaka Yuasa was a guest at two of the conventions (2000 and 2003). Nice review as always!

Yeah, I know they where original made for a younger audience. Its just some of the things about the films baffle me. Not saying that I hate the movies or anything. That would have been sweet to be at G-fest that year. Thanks for the comment

I know that one is the next Gamera movie up for review. I bought the DVD but I don't know if its the Sandy Frank one or not. That was actually the first Gamera movie that I saw....I think that was about 100 years ago.
