The Americans are more afraid of the sex (instinct of life) that of the violence (Instinct of death), It is probably the reason why they like so much the violence and the war, and why they invent non-stop of new enemies. For all these reasons, I can rely never completely in somebody who say to believe in god. God is a story for the children. It is necessary time for the Americans to become adults! Hurrah for the burning man ! (;=))
I am French and completely atheistic of course. It is very funny for me to read these comments speaking of “luciferian ritual”, when it is a question only of expressing the joy of living. The religion really became a grave shape of neurosis to many Americans.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I find it interesting that so many people are willing to engage in this Luciferian ritual known as Burning Man. The fact that they have had to cap the Black Rock City population because it has grown so fast in the last 10 years is also fairly telling, as is the fact that similar sites are popping up around the United States to meet this hedonistic demand. To take part in Burning Man is to help those who practice the occult. This has its price and it is larger than the $300 price of admission.
@thetruthisoutthere32 You are certainly entitled to your opinion, of course, but I believe your viewpoint is based on a predisposed "filter" that equates "hedonistic" fun that doesn't follow standard social norms as Satanic. You make a very large logical leap there, and I expect that you actually have never been to Burning Man. So you are just seeing people on video doing a lot of wild things that aren't in your daily life, and therefore they are different and (apparently) occultish.
@thetruthisoutthere32 When I have been to Burning Man, "occult", "Luciferian", and such never applied (unless someone was parodying it, such as my "Snowball's Chance In Hell" snowcone stand). Hedonistic, yes, but in a much more benign and free form way than your association of unrestrained fun = Luciferian. Yet if someone wants to do something there related to the occult, they are welcome to do so. :-) It's "true libertarian" expression of fun, art, performance, community.
@thetruthisoutthere32 Please indulge me..what about what goes on a burning man is luciferian? Ive seen you on a few othr videos preaching these theories with no information backing it up
@Groovingforwardatx - Do your own homework. It is not my job to teach you what you should be able to see for yourself. If you do not see, then it is doubtful I will convince you with reason.
It's all kinda interesting but none of it, NONE, compares to the simple magic of a desert night sky, awash with glittering diamonds. Or the mesmerizing beauty of a flock of Monarch butterflies adrift on a field of wild flowers... So much forced, contrived, manufactured, ego driven activity where a little quiet time would be so much more sublime....
@KingKook Hi King Kook, I certainly agree with you on the beauty of the desert night sky, butterflies, and wild flowers, but I choose to see beauty in the creative energy and unique community of Burning Man as well. I choose to enjoy both, and believe they can both be part of amazing life experiences. Separate and different, and perhaps each is actually accentuated by the existence of the other.
@CelebrateBig Ah yes, Unicorns, Gumdrops, and Tax Free High Yield Municipal Bonds - Equal if not Superior to the Majesty of Nature...Yeah sure, naked bods and freaky contraptions is way cool, but I have lived through that Carnival Side Show, and it's not the FACT of it with which I am exhausted, but the fantastical delusional hype that accompanies it. Good Dead shows were extreme experiences, deeply moving & sublime, but for the money and energy I could have been doing better things. What?...
@CelebrateBig - you stated it beautifully and if you want quiet beauty and the playa... just go to the Temple right before sunrise and find Nirvana in nature and art. and the sacredness of the human emotions left on the walls. Burning Man in my mind... is one of the ultimate places to go and experience your fellow humankind with the ancient playa, old as time and nature beneath your feet. Can't wait to go to Rites of Passage... have my tickets and its like 90 days away now.. and counting..
@mwitty100 Well said as well, Mwitty. The extremes of the excitement, energy, and all 5 senses from the night before makes the beauty and quiet even more appreciated as part of the daily rhythm at Burning Man.
@KingKook It is all a matter of what you find to be your own Paradise. One is not better than another, simply different. The joy I find in Nature is the quiet and beauty.... In Burning Man, the joy I find is in experiencing my fellow human spirits in all their majesty and diversity. It is all Good... Nature and Man... there is great beauty and truth in both.
@person11392 All of that weird stuff sprouts out of the dry lake bed like flowers, and whithers back away into the playa for another year. Interesting lifecycle. :-) The other answer is: lots of cars, trucks, flatbeds, RVs, and even the occasional bicycle and hitchhiker, all bringing their stuff with them. We rented a big moving truck one year for a larger installation, and were able to pack into station wagons later for a smaller camp.
@CelebrateBig - Let us not forget the airplanes, Lear Jets and other aircraft that fly into the Black Rock City Airport..... with people and their gear. .... I love Burning Man.....
@CelebrateBig - That is a monetary transport truth. I get there in a 86 Ford Ranger Truck and camp in a maroon and blue rennaisance fair pavilion at 9:30 and H, by the bathrooms, but it is all Paradise to me. I am always amazed at what other people bring and that is what builds the Black Rock City. Every year I go, when I see the City, it looks like it just dropped down from space. I live in Reno, NV so I go to the Playa and without the City it is just an amazing eternal vastness.
@CelloPlaya08 Yes, that is a sad day, CelloPlaya. But... think of it this way for next year: if you save just a buck a day, and you buy your ticket early, you'll more than cover the ticket for next year plus have some leftover for costume and food! :-)
@RealLoveRevolution just remember to drink as much water as you can before you step foot on the playa, and keep drinking water, unless you are accustom to a hot dry environment that first day can be a real downer, also pack in a good electrolyte replacement drink mix, with low sugar its a great pick me up when you start to drag. as well as breath strips great way to clear the throat from playa dust. and a hint, bring your own cup and plate with you where ever you travel, you never know
@clockworksackboy Great advice, Clockworks! Also, the main Burning Man site has a helpful "First Timer's Guide" that is necessary reading for BM Virgins everywhere.
@Ellieurs Thanks for the kind comments, Ellieurs. Definitely agreed on the good memories... every time I watch it I get Homesick to go back! Hope you get back on the playa soon...
@Dalai0Lama00rocks Oooooohhhhh, that sounds very intriguing, Dalai Lama! Nice home while at Home, but just make sure they stand up well to windy dust storms!

burning man is just absolutely amazing, not to mention all the good feelings, it kills negativity, burning man is a MUST for anybody wth a sense of existence
@some18youknow Hey, Some18youknow, it is about "in the middle of nowhere" as you can get in the continental US, which is part of the point of where it occurs... no neighbors to bother with thundering techno and explosions around the clock. :-) It happens every year on the dry playa north of Gerlach, Nevada.
@flyingsnoop Hey, folks come from all over the world! Perhaps hook up with some local Burners and caravan together out this way, share the trip and costs and experience, and then you'll be a full fledge member of the cult. :-)
@tzf6g9 Yes, actually. :-) It's pretty "open minded", but you can literally walk around for the entire week and not see a single drug. Are drugs some places there? Absolutely. But if you're not looking for that, it won't find you. The event is psychedelic enough on its own even if you're only high on life!
@Phatmattheriverrat Hey Phatmattheriverrat, if you haven't been out to the playa yet, I hope you can join us! The "onsite version of reality" you'll love even more. :-) Thanks!
Very nice film! I never even thought about going until this year. Your film is one of my first forays into what it is all about. Completely fantastical. Thanks for posintg.
@flamulated Cool, Flamulated. And you just so happen to have just under an entire year to get ready for next year's shindig. :-) Hope you make it out to the playa to enjoy the magical experience first hand.
at stop in mountains on way back from first burn. cathartic, mind-blasting (and dust-blasted) experience, and glad i didn't bring a camera. but thank you for posting this, which hints slightly at the totality of it, which is the best anyone could hope in a video
@CandyKing145 CandyKing145, you too can one day make your hopes and dreams come true... :-) First step is to say, "yes, I'm definitely going next year", and then do it. Good luck!
@veveM Thank you, veveM. The 4 main soundtrack songs are all by Moby (used with permission). There are also a few other short snippet songs from directly onsite. The main Moby songs are (with approximate time spot locations in the video):
@crazynip Just letting Crazynip see that I will approve even completely pointless comments from people who hide behind the anonymity of their distant keyboard and don't provide anything productive or friendly to an e-conversation. Crazynip, sorry to see that you feel compelled to use "gay" as an epithet. I wish you well on your journey of personal growth.
Burning Man 2010, here I come! Here's a short list of the alkaloids that will hopefully enter my awaiting gullet during this desert extravaganza:
1. Molly
2. LSD
3. Shrooms
4. Opiates of every brand and potency
5. Pot from around the globe
6. Adderall/Ritalin/Other stimulant for wakey-wakey
...also planning to engage in some nudity, dancing, drumming and general debauchery. No deeper spiritual search here, just enjoyment of youth, freedom and nature.
@MsNooneinparticular You certainly have a mission with focus. BM can make your dreams come true, whatever they may be. Enjoy every minute of it, especially those that you can remember later! :-)
@bluesbob Hear ye, hear ye! In the year 2010 Anno Domini, let it be known that BluesBob will be officially DeVirginated. May he be well spanked at the entrance gate, and forever after.
@psyfertech Hey Psyfertech, the majority of folks bring tents, though there are an increasing number of RVs, vans, etc. on the playa. Just remember that whatever you bring will be thoroughly encrusted with an extremely fine dust, in every nook and cranny imaginable. If you own your own RV, plan on a major cleaning operation afterwards. If you rent, plan on the same or large clean-up costs, and some RV companies specifically exclude rentals to Burning Man. Lot easier to hose out a tent.
@CelebrateBig oh wow, thanks for lettin me know, i wanted to go this year but i ddnt really plan ahead and dont have that much money to travel all the way from florida, and yea i figured it would be hard to clean ur vehicle afterwards
@Wimosip Save every penny, nickle, and dime. It will be one of the best "personal investments" you can make, even if you just go once. And be sure to go for the whole week!
@Wimosip The world's a big place and the world's a small place... the bigger issue may just be getting adjusted to the time zone difference, so allow some extra days in advance. On second thought, you'll be perfectly set for staying up all night on the playa, since you'll be on Germany time!
@Voltaire805 Yes, but not the usual camping under trees in a campground! :-) No trees, lots of heat and dust, but the "camp fires" are MUCH bigger than anything you'll see camping elsewhere, and the "Rangers" are of a different breed who are completely fine with loud party music and interacting with your neighbors 24 hours a day.
@pinkpikachu5500 I rarely hear about different generations going together, so that is very cool. You should both have a great time, especially when you come in with your adventurous and open spirit.
Hey Nicknacmania, surely you've traveled for a vacation before? You just need to figure out how to get to Nevada: car, bus, carpool, etc. The much harder thing than getting there for most people is being truly prepared for creatively contributing to the event plus not having access to electricity, water, supermarket, showers, etc. for an entire week. I'd recommend finding out about local Burner events or parties near you, hooking up with some folks, and creating a camp together.
An easy starting point is the Regionals section of the Burningman (dot) com website, and from there you can start getting contacts and suggestions for smaller venues/parties as well.
who, or what group, puts this on? How much does it cost to get in? How long does it last? What would I have to do to prepare myself to attend something like this? What to bring and so on. (I'm an older adult). I just wanna go!
Grannynara, definitely go! You can find answers to all of your questions and more at the Burning Man website. They have a "First Timer's Guide" that is the best place for you to start learning about all the particulars.
Sounds like you might know the smell of caked-on playa dust in your nostrils, Lowlandr. :-) Gotta love cleaning out every nook and cranny of everything you brought to BM for a year afterwards, huh? Every time that dust again hits the air, the smell brings back great memories.
It is certainly possible to be homesick for the playa, Komarny. That means you need to go soon. :-) When they welcome you at the entrance gate, the Greeters even say "Welcome Home"!
Hi again Komaromy. By chance, that song just came on Pandora while I was listening to it! The song that starts around 4:02 is "Satisfaction" by Benny Benassi on his album "The Biz - Hypnotica".
If i got it right the songs in the vid. are mainly from Moby as you said, the names of the tracks and the minutes when they aper are as you lined them, right ?
Cos villiny asked the question i wanted to ask but he beat me to it :D
The 4 main soundtrack songs are all by Moby (used with permission). There are also a few other short snippet songs from directly onsite. The main Moby songs are:
Thank you, Cork. There is LOTS of space out there on the playa to do some hooping, so hopefully you get the opportunity to show everyone your own hooping special sauce, BM style!
Look at is an investment in yourself, Calloptions, that will pay much larger dividends than the euros spent initially, with a payback over the course of your entire life afterwards. :-)
Nothing to be sorry about there, Moose. Thanks for the nice vibes and hopefully we'll wander into each other out on the playa-of-the-world soon enough!
Various places at different times... Xanadu... the original Snowball's Chance In Hell... With a large group or a small flock of friends... stuff like that.
Damn it. This is possibly the best vid I've seen on burning man. Most of the other ones made me not wanna go but this one! WOW I seriously have to go..... I'm guessing its okay to bring drugs =P
Hey, thank you, Lemonsthemelon! Cool vibes from you on that. Regarding your question: it's best to bring an open mind for anything, and everything else is optional and free form up to you. :-)
I do strongly recommend going the whole week if you can. The beginning of the week has a completely different vibe and sense of community than the hectic party at the end of the week, and of course both parts of the week are an amazing experience. The full week really rounds it out, and considering how much effort it takes to be on the playa try for the week. That said, going for three days will likely be three of the most memorable days in your life so far, so go for it!

tzf6g9 1 year ago
@tzf6g9 Yes, actually. :-) It's pretty "open minded", but you can literally walk around for the entire week and not see a single drug. Are drugs some places there? Absolutely. But if you're not looking for that, it won't find you. The event is psychedelic enough on its own even if you're only high on life!

Sick video!! I love it!!!!
Phatmattheriverrat 1 year ago
@Phatmattheriverrat Hey Phatmattheriverrat, if you haven't been out to the playa yet, I hope you can join us! The "onsite version of reality" you'll love even more. :-) Thanks!
CelebrateBig 1 year ago
Very nice film! I never even thought about going until this year. Your film is one of my first forays into what it is all about. Completely fantastical. Thanks for posintg.
flamulated 1 year ago
@flamulated Cool, Flamulated. And you just so happen to have just under an entire year to get ready for next year's shindig. :-) Hope you make it out to the playa to enjoy the magical experience first hand.
CelebrateBig 1 year ago
at stop in mountains on way back from first burn. cathartic, mind-blasting (and dust-blasted) experience, and glad i didn't bring a camera. but thank you for posting this, which hints slightly at the totality of it, which is the best anyone could hope in a video

@ethangold Thank you for the report from your decompression ride back, Ethangold. You are officially devirginated now. :-)

you would have to approve comments, i thought burnouts were about freedom of expression?
crazynip 1 year ago

No deeper spiritual search here, just enjoyment of youth, freedom and nature.
...at least I'm honest.

when u go here is it probably best to have an rv? or is there a lot of ppl who just bring tents?
psyfertech 1 year ago
@psyfertech Hey Psyfertech, the majority of folks bring tents, though there are an increasing number of RVs, vans, etc. on the playa. Just remember that whatever you bring will be thoroughly encrusted with an extremely fine dust, in every nook and cranny imaginable. If you own your own RV, plan on a major cleaning operation afterwards. If you rent, plan on the same or large clean-up costs, and some RV companies specifically exclude rentals to Burning Man. Lot easier to hose out a tent.
CelebrateBig 1 year ago
@CelebrateBig oh wow, thanks for lettin me know, i wanted to go this year but i ddnt really plan ahead and dont have that much money to travel all the way from florida, and yea i figured it would be hard to clean ur vehicle afterwards
psyfertech 1 year ago
@psyfertech Sure thing. Save the money on the RV, get a big old tent that does well in the wind and dust, and GO! :-)

Wimosip 1 year ago
@Wimosip Save every penny, nickle, and dime. It will be one of the best "personal investments" you can make, even if you just go once. And be sure to go for the whole week!
CelebrateBig 1 year ago
@Wimosip The world's a big place and the world's a small place... the bigger issue may just be getting adjusted to the time zone difference, so allow some extra days in advance. On second thought, you'll be perfectly set for staying up all night on the playa, since you'll be on Germany time!
CelebrateBig 1 year ago
I wish i can get there this year!!!!!!!it's f...king amazing!!!

@shetichek Completely agreed, Shetichek! The good thing is... next year it will come back and so can you. :-)

..Camping at it's best! :-)
Voltaire805 1 year ago
@Voltaire805 Yes, but not the usual camping under trees in a campground! :-) No trees, lots of heat and dust, but the "camp fires" are MUCH bigger than anything you'll see camping elsewhere, and the "Rangers" are of a different breed who are completely fine with loud party music and interacting with your neighbors 24 hours a day.

Nicknacmania 1 year ago
Hey Nicknacmania, surely you've traveled for a vacation before? You just need to figure out how to get to Nevada: car, bus, carpool, etc. The much harder thing than getting there for most people is being truly prepared for creatively contributing to the event plus not having access to electricity, water, supermarket, showers, etc. for an entire week. I'd recommend finding out about local Burner events or parties near you, hooking up with some folks, and creating a camp together.
CelebrateBig 1 year ago
@CelebrateBig thank you! how do i find out about burner events/parties?
Nicknacmania 1 year ago
An easy starting point is the Regionals section of the Burningman (dot) com website, and from there you can start getting contacts and suggestions for smaller venues/parties as well.

who, or what group, puts this on? How much does it cost to get in? How long does it last? What would I have to do to prepare myself to attend something like this? What to bring and so on. (I'm an older adult). I just wanna go!
grannynara 1 year ago
Grannynara, definitely go! You can find answers to all of your questions and more at the Burning Man website. They have a "First Timer's Guide" that is the best place for you to start learning about all the particulars.
CelebrateBig 1 year ago
bravo! I could almost smell it :)
lowlandr 1 year ago
Sounds like you might know the smell of caked-on playa dust in your nostrils, Lowlandr. :-) Gotta love cleaning out every nook and cranny of everything you brought to BM for a year afterwards, huh? Every time that dust again hits the air, the smell brings back great memories.
CelebrateBig 1 year ago
I's so homesick for the playa, even though I've never been! (is that possible??)
Sorry to bother you with more music questions, but does anyone know what the techo song is that starts at about 4:02 and continues till 4:22?
komaromy 1 year ago
It is certainly possible to be homesick for the playa, Komarny. That means you need to go soon. :-) When they welcome you at the entrance gate, the Greeters even say "Welcome Home"!
CelebrateBig 1 year ago
Hi again Komaromy. By chance, that song just came on Pandora while I was listening to it! The song that starts around 4:02 is "Satisfaction" by Benny Benassi on his album "The Biz - Hypnotica".

Why are all the places that nurture amazing events and thoughts thousand-euro-away :(

Look at is an investment in yourself, Calloptions, that will pay much larger dividends than the euros spent initially, with a payback over the course of your entire life afterwards. :-)

lemonsthemelon 2 years ago
Hey, thank you, Lemonsthemelon! Cool vibes from you on that. Regarding your question: it's best to bring an open mind for anything, and everything else is optional and free form up to you. :-)
CelebrateBig 2 years ago
well i might go bm 10 with my sister it looks exciting too bad i could only go 3 days
dumbname9 2 years ago
I do strongly recommend going the whole week if you can. The beginning of the week has a completely different vibe and sense of community than the hectic party at the end of the week, and of course both parts of the week are an amazing experience. The full week really rounds it out, and considering how much effort it takes to be on the playa try for the week. That said, going for three days will likely be three of the most memorable days in your life so far, so go for it!
CelebrateBig 2 years ago
well i have school so maybe i could skip a couple of days to go

Burning Man IS school. It just has a different kind of curriculum. Much more valuable than any textbook and lecture! :-)
