  • great TV from a bygone era. He drove a Lincoln Mark IV for most of the series, save the last year when he had a Thunderbird

  • Wonderful series...this one....I've never solved the question...Was he Robert Conrad's father? I've heard both ways.

  • remenber this loved it

  • 2 BAD THEY DON'T MAKE TV SHOWS LIKE DIS ANYMORE!!

  • I'll take a '70s police show over any grisly law drama that brainwashes us into accepting homosexuality any day!

  • Cannon and The Streets of San Fran., can be seen on MEtv (Memorable Entertainment Television) is like what TV Land used to be; check MEtv's website for city, state, days, time, and channels.

  • why were there so many police and detective shows on american tv in the 70s?

  • Saw the pilot film, which was really good, when it first aired. Later was happy to hear it was going to be a series, but was a bit let down. The series was never as good. Would really like to see this pilot film again -- been waiting since 1970.

  • What a cavalcade of stars!

  • What a great cast for a pilot!

  • Interesting that the opening sequence changed. Luckily, the theme music did not.

  • They had some major stars in this one, must be why they had to say point out they were listed in "alphabetical order"

  • cannon has an excellent upbeat theme

  • Classic my dad loved to watch. I started liking it because of him.

  • yeah yeah rock on, big fat cannon

  • "Who is that fat guy running around?" LOL!

  • Quinn Martin went to Fred Silverman saying "I've got William Conrad interested in doing a detective series", Silverman agreed to order a pilot. Reportedly in the middle of showing the completed pilot to Silverman, Martin noticed he looked odd and asked what was wrong. Silverman said, "Who the hell is this fat guy running around, and where the hell's Robert Conrad?" :)

  • @garrisonskunk Hahaha, that's a great story about William Conrad.

  • Well I took this from the Pilot Episode.

  • This episode aired on March 26th, 1971. It was the "pilot"

  • That's a heck of a guest cast. And it's neat that J.D. Cannon shows up in the first episode of Cannon.

  • he was doing the series "mccloud' when the pilot aired. he was known for his role as the cantankerous Cheif clifford.
