I guarantee that if you can find copies of the cantata, it will be worth it. Although it may sound a bit odd, my family has numerous copies and we sing through it every time we get together for Christmas - narration and all. :) The piano accompaniment is difficult, but rewarding - and the transitions between songs are a work of musical art.
lovely presentation but why did they not put in the high notes in teh section where the choir comes in? i feel that made it slightly anti-climatic for me but overall a good performance of a great piece
My mother and father as pastors in Lovington, NM in 1965 led this musical. My mom was the violinist and musical director and lead soprano, and my dad was lead male. I remember this song well. I cried then at age 8 and I still cry every time I hear it. One of the most lyrical and beautiful songs I've ever heard.
"Sleep, Holy Child" is part of John W. Peterson's Christmas cantata "Night of Miracles". The cantata is out of print, but I found it through a used music retailer.

Debbie, Thank you so much. I found a similar song called Sleep Holy Child in google but it is not the same. I wish to young people get used to this beautiful christmas song. :-)
I love this song!!! I remember this one since I was a little girl. Sister (I am an Adventist girl) I been looking a track for this song or Piano notes. Can you help please?
Here am I sitting in my office on 8 August during a summer thunderstorm, playing this song because it is GORGEOUS! "Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners".

The girl (second from the right) was singing the high choir part, but the audio engineer obviously didn't have her mic up. :0(
