How to Draw Realistic Tall Grass

Hi Tyler,I am just starting out drawing( at the age of 50), and have looked countlessly for videos. You by far Tyler, have taught me more than anyone cause you explain why you do what you do.... I tried to do a beachy dune sketch and it looked like nothing but lines, but after watching your video, it was so helpful. Thank you for your great videos.

okay so i just thought of something.... would you suggest, if i were do to like a shade and grass, would you suggest draw the grass in first and then draw the shed like you did with the post or the other way around????

Yay! Just in time for my project in school. Drawing a picture onto a big piece of paper. I am doing a Lynx and it's surrounded my tall grass. Now I can make the grass look awesomer!!! ^_^

Thanks for sharing I been doing that for awhile the grass is somewhat, I can't get it to detail just like you did.

@neongrey101 Just takes a bit of practice. I had a very hard time learning this from a step by step demonstration in a book I have. I have many failed attempts at it. Now I finally understand it after trying it a couple of times.

@henrycems Haha bust out that old sketchbook!! This is pretty fun to do. But it takes a while to do. It took me about an hour to draw this much grass for the tutorial.
