Yup, they did, they entered the gulf at the end of Feb 06'. It was their maiden deployment and they were doing an "around the world" tour. They pulled into San Diego in July. So according to the info I pulled up, you guys relieved them in May.
They probably were blind to it if it was small enough, but we wouldn't of shot it down in international waters and they wouldn't of scrambled 7 planes. The realistic response is that they directed the CAP aircraft to monitor it.

Yup, they did, they entered the gulf at the end of Feb 06'. It was their maiden deployment and they were doing an "around the world" tour. They pulled into San Diego in July. So according to the info I pulled up, you guys relieved them in May.

this mission took place when uss R,REAGAN and it's Strike Group was stationned in the Persian Gulf april / may 2006 .
it is 100% true they were blind to this uav for a long time, (may be they were in the middle of a coffee break when this incident occured ,lol)

Carrier battle groups arent all nicely packed together like you see in movies, theyre spread out over hundreds of miles with Destroyers and Cruisers, as well as Combat Air Patrols over 500 miles circling the Aircraft Carrrier.

For christ sake. Americans joined war in Europe in 1944, I don´t care about war in Pacific because it didn´t have any significant impact on neither German or Italian forces. And if you don´t know about the inner situation in German and habsburg empire during first world war than, please, don´t try to be smart. US forces start fighting on French fron during last year of war, but western frontline was approximatelly unchanged since fall of Belgium.

Next thing - Hasburg and German empire were facing catastrophic economical consequences of war (especially KK monarchy) and the population was against the war. No foreign soldier crossed German borders during whole war (same goes for KK), yet the Germany was on the loser side. Guess why and than we can discuss further.

actually US Forces invaded Italy in 1943. 3rd Army, General Patton. In 1942 and 1943 the US deployed in North Africa. 1944 was D-Day and yes then the Americans took free reign going through Germany. not to disregaurd resistance fighters or British forces, or Russian ones, all were integral. But dont not say the Americans were not involved in Europe until 1944, you are wrong there.

I couldn't care less about Germanys reasons for war, im only defending the point that the Hollywood version of ww2 is complete bull, the British and Russians defeated Germanies two largest offensives of the war with no USA involvement and the Royal Navy fought and defeated the Navies of Four of the Worlds superpowers (Germany, Italy, Japan and France) regardless of how big there role was in defeating the Japanese Navy we still managed to spare enough ships to fight three major powers.
