Whether or not you realise it, every society elevates certain people to a high status akin to royalty, even if they are not technically royal. And for the U.S they've done that with celebrities and politicians. You tell me to respect the U.S for her gifts, and yet you choose to only focus on the negative things the royal family have done, despite all their good work with MANY charities and good causes.

This is a wonderful video of an interesting woman. Despite her privileged life, she seems to have suffered the constraints of royal life; not being free to marry her true love, and to have lived in the shadow of her sister, the Queen. Princess Margaret was certainly a beautiful woman. I'm not sure today's monarchy is very popular, or that the royals are so revered, esp. with the disgrace and shame Charles and Camilla have caused. It is an archaic institution at best.

I think they also add a bit of sparkle and interest to the world. Without the Royal family you'll just do what the U.S does and turn your politicians and celebrities into royalty! I'd personally rather have the real thing!!

If we get rid of the monarchy then we have to give them crown estates back..........

Third, the monarchy cost every Briton 69pennies, The Italian presidency costs each person almost double at £1.28. We get the most famous woman in the world. All together now - who is Italys President?............

Just for an example - the Spanish King costs each Spanish, about 50 cents (talking in euros); the Portuguese President costs each Portuguese, 1,90€... it's an absurd cost because of both countries population/ size. And they come and go over and over again, no-one knows them abroad (Presidents) and sometimes not even inside the borders.

What to say. Princess Margaret was and is probably the Last Royal Princess in the real. Judged by Queen Elizabeth II she recognized people by how well or low the people bowed. Margret was the the princess who had it all and had nothing, and is sad in her departure.
