  • Excellent to see the baby goose! This time the nightingale was not camouflaged... Bravo!

  • Lovely video.. great to see the little geese swimming about.. How lucky to see the nightingale again.. Such sweet melody.. Its so nice to end the day by watching such soothing videos by you.. Thanks Phil for your lovely nature videos - Menu

  • I loved how the little one was tearing through the water behind the Adult goose who was just cruising along as serene as you could be. The Pochard was amazingly lovely as was the face of the Cormorant, such amazing details in colors! But the Nightingale has me in it's spell. Such a wee fellow, so petite, so fragile looking, yet such a huge song! For some odd reason, I always pictured them in my mind as being akin to a Myna in appearance....go figure.

  • wonderful video and these babies are super :))

  • Thank you Laz my friend ;)

  • Another Beauty'Phil! love it! 5 stars!

    lol JIMARLILY!

  • Thank you Jim and Mary and Lily :)

  • Aaaaaaaaaaaaaw I luuuuuuuuuuuve babies ! Hehehe Só cute, so precious !

Wish my babies followed me where ever I went.... I had to scream all the time...LMAO

    Great video Phil ! -x-

    Annet

  • LOL Annet

  • Aww....the tiny baby goose! So sweet. I think that we might have had a Grebe visit our campground a couple of years ago. It was fishing out near the little island in the manmade lake. Thankyou for the encore from the precious Nightingale. hugs, Chris

  • Thank you Chris. I love the Grebes. They look so funny on land, with their legs right at the back of their bodies, they are clumsy, but in the water, they are at their best.

  • News Flash - 30 April 09

It was a gala celebration of life and beauty at Paxton Pits today. The stars and their families turned out in force for the occasion.

All seemed to delight in finding a moment to pose for world-famous photographer Zoltrix67, as strains of music from the rising young musician, Rob "Riverman1971" Elliott, played in the background.

Highlight of the day was a solo by the madly-talented and relatively unknown soul-singer, Nightingale.

This reporter gives it 5*s! ;-)

  • Nom you Rock lol I love reading your comments ;)

  • Awesome! I used to watch your daily reports during my break at work, now they have banned YouTube from the work pcs I have to wait!:)

  • Thanks Anthony. I been busy at work and the car needs work doing on it, so not had a lot of time to myself the past week.

  • My best wishes on regaining your golden hours... and I eagerly await your next video, as we all do! Take care and hope everything works out! S.

  • I also wondered about the lack of goslings. I loved the pochards, the colours are amazing and the females marking are good too.

Oh that nightingale - I wish we got them up here.

    :)

  • I noticed that some of the Geese remained local to a small part of the lake and on land, so I believe there to be more eggs and goslings on the way ;)

  • Well, I am sure you and your camera will find them when the time comes.... thanks for sharing your wonderful work! S.

  • Wonderful video Phil, I enjoyed watching the little baby keeping up behind him Mom, but what worries me that there should be like half a dozen of ducklings instead of just one?

  • Najidal - yes! Thanks. I wondered that, too.

Phil? Do you think there are more on the way? Still in the eggs? Or...?

  • Me, too! Especially since I had a nest mishap a few weeks ago.

  • I was sorry to hear about that too. On the reserve, they have predetors to deal with as well as dogs let off the lead etc.. To some extent, they are protected, but as you know, Rules are quite often broken.

  • Some of the eggs may have been damaged due to the floodings we had earlier. I am sure that there will be more. Also, the Heron and Cormorants are still on their nests which is a good sign too ;)

  • There were Three little ones, and 7 Adult sized Geese, I think the three belong to the same parent birds, but they do swim as a sort of little community.

  • lovely work mate

  • Thanks as always James.

  • I was sure I had commented on the first Nightingale song Phil. I recall watching it before my eye problem. Nice to see the little ones starting to arrive. The male pochard duck has amazing color! And look how the Nightingale's throat puffs up when he sings.

Well, I can't think of a better way to use my 10 minute limit here than by watching your vid. Back to resting the eye. Well done as always Phil.

    Hugs~Nancy

  • Thank you Nancy. Rest your eyes my friend, there will be so much to see soon. Hugs across the pond.

  • Thanks, Phil! The Pochard is stunning-- never seen one of those... also a lovely Grebe, and goose family! I just love that Nightingale, especially where he seems to be looking right at you! Really great job on the vid...!!

  • Thank you. There were a lot of Pochards during the winter months, now there seems to be only a few pairs left behind, they too will move on for a while, but they do return and are a great duck to watch,

  • Gotta LOVE the baby duck!

Wow! I never saw a Crested Grebe before.

    Love the Nightengale song!

Oh boy! Thanks for the shout out Phil.

    Loves,

    Mooz
