I loved her character Louise on the Hazel episode#18 of the 1st season and the comment she makes about a Mrs Forbes-Craigie and a Brookeline Burke !!!
She was Helene Hanff's best friend. Wouldn't it have been great if Helene had still been around to be in this interview? Wow. They knew the theatre when it was the theatre - when one of the biggest events in NYC was any new Broadway show.
Was she the woman wrapped in the bandages? Because the the episode "Eye of the Beholder" they used two different woman. ONe wrapped in bandages and the one at the end after the bandages were removed.
@elmolewis1 She was the one in the bandages. The one whose voice we hear throughout. The lady at the end was played by model/actress Donna Douglas, better known as Ellie May Clampett from "The Beverly Hillbillies."
Just think, this lucky lady was the notable Helene Hanff's best friend! What a couple of personalities~~~it would have been such a treat to have been a fly on the wall when those two vibrant women conversed. Love you, Maxine! Rest in peace, Helene.
"Eye Of The Beholder". One of the top 10 Rod Serling "Twilight Zone" episodes. Mr. Serling died one night before I was to see him lecture. Ms. Stuart certainly held on to the "disaster" of her operation. Still a beauty!
hey nice video! my names Riley, kinda feelin bored if any1 wants to join me on cam or wana chat i will be signed on at __ FriendlyFlirts(.COM) __ my user ID there is Riley_bqzynnwcjtg chat soon xx its FR33 to j0in! mwah
Donna, at the end mimicked Maxine's voice so well they didn't have to dub Maxine's voice....
