  • This song on the Aus program Rage was my introduction to Sebadoh. Got Bakesale soon as I could & have been a huge fan since. Was very grateful to see them Friday night (16th September 11) at Rosemount Hotel West Aus. Was reminded of the heart & sincerity missing in so much of music right now. Also noticed what underrated singers Jason & Lou are.

  • just saw sebadoh at la route da rock festival in france and they hurt my butt from all the kicking they gave it..those french know how to have fun, peeps were crowd surfing to the guy tuning the guitar thats how f'ed up they are..in a good way..

  • I've been driving around town...

  • Obviously no on has heard old Snow Patrol, because they sound like Dinosaur Jr./Lou/J/Pavement whatever...but they do...

  • @SilentEcho33

I wouldn't know because I've only heard two or so snow patrol songs and let them out of my music library but sometimes it's better not to comment those things cuz people round this music deny popular music's existence. No negativity to this comment just something I've noticed on every video I watch and see comments too. Like when people compare Radiohead and Animal Collective. <-- may be fun to compare and contrast but everyone gets pissy. Don't bother discussing with youtube.

  • @PaulKneller Yeah. Youtube is the flamewar equivalent to the Middle East. Entering the conflict is basically asking for trouble.

  • dreamy song

  • i like the teddy on the drums in 0:43

  • thank god Dinosaur Jr. where sooooo....STUPID!!!!

  • @ichdenkeauch youre so stupid :)

  • did i just see j mascis on the beginning of the vid??

  • as of 07 June 2011 - 11 people are dumb!

  • Melodicy

  • I actually live about 30 minutes away from Snow Patrol and although I should probably be supporting my local music I would be the first to say that first time I heard them I told my friend that I simply considered them as trying to be another Sebadoh except that Bakesale had already been released 15yrs earlier and was 15 times better!!!

  • It's kinda funny how I ended up on one of my best friends songs. I guess it's a small world.

  • Sebadoh > Nirvana

  • @TheGreySea2 No break through rock act? What about The Strokes? While I'm not their biggest fan i would have to say they changed rock and roll music with This Is It. Definitely qualify as the 00s defining band i would say. How many carbon copies of the strokes were there for the next few years after that album? Loads.

  • @TheGreySea2 I'd probably call The Strokes the naughties' defining band. Think of how many bands tried to copy their sound and style?

  • @TheGreySea2 I'd probably call The Strokes the naughties' defining band. Think of how many bands tried to copy their sound and style?

  • lo0l to the noobs comparing CLASSIC bands to new crap lol... water down emulated SHITE.. these classic real indie rock bands will never be forgotten!! The naughties sucked so bad no defining band.. 80s sonic youth.. 90s nirvana.. 00s, no big mainstream break through rock act... so it started dying...

People jumping around to lame dubstep makes me really sad.

  • @TheGreySea2 totally agree!

  • Transworld Uno!

  • @jeanlament12 yea man I remember the part when Chris Mims busted his eyebrow on that vicious rail.

  • @Thugocratic sure.

  • Transworld Anthology. Good skate video.

  • @MENSOERR that was the shit back in the day!!! lol

  • @MENSOERR That's where I heard the song first. Totally inspiring!

  • @MENSOERR Hahaha, I loved that video, I skate too. Funny how musc can bring people with the same interests togethore, huh?

  • @MENSOERR It is a good video, but before that video ever came out this song was in Tom Penny and Geoff rowley's part in Transworld's Uno back in 1996, that's where I first heard it. You should look for it.

  • @Thugocratic love this song!! after hearing it on uno back in the day, neva actually knew who sang it. so 3months ago went up the loft dug out the old VHS player and uno to look at the credits :D

  • Sebadoh fans seem like angry people from the comments on this video. Which is weird because the song is pretty mellow.

  • @joshuak47 fuck off dork

  • lol snow patrol, nobody gives a shit about those clowns

  • Why are you guys talking about Snow Patrol?

  • @ParadiseLuxe

There's a snow patrol song that was heavily influenced by this song

  • @snlbitchluva Yeah.. influenced.. right.

  • Bakesale was the favourite album of snow patrol's members when they were at university.....

  • @djmascarpone and lifeguards listen to eminem albums, go figure

  • Man this song takes me back. I love this album.

  • sebadoh vr tokio hotel who winning??

  • sebadoh is not to be compared by any other band.

words can not describe you great they are, or how they sound.

    you should try it yourself.

  • magic! Indie pop (90's) at his best

  • i think it was Transworld skateboarding that used this song in a video, it worked well. good song

  • Man, all this anger about Snow Patrol and Sebadoh. Have you not seen Lou and Gary hanging out at Lou's house, interviewing each other?

  • more than amazing..

  • teenagerockets.podomaticcom please check out this band its a new indei band

  • yeah it's Dinosaur Jr. Lou was one of the founding members…i love forget the swan from the first lp

  • don't know what they're talking about, but brilliant song anyway !

  • It takes a lot of nerve to drop a name like Snow Patrol in the same line as Sebadoh.

  • @shogs Tottally Agree, These guys have more dimeth then snow patrol

  • 0:25

  • @snlbitchluva photo of Dinosaur Jr Etc, Lou Barlow, apparently wanted to back for the band, nostalgia etc...

  • @listen2one classy

  • thank you

  • Man I love Lou barlow

  • What a beautiful song

  • Such a simple song structure, and still brilliant. Actually thats probably why. Less is more.

  • i love lou barlow

  • Ah, the days of my youth in western Massachusetts. Ciera with anarchy symbol, farmland, ringer t-shirts, beat-up old victorian house attics and amps. Brings me right back.

  • this is off of Bakesale. Great album. yes, i said album.

  • Sacred attention best sebadoh song ever.

  • That is a brilliant album! Not heard it for years x

  • Good jangly indie rock the way it should be.

    Thx for posting this

  • calm down hipsters and alts just listen to the great music

  • @MusicJew158 Don't encourage hipsters to listen to good music. They need to go back to their sooperdooper underground acoustic folk music. This music is for real people.

  • @crassisdead hipsters are over rated, we all know beautiful music when its in front of us. rock on!!

  • Pretty sure this song is actually about doing heroin for the first time .......metaphorically speaking.

  • The video was shot in Westfield Ma.

  • Rock music sucks now.

  • @windrix1 hoperfully good music will comback in the future

  • Bakesale is easily my favorite album of all time.

  • You know, I think Snow Patrol should be paying Lou 50% royalties.

    Bunch of thieving copy cats...

  • this is a good song. end of story. we don't need to discuss the history of rock music here.

  • This takes me back

  • do not pollute this; a really great song with a comparison to Snow patrol. fuck off

  • Awesome

  • Great song.

  • this is sick!!!!!!:)

  • Love the song ... and this clip is RAD

  • >> i found this looking japanese band called skull..... not what i searched for XD but good anyhow! uh. youtube, is mess me up sometime. ha ha annyong have fun with your sebadoh.

  • you have a problem~

  • Loubarlow You STILL Rule!

  • those assclowns Snow Patrol ripped off Lou's sound.

    A shame.

  • damn, now that i pay attention, thats some BS...it sucks cuz they are WAAAY more famous than sebadoh when they shouldnt be

  • alotta bands did.......

  • So damn good and now Lou is back with another master piece! goodnight unknown! Go for it Lou!

  • Sebadoh sounds has been around a lot longer then snow patrol ... maybe Snow Patrol sounds like SeBADoh would be more like it... thanks

  • @WilcoTributeOne Snow Patrol sounds like a cats arsehole.

  • @precinctful thank you - truest statement of the year award goes to you!

  • @precinctful One of the smartest comments i've seen on youtube this year, actually one could say 'very true' at that. Very, very true

  • these guys play instruments.

    and record themselves playing them.

    for records and such.

  • I just realized how much Lou Barlow looks like Kevin Shields

  • Both genius musicians.

  • que buen tema low barlow es un groso

  • great song, great album, great band....nothing more to it

  • the nineties were both cool, and ..... this.

  • This

  • this was my first hearing of seb' after a recommendation, i think they are going to be my favourites for a while yet, hopefully become the soundtrack to a possible indian summer in the uk for me and only me. I aint even gonna share this band on face book, cause its mine. AAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLL........................MIne.

  • you're almost 20 years too late lol.

  • doh!

  • well another shit summer in U.K.

    terrifick band though

  • that's probably why you're so lonely then innit?

  • I'm not so childish as to say Sebadoh are better than Dinosaur Jr, but I definitely prefer them.

  • i love both, but i really have to agree. plus i find more of a variety in their music, and i like that.

  • Rampampam pampam

  • a minha banda de cabeceira apesar de nao fazer sucesso aqui. la fora eles tem muito respeito .viva sebadoh!!! a trilha sonora da minha adolescencia.

  • Is the dude in the start of the video smoking a doobie? LOL

  • that's totally a cigarette....

  • Transworld - Anthology anyone?

  • Greatest Skate Video ever.

  • hell yeah

  • makes me cry... and feeling extraordinary good at the same time :)

    theyre so good, soooo good.

i wanna meet a girl who will be singing sebadoh songs to me when i´m sad!

  • I wanna meet a boy who actually wants Sebadoh sung to them.

  • Tasty

  • yeah, that would be a little weird if a girl started singing Sebadoh to me, but I would give her mad props to see a Sebadoh playlist on her MP3 player.

  • well i'm one of them

  • Excellent!

  • congratulations. today this video was selected by the NYC Punk Rock Evolution Foundation.

  • Woah

If you mark this as spam do you go to Hell?

  • 0:26, that dinosaur?

  • Why yes, yes it is.

  • indeed. it pleased me.

  • Lou Barlow, bassplayer of Dino Jr., was a member of Sebadoh... In case you didn't know.

  • yeah, i know

  • From these earlier vids, it's painfully apparent to me that 1.) Prior to Sebadoh, Dinosaur Jr. meant the world to Lou, 2.) He was devastated when he was kicked out, and 3.) Lou needed to mature.

At least they're all together now, and from the interviews I read, they all seem to be on good terms... Let's hope they stay together for more albums.

  • Leaving Dino Jr. was the best thing that could happen for Barlow and for music fans with discriminating taste. Sebadoh turned out to be so much better than Dino Jr. ever was.

  • To each his own, I guess. I like Dinosaur Jr. and Sebadoh equally.

  • pfft please. i love sebadoh but dinosaur jr trumps them easily

  • dinosaur and sebadoh are too different to compare them

  • I wouldn't say too different

I still consider them in the same field of music.....

  • @Fuzzboy104 soughta but i reckon they have a soughta simmalar sound but sebadoh is a little more folky and yeah i cant spell

  • They're a different sound. It's okay to have a preference, but there is no point in being elitist toward these musician's separate artistic projects.

As they said it, "Just gimme indie rock".

  • where is this sort of music today? A shame it passed so quickly.

  • "Let's go chasing dragons through the snow" LOL

  • Great man.

  • sigarettes are stupid

  • So is incorrect spelling.

  • Haha you pwned him.

  • pwned? what the fucks the matter with people! ¬.¬
