@salford08 it takes some getting used to, i could reload pretty quick while i had 10 round magazines with mine. i need to get used to my new double stack mags. i also cut my mag well pretty tight but i think i could get my speed up quite easily. the nice thing about the ak is you can knock the mag release with the new magazine and pop it right in

I had a Chinese Type 56-2 (sidefolder) years ago before I sold it. I found the stock way too short. The Rifle was crudely machined, lots of sharp edges especially at the hinge. It was a FUN Rifle to shoot especially back when ammo was 10 a round. Did you find out where the cleaning kit is ? I did not know where it was for years before I found out in a Magazine article.

@HELLZZARMY I got the same Poly in the vid with red bakelite furniture. Came in excellent condition with only a few slightly noticeable dings on it with an attached slant brake on the muzzle. Made by factory 386, a $1500 investment goes along way since it is by far the finest AK I have ever owned, sure beats my old beat up Maadi Mak-90. These things are getting more rare so the value keeps increasing. Not sure if I want to shoot it any more.

@fatsuburbanwhiteboy The Chinese rifle does not have plastic furniture,it is bakelite.the chinese rifle is better in my opinion.It has a slightly thicker receiver and its blued finish is better for corrosion resistance.I also think it looks better.Plus the chinese aks rank very high in quality after russians, bulgys, polish....And Chinese polytech is higher quality than Chinese norinco.If your uncle does have Viet bring backs,I wouldn't say any thing as they are unregistered NFA machine guns

My dad had handguns, rifles, and and took my brothers and I hunting...

By the time I joined the military it was in my blood. Handling NATO small arms and explosives was a piec of cake.

My shooting partner has a vector, and a norinco. I have 2 norinco. You should see the nasty looks we get @ the 100yd range from the guys with hunting rifles! The smirkish grins fade when we outshoot them with IRON sights. We'll usually than make load comments to each other about how well we could do "if I had a scope like that one..." One bullet ,from any gun, to any part of your body can be fatal. Do you even know what cartridge it shoots? It shoots a 7.62x39 mm cartridge. Thats one of the reasons that it is so deadly. Another reason is that the bullet tumbles and fragments inside tissue, unless it exits the body b4 this can happen.

And you know that being shot by this thing can be fatal because you used this gun? I dought that you have ever touched an AK.

thats true, i live in San Deigo county and a police officer was shot with One .22 pistol round form 80 yards away and it went under his armpit from the side and killed him instanlty, i guess it just depends on where the bullet hits you.

according to the military channel the G36 is a good gun but the G36c has a barrel that is just to short to be effective, the muzzle velocity is too low and the G36c lacks stopping power, but i guess it you hit a guy with 4 rounds to the chest from that gun im sure he'll be dead. - this info is from the Military Channel

thats because they origionally changed the way they made the reciever for the gun then they just pretty much made it almost exactly like the MAIN and FIRST russian ak 47, so they basically copied it just like everyone else, even the russians copied the external design of the Sturmgewehr 44

Don't know about the 40 round mags.
