We moved into an appartment(flat) in Coral Springs Florida years ago. It had set empty for a year, and the wax seals dried out on the toilet. We discovered the problem with the people in the lower appartment called us down to find dozens of gallons of (ahem) water had come crashing down through their ceiling all at once.

Glad I didn't live there. It was spectacular. The hole had to be 3 feet across.

Thanks fully it was the waste water from the bath was the problem and not the toilet!

nice ceiling - we had to get a new one in our flat when an upstairs neighbour fell asleep while running a bath!
