  • at the very end, it needed a high note played :( i was purely expecting him to play just one last high note...BUT FUCKING AMAZING SONG!!! :DDDDD

  • God that's good!

  • The March of the Swordmaster?

  • Awesome!Sounds like a bit of Rainbow.Which is not a bad thing at all!! :)

  • 0 people disliked this...Lets keep that up! 8D

  • reminds me of Zorro

  • Amazing song, very entrancing

  • Gypsy Rose (Elizabeth Cary) has demonstrated that she deservers to be part of the BN band. She makes that violin sing! A perfect balance to Richies guitar!!

  • Still not sure exactly why, but this keeps reminding me of a song by Mago de Oz called Fiesta Pagana... anyway, this has to be the best Blackmore's Night song ever!

  • Can anyone tell how this song is counted? I've been trying to figure it out, but it keeps throwing me off,

  • and yes ritchie blackmores solo is just another example of his mastery , the guy had me hooked 40 yrs ago, and i think ( in my opinion ) that he is the best , there are faster , and more uhh technical...but time has proven to me, that riff for riff ,...he"s one of the best pure players of all time.. nobody plays like blackmore, if they do ,there trying to sound like blackmore ....LIKE ME !!...im a badass strat man , ( uli-yngvie-blackmore ) , but blackmore is the man ...no doubt !!.....

  • for all that wonder why ritchie does this instead of deep purple or rainbow..its simple....he loves what he's doing..and .his wife is the singer (locked)., if you had dio ,turner, gillan, coverdale singing this song it would be purple/rainbow..right ?.the music is there, blackmores solo is full circle to his early riffs.in purple /rainbow..B / N will throw a clunker or 2 every album, but over all this is good shit, candice..is getting better.and better ,and she"s still in the band !! get it ?....

  • @sl1991dkb I appreciate all things Blackmore and while I love Purple & Rainbow (especially Rainbow), I'm not going to write the guy off as you seem to have done. It's renaissance music, there's not a lot you can do with it without betraying it's true purpose. Hard Rock offered Blackmore the diversity to play around and what made him the best was that he would play things that NO ONE else would even dare to attempt. B'sN has got more rockier with each album. This song is a testament to that.

  • @DancesWithJoy I agree Gates Of Babylon is a brilliant solo and it is in the middle. But look at others like Since You've Been Gone, I Surrender, Knocking At Your Back Door, Wasted Sunsets, Hunting Humans, Way To Mandalay, I'll Be There (Just Call My Name), The BN version of Street of Dreams and may many more. Solo's that may come in the middle but also has great soloing at the end to bring the song to a wonderful dynamic conclusion. Though with GOB, you couldn't have chosen a better example.

  • I think I'll never understand why Ritchie started this kind of music instead of making great music with Deep Purple/Rainbow!! This stuff is just extreme boring compared to his old stuff! He was much more creative with his old projects!

  • Cool solo!!!

  • The best Blackmore's Night song yet. Blackmore's best solo's always seem to come at the end of the song and this is no exception. The little run that starts behind the vocal at 3:03 is just another example of that guy's brilliance and the last mad fret fest solo at the end is just unbelievable. After so many years with Blackmore's Night, you feel that a real blistering ROCK solo like that has just been brewing inside him for 15 years and this one has just exploded out of his fingers. MAGIC!

  • @holydiver73 I think that the solo in "Gates Of Babylon" is excellent and it is in the middle! :-)

  • Hi I have the bonus track on my page called Gottlische Devise if you or anyone else would like to hear it, feel free to listen and leave a comment if you like

  • *O* ♥

  • thank you thank you thank you for putting this CD up!!! It's awesome :D

  • One of the best on the album.

  • Masterpiece! One of the best tunes by BN! Ritchie's shows THAT tone and THAT vibrato and his strat licks exsume a level of personality and grit very few guitar players posses. He can wipe the floor with most by playing just 2 notes. Genious!
