@TheZombiesarepeople2 That too but strategy in D&D is related to skills and stuff too, for example Wizards have a spell called spider web, once cast it trap all enemies in range BUT it can also trap your teammates so you need to be carefull. Rogues are the only ones that can disable traps, find hidden doors and open locks. Each class has special abilities and there's huge variety in skills and stuff, you can have 10 barbarians in a party and all of them beeing different. Read about D&D rules.
0:13 Are those Rust monsters? I must ask how exactly does the whole corroding metal and eating it work with those in this game? I would be pretty pissed if I was decked out in really good gear and all of the sudden a damn rust monster ate all of it.
I have played WoW for a very long time a little lotro but before that I played D&D and adv.D&D and the miniatures version of the game... I think D&D online has more the roleplay factor, while WoW is more slashing and getting everything fast. And when I was looking at the character sheet old memories came up.. :). I liked them all, they all had something special and thats whats all about, you can like it but its not that one is better then the other.

Played it for month, it looks like they released the game half-finished... Line Age? small and boring... @FallenAndRised well give it about a year and Guild Wars 2 should bring something to the table. You can actually jump in number 2, its an open world for the most part (aside some instances of course) like wow and the combat is looking promising being able to combine abilities and such. So keep an eye on that as its developed....as far as something right this instant, dont really know of one.
@TheIDCBear I wouldn't get to excited about GW2, it has a lot of potential to disappoint. Don't take this as me hating on GW though, as I'm actually incredibly excited about the sequel, just attempting to reduce it to avoid MMORPG disappointment which I've felt rather too often in the last few years.

to all that thing why more ppl play WoW, no.1 At max level in wow u have tons to do while u can level quite fast in ddo its the other way around u have tons of leveling and u finish at 20 quite fast basically. no.2 Interface in wow is more clearer there are more addons for it and its easier to learn how to play wow. no.3 In wow there is no such thing like cube throws on reflex etc, making it easier to understand what is going on :) thats from my point of view ^^

Great job! 5/5. @Inflamesaddict3d Clerics can buff and heal but little damage, warior/fighters can do damage but not buff. Favored souls and rangers can do damage and have some buffs and heals, so go with a favored soul (p2p) or ranger (free).
I just started playing this, and seriously.. i have NOOO idea what character to play, i'd like something that deals melee/ranged weapon damage, but still be able to buff people
@Inflamesaddict3d Well... actually, that fits every classes with some spellcasting abilities. Wizards/sorcs have buffs and ranged-touch attacks that deal pretty massive damage. Rangers got bows and spells, Pallys can have bows/swords and spells. A nicely made cleric can destroy any paladin, though... Favored Souls are nice, but I prefer clerics. The only classes that don't fit your requirements are fighter, barbarian and rogue... (Bard fits nothing xD, even on tabletop xD)
I never really understood the Raid Boss mentality; I mean, they just have a ton of HP and then you do basic hacking at it until it dies being healed constantly so you don't go first, while it repeats its sequence. Isn't that boring?
I always found making Raid Bosses autohit, giving them infi HP and making them immune to every non-damage effect ever sells them short. Imagine a fight where the Dragon uses its spells, flight, attacks, etc in conjuction to make for a varying, challenging fight.
@platolol Much of the game free, and technically all of it is free, it will just take you a lot longer to get some things that the paid people get. So if you have the time and patients, you can get everything free.
I just got htis game yesterday! It's amazing! It's my first real MMO other than runescape wich sucks now. It's a nice change from runescape. I'm a dwarf worrior! This game is so much fun!

well since youre at complimenting this game. i think i should to. i love that this is the first mmo i play where i actually get to fully control my character :) i couldnt find other mmo's like it.
Heck even with wow you dont get to really customize your character other than class race and appearence you dont get to pick yours skills and stuff just change equipment.
The "Free" part only lasts till about level 8 and you have to actually pay for ur next area to quest in.. Free play is basicly a long demo that sucks you into the game, so you'll wanna pay for more.
I've actually gotten up to level 17 without paying a dime. You just have to do the quests to get the leveling sigil's, or use the DDO Points given to you through favors.
free version rocks! u still have fun and dont have to pay 4 it :D, btw if i get runescape related comments i really dont care, i like a ton of rpgs 5/5, thanks for showing
My advice to any who play MMO's- atleast TRY DDO for the first month. alot of people are very helpful to newbies, and with the new mod out (8) you see a dragon al lvl1 =)
I played wow for a few weeks, hated it. Its the mmo for the unskilled, and children under 12 and under. I played ddo for over 2 years before moving on to AOC. Been at AOC for about 10 months and while the graphics are uber the game itself is lacking. DDO is a great game with lots of options

I always found making Raid Bosses autohit, giving them infi HP and making them immune to every non-damage effect ever sells them short. Imagine a fight where the Dragon uses its spells, flight, attacks, etc in conjuction to make for a varying, challenging fight.

I've played WoW since pre-BC and always been a fan of it, but I gotta admit, I love this game and find myself playing it more and more.
WoW is about "cookie cutter" builds for classes and you either have them or your toon sucks.
DDO has alot of freedom to build up a class how you want it and it'll still be very effective at doing it's role in a dungeon.
I was more excited about playing through the new adventage packs I bought than raiding IC with my guild in WoW.

@platolol Much of the game free, and technically all of it is free, it will just take you a lot longer to get some things that the paid people get. So if you have the time and patients, you can get everything free.

I just got htis game yesterday! It's amazing! It's my first real MMO other than runescape wich sucks now. It's a nice change from runescape. I'm a dwarf worrior! This game is so much fun!

@mrjacob00 well, I'm sorry to hear that but WoW Isn't bigger because of the Advertising only, Blizzard is older, and Besides WoW Has a great taste if you started since the classic, I remember Ragnaros, you needed 40 people to bring that bitch out. It's all skill and a great raiding guild. And I prefair WoW than any other game because of the Story. Warcraft since the beginning has a tremendous story line. So whats the point of saying that WoW Sucks? If you don't like it Good; no one cares...

@marcusgrim Yeah the graphics in wow are good, in case of weapon beauty or your shiny cool armor; however, its environment textures remind me of a textures in the game "Worms:Mayhem" lol....

The "Free" part only lasts till about level 8 and you have to actually pay for ur next area to quest in.. Free play is basicly a long demo that sucks you into the game, so you'll wanna pay for more.

I've actually gotten up to level 17 without paying a dime. You just have to do the quests to get the leveling sigil's, or use the DDO Points given to you through favors.

My advice to any who play MMO's- atleast TRY DDO for the first month. alot of people are very helpful to newbies, and with the new mod out (8) you see a dragon al lvl1 =)

I played wow for a few weeks, hated it. Its the mmo for the unskilled, and children under 12 and under. I played ddo for over 2 years before moving on to AOC. Been at AOC for about 10 months and while the graphics are uber the game itself is lacking. DDO is a great game with lots of options
