@saintearth If you're trying to say they were racist.. #1: they were opening for the Stones. #2: This was in England. #3: Listen to "The Ballad of Curtis Loew"...
@entnic you know the english always did appreciate american country, blues, and folk more than we do. look up some of seasick steve's music on youtube. he became an english icon when he took his talent overseas.

C'mon man... stop being the bad guy in this story. I'm a black guy and really like Skynrd and the Allman Bros. The music never lies. I thought that Skynrd were racist, so never got into them, but that's not the truth. They were just proud of their southern heritage, which is cool with me. Ain't nothing wrong being proud of where you came from. Music transcends race and boundries and that's the greatest thing. It doesn't hurt the they rock!
@saintearth Pause at 0:42 there's 2 of 'em. go get ya shotgun and the rope!
Left edge o' the screen 1 on the top corner (I know a negro without afrohair in the 70'ies, I was shocked too :p). And that pitch black huge afro on the lower left part of 0:42 is either a black or a white freak of nature. (My mother did try to raise me not to point at blacks but she failed. And santearth did ask). :p
@TheCozybear65 How do you figure immortal musical figures ever "depart." I'm pretty sure you haven't a clue Skynyrds fanbase and impact. LOL, Skynyrd is still rollin strong in our hearts and souls. Nothin early about it buba.
@phantomshtter theyre all dead bud.. just saying it didnt last long..( a curse from the music gods.) no other rock band from the seventiers has lost so many of their musicians like this band.Do you know any?
@phantomshtter I'm talking about mortal musicians..not immortal musicians..they, the mortals(the band) lived short lives. Ofcoarse their legacy will last for years to come. But , I have never seen a band depart in body from this planet as fast as these Southern rockers. It's very odd.
she likes to drink ol grand and her shoes do shuffle around.. skynyrd took it up a notch and I dont think we really grasp how amazing these lyrics are
I'm 51,,,,,these guys are truly great even my son loves them...real people who played real music for real people....thanks for posting...can I get this on dvd?
My Dad use to play Skynyrd's Gold & Platinum tape (that he recorded from an LP) on our bi-monthly 1.5 hour weekend trip to visit with him (folks were getting divorced)... seems like this and other great music he played for us (brother and I) helped keep our minds of the not-so-good events of daily life. This music puts a smile on my face and a few tears in my eyes. No matter how shitty your life gets, you can always turn to music, either listening or playing to help you keep rollin along. :``)
i'M 52 AND OUR bAND IS GONNA PERFORM THIS AND 10 OTHER SKYNYRD SONGS AT A 15 CLASS REUNION. I WANTED TO DO ALL SKYNYRD BUT WE HAD TO MIX IT UP FOR THE WEENIES.

Same, I'm 14, and Skynyrd (along with Metallica and Slayer) is my favourite band. The others are great, but when I want to cheer myself up, there's nothing like Call Me The Breeze, or any Skynyrd song, really.

I have a new Charger R/T and rock Skynyrd as often as I can. It may not be a Goat or a Camaro, but she's still muscle. Can't afford the bar fights no more though lol...
Does any one remember on the One More From the Road version, if you listen to the audience just before the song starts, someone yells, " smoke a joint!" really loud!?!
We lost the greatest band ever 33 years ago today. RIP Ronnie Van Zant, Steve Gaines. Cassie Gaines, Allen Collins, Leon Wilkeson, Billy Powell and JoJo Billingsley.
@TravellinMan94 You did?! Where u at? The classic rock station we have in san Diego only plays free bird, sweet home alabama and call me the breeze. I agree with you EVERYDAY!!
Hell I'm 49 and was weened on this music. Its been part of my life all and every year since they came out. This is pure kick ass southern rock. I love these guys. So many memories and more to come. They are still fillin my ears and thats all I have to say!
Was it true that the Stones refused to take the stage for 3 or 4 hours after Skynyrd? That's what I read that the Stones were embarassed at their own show by some good ol boys from the South!
@missionaryridge u got dat shit right dude, do ya blame um? lol they were prob sceeered they might get their asses kicked literally, Roniie was a reputed scrapper, lol.
I love this song. I remember partying to it when I was young. and now I'm 43 and still love to go out, drink, snort and just plain old fuck around. I guess some of us never grow up.
@davehutchinson67 - What do you mean you remember partying to this song when you were young? Are you saying you are old at 43? I am 42 myself and us Skynyrd fans will never get old mate! That's only for the Lady Gagas and rappers of this world. LOL Long live Skynyrd and all the 40 and 50 year old kids that still love their music.
@JGBugs . . . lol, I love your comment about "all the 40 and 50 year old kids that still love their music". .... You got that right !! ... 52 year old kid here .... still enjoying that awesome sound !!
@dwzmom I'm sorry to hear about your loss .... 54 is way to young to die, but I hope every time you hear Skynard you'll remember your your dad ... Best wishes always ! .... Rock on !!
@JGBugs by the way, did you ever try black tea with vodka and lots of sugar... that's what I'am drinkin' now... cheers to everybody here on this beautiful blue planet...
@JGBugs They were gone when I was born in 78 but my mom was a BIG Skynyrd Fan and she raised me right I grew up to this music I love it I have all there albums and cds I even have the album where they are standing in front of the flames I got it off ebay for my birthday one year now all I need is a record player

Hell I'm 49 and was weened on this music. Its been part of my life all and every year since they came out. This is pure kick ass southern rock. I love these guys. So many memories and more to come. They are still fillin my ears and thats all I have to say!
RUCKUSP1 1 year ago 4
Was it true that the Stones refused to take the stage for 3 or 4 hours after Skynyrd? That's what I read that the Stones were embarassed at their own show by some good ol boys from the South!

I love this song. I remember partying to it when I was young. and now I'm 43 and still love to go out, drink, snort and just plain old fuck around. I guess some of us never grow up.
davehutchinson67 1 year ago
@davehutchinson67 - What do you mean you remember partying to this song when you were young? Are you saying you are old at 43? I am 42 myself and us Skynyrd fans will never get old mate! That's only for the Lady Gagas and rappers of this world. LOL Long live Skynyrd and all the 40 and 50 year old kids that still love their music.
