@onehorseman4 depends which kind of music you like if you like heavy metal or grunge go with tama. If you like fast, funk alternative or rock music (The kind of music RHCP plays) go with pearl. If you like just many types of rock go with DW, If yo like hard rock not metal but hard rock go with sonor or mapex.
the drum companies makes a lot of differents models, I mean, sonor hard rock? O.o
one of the best endosers of sonor is benny greb and he is more like jazz/funk tipe, pearl makes some drums to heavy metal (joey jordison uses pearl) cant remember the name of a mapex artist, but he is playing mapex for blues
Dw is good on all musician situations
almost all the companies are good in all situations, just get the correct tunning and heads...
it is amazing how much better the Mapex Maple shells sound than the competition. I discovered the Mapex Saturn Pro Maple sound 5 years ago and WOW! I dont care where they are made. they sound so much better than what I have heard over the last 30 years I will NEVER sell this kit!
cool vid dude was wanting to hear your snare on tho,i got a mapex pro m in bermuda had just over a year from new wood starting to harden and tighten up now got pinstripes on the toms sound wicked aquarian super kick2 on bass drum sounds like a cannon and a aquarian clear single ply head on the snare after lots of different head testing found these the best or maybe i need my head testing for being so anal lol!! keep on drumming boys !!!!!!!!
I had been playing the "ludwig" brand "silver dot" heads on my Mapex Saturn Pro kit. They sound awesome on these shells. I recently after 20 years of the same model heads switched to Evans EC2 heads. found they sound awesome on the smaller sizes 8,10,12 but not so good on the larger sizes. EC2 heads needed to be tuned tighter than most are use to to sound good. I may try thinner heads on the bottoms to make up for the deadness on the larger sized shells. Mapex the best sounding maple EVER!!!
whick is better?
tama, pearl, mapex ,evolution, power beat ,sonor , dw or maxima?
