There are cleaner, prettier and faster players but nobody can growl a simple 2 string chord like Lynch. He is the sensei motherfucking zen master of mean tone.
i don't know what it is about George's playing, but i always get mesmerized by it, i love satriani and a handful of other players for various reasons, watching interviews with george, he basically classes himself as blues guitar player, and maybe underneath all that technique, it's that blues thing that comes through and pulls people into his playing......thoughts on a postcard please, lol
@Azriel1997 Well....ture to a point. Some people (Like I) just come to look at other people's styles and techniques...although you do have a point, there are many amateurs on youtube that rely on these vids for their enhancement of knowledge.
Thanks Mr.Lynch. .. To the gentleman that left the negative remark... it is nice that Mr. Lynch takes the time to teach we non professional guitar players in the world. Thank you so very much for your inspiration and great talent my friend. Brian get real dude with all respect. Do you have or had a record label contract???
why....why..."sniff sniff" why can't music be like this today. all we get now are shit shit and more shit................ oh and a lil bit more shit added in there for flavor.
I don't know if George has his signature set of strings but apart from Eddie I know of Dave Mustaine signature ghs set called "progressives" 010 013 017 PR30 PR44 PR52 also I'm aware of Nuno Bettencourt's signature set Dean Markley it comes in two gauges 009 011 016 026 036 046 and 010 013 017 028 038 052 Both guys were very much involved in production process They had lots of input and both companies kept ears wide open
George adjusted his pickups so he gets even/equal volume output from top strings to bottom strings Top strings E1 B2 G3 are not as laud as bottom D4 A5 E6 strings His hands are strong and he applies some muscle when he plays especially live My guess is he's got at least .028 D4, .038 A5, .052 E6 If his pickups where levelled bottom strings would sound much lauder than top strings Of course this applies when he plays through amp
@tonythetemplar So that's what that is for. There is another video where his tech says he strings his guitars with like 1st thru 3rd strings from a 10 gauge set and 4th thru 6th from a 13 gauge, or something like that. I bet that first day his tech was thinking "you want me to do what?"
@sssteve72 Yeah, many guitar players mix gauges Eddie does it too You can buy his signature set If as you say George uses 4th 5th & 6th from .013 set then I think that he doesn't play in standard tuning he might be dropping half tone or even a whole tone to D Otherwise the neck would change into bow I've heard that SRV used .013 gauge set dropped half tone to E flat I once put .014 set on tele Man, after I saw what happened with the neck I took them off as fast as I could
@TheOneMetallica1 Keep in mind this is the chord progression with no overdubbed soloing and bass guitar...I mean often we can't hear this rythmn going on when he solo's over top of these chords and may be why it doesn't sound right.Just adding 2 cents, not stating I'm correct, but studio recording of a piece like makes it tough to do live, because with overdubbing one guitarist can write 3 parts or making it sound like three guitarist at once seems like cheating, but takes talent to write 3 parts.
I seen the Mob once when D'anda was druming and everyone was yellin for Mr.Scary and George was lookin around like...OK lets do it and D'anda started waving his hands behind his set like..no..no..I can't play that....it was too funny...too bad they couldn't have had a real drummer...we could have seen this masterpiece live...mabey next time George ; )
9:24 Hahah! George rocks. He just got done laying out the basic rhythm section but can't resist spicing up the hell out of it when he plays it put all together. LOL! Beginner guitar players probably aren't gonna get much out of this. It's for intermediates, I'd say.
I love this song! Finally a lesson with tab. Not many lead parts here? George rules. \m/

His tone doesn't suck. He just has more low end resonance than treble. If his tone sucked it would be like a fart-can amp.

I agree... I wonder what the idea is behind that? I've never seen them 'jacked' at such an extreme angle. Anybody, anybody???

@skullchick88 It makes the higher strings louder and with more action then the bottom ones.

The main riff of Mr. Scary and the main riff of Randy Rhoads' Crazy Train share some similarities.
QuantumStates 2 years ago
The only similarity is that it features an F#m pedal point. in the same "position" as Crazy Train.
Aurally, it's nothing like Crazy Train.
