  • hell nice .. love it

  • We have reached the point in human evolution where actions of adaptations have almost ceased - the body now hardly changes its form - and actions of conquest have taken over. The mind has come into Power.

  • @duqmiguel adaptation is not close to ceasing. we are changing everyday!! except physical capabilities is not as great a factor, it is now the brain which is evolving rapidly.

  • @b22frozenfire . . . The "Mind" has come into Power . . . not the human body. . .

  • give them all jawbreakers . . . please!

  • dank phase kam ich hierher.. sehr sehr schön!

  • Who is the woman in the picture with him?

  • @Graceshortbread Again: Its Halema !!!

  • The trumpet is definitely the best part - the vocal is alright as in not bad - just sounds as if he has a jawbreaker in his mouth.

  • @CheckMate657879 I read your comment and now I can't listen to this song without picturing the jawbreaker!

  • Jeg love this !

  • He is so amazing, have a couple of his albums, one is of his trumpet only, one of him singing. I adore his voice!!!!! Oh to have been this man's wife!!!! She is so beautiful..... I will ave to get this Autumn Leaves downloaded.

  • The song was written by Tom Adair (lyrics) and Matt Dennis (music) in late 1940; the best-known recording was Sinatra's vocal with Tommy Dorsey's orchestra in February 1941.

  • chet is my all time favourite jazz musician.

  • great post , thank u

  • beautiful! Love when his trumpet kicks in at 2:29

  • How noble is the sad heart who would sing a joyous song with joyous hearts.

  • @tfalc62: By now you may have heard an earful of suggestions, but you will not be sorry to explore John Coltrane's and Johnny Hartman's master pieces: My One and Only Love, You are Too Beautiful, In the Wee Small Hours (without Coltrane), etc. You can sample all on youtube. Enjoy!

  • @yangbener don't forget But Not For Me. seems like most people forget about that standard. especially with his amazing re-harm

  • @ tfalc62: + if you want to get a bit deeper on the cool jazz tip: wes montgomery on the riverside label! "The Incredible Jazz Guitar of Wes Montgomery" leaps to mind. also, "let's get lost", a documentary on chet, is fantastic, if rather sad, look into the life of a very talented but humanly flawed musician, and the soundtrack is stellar - think "chet baker = mickey rourke in the wrestler, but in the jazz world"

  • @ tfalc62: + if you want to get a bit deeper on the cool jazz tip: wes montgomery on the riverside label! "The Incredible Jazz Guitar of Wes Montgomery" leaps to mind

  • @ tfalc62: miles davis is the original cool jazz guy, "kind of blue" is probably his most famous album, and it's *so* good. for chet, "best of: chet baker sings" is quality start to finish, and "chet baker: embraceable you" is one of his nicest albums if you want to dig deeper than the "best of" level. fwiw he made his rep as a stellar trumpet player before he ever started singing, and "stan meets chet" with stan getz is a really nice cool jazz instrumental album he did...

  • I'm just starting to get into the cool jazz era music, mostly due to hearing this song. Can anyone recomend any other jazz musicians like Chet or the best Chet albums I could buy? Thank you, any recommendations are greatly appreciated.

  • It's been years since my divorce. I never want to see him again. Yet this song is so damnably fitting; the times in the night I find my arm groping for him.

"I fell in love just once, and then it had to be with you." Maybe jazz is the only real music, at least as you get older.

  • i love how his voice isn't too great or ovepowering. it just sounds really honest.

  • @tokenfyp I don't know any other voice , that harmonises with the trumpet so beautifully as Chets voice does with his own trumpet.

  • @NaturalBornHedonist Chet Baker's voice is great. You're comment made me think of another video, check this out, great harmonizing here too: /watch?v=PjzsnNkL-7o&list=FL6xW5MAwL3Ap8KrLqPyBoTw&index=7&feature=plpp_video

  • I've been listening for this song since years. I'll listen for it all life long as well as all Chet's songs.

  • Who's the lady in the pictures? Should I know...

  • @Okhana01 It is Chets second serious girlfriend ( wife?) Halema. She was from Pakistan!

  • @NaturalBornHedonist Chet's second wife. They had one son together, Chesney

  • This is my life lol

  • Chet interpretation of this song is one of the best..Cool jazz..Sad , sweet melancholy but it may gives just a kind of peace of mind,,

  • this is one of the few recordings that chet uses a harmon mute on the instrumental part of this song, AND I LOVE CHET BAKER!... IF HE WERE HEROIN I"D BE JUST AS HOOKED ON HIS MUSIC AS I AM NOW CLEAN AND STARTED PLAYING TRUMPET BECAUSE I DISCOVERED HIM AT A CRUCIAL TIME IN MY LIFE, SO I CAN RELATE.

  • If you like this cut, there is an album entitled "Chet Baker Sings."

  • Only Chet can sing this.

  • I feel just like the lyrics of this beautiful song

  • this song make you think even if it happens too you don't give up ever ! learn from one mistakes .... and look before you leap :)

  • I could listen to this ALL DAY LONG

  • ' Best of : Chet Baker Sings ' is a good start. Also one of my first Chet CD's was' My Funny Valentine '.

  • aw chet

  • Chet here almost sound like the reincarnation of Bunny Berigan.

  • Ya gotta admit, Chet really lived this song.

  • beautiful music...

  • Nice Jazz music video & singing from Chet Baker,5 *****..Marc Jones..Los Angeles,U.S.A.(Vocalist-pop/jazz)

  • This is the perfect to come home, have a glass of wine, check e-mails, and listen to some mellow and relaxing music. Thanks.

  • It's tracks like this that make me wish that Chet Baker & Shirley Horn had recorded together.

    Stunning!

  • I'm fond of "Embraceable You". It has a great track of the instrumental version of "Little Girl Blue" as well as some other classics. Another one is "My Funny Valentine". Whichever of his albums, particularly from the 50s you choose, you'll be hooked on Chet Baker.

  • The Best of Chet Baker Sings is really great.

  • I've only just "stumbled" upon Chet Baker and I find him amazing. Can anyone recommend me a good CD to buy of him? I don't know which of the 275 CDs I should choos...

  • How about Chet BAker in Tokyo !!! It is one of his finest performances !!!

  • Are you saying that this is a live recording? Love the song

  • @NaturalBornHedonist "Chet Baker Sings" or Chet Baker Jazzmasters are both nice introductions

  • @NaturalBornHedonist

very true, he wasn't taking any "medicine" and got stronger during the tour. with top dutch drummer John Engels and bassist Hein van de gein if I remember correctly, very sincere music on that album..

  • all of them

  • @DaveMurdoch81

Chet baker sings and plays. i dont know what the cd is called, but its one with all the ballads... Just beautiful......

  • @DaveMurdoch81

You have stumbled upon on of the many wonders of music my friend. The essentials of Chet, if you are looking for albums where he both sings and plays which are my personal favorites, get the album "Chet Baker Sings", "It Could Happen To You", and "My Funny Valentine".

  • @DaveMurdoch81 Try Chet Baker Sings. Some of those old compilations with alot of tracks are great. Tokyo would come next.

  • @DaveMurdoch81 "Best of: Chet Baker Sings" is my induction CD to Chet Baker. Can't stop listening to 'I get along without you very well'; always makes me tear. :(

  • @DaveMurdoch81 If you like Chet singing, Chet Baker Sings is a good introduction. You cannot go wrong though with any of his albums, they are all amazing, Enjoy!

  • I love this song now
