  • this song lyrics are the most realistic lyrics ever !

  • AWESOME!!!

One of the best homemade vids i have ever seen!

  • you do realize that Charlie Chaplin would be absolutely ECSTATIC about Obama's aims as a leader.

  • great job with the footage, but serious question, was that supposed to be hitler? yes or no i support his cause lol

  • @thomasiscool94 Yeah, that's Charlie Chaplin as Hitler, in the movie The great dictator. The man with the best mute films, made the best speech. :)

  • @HomeGrownAlice Just watched the movie, it's not Hitler (or Hynkel), he gets mistaken for him cause he looks just like him. Chaplin played both characters in the movie, thought I should tell you guys, didn't see anyone who did it before and I think it's kinda important. I agree, it's a great speech and I love Thrice and this song especially :)

  • this video is so so beautiful! gave me chills.

  • this is beautiful

  • This just brought A 6' 3" , 280lb, bearded texan to tears.

  • wtf bruce willis

  • ............beautiful

  • @shred12korn

Ya so does every other unelectable canidate

  • N~I~C~E Vid yo…I dig thrice but in all actuality this video rocks and has a clear message…(besides the Obama thing..but maybe that was sarcasm, yes?) Great Job! ..and I never congratulate people on youtube ..but this deserves it!

  • @HazeySeconds Obama sux

  • this video is excellent. where did the live thrice footage come from? tour/year/venue?

  • Where did that "Hitler" speech come from? I would really like to see the whole thing.

  • @TVikingsAD28 right here brother. search up the greatest speech ever made on the tube

  • @TVikingsAD28 Its Charlie Chaplin from the movie The Great Dictator

  • I'm lost on why such a meaningful video would ruin it self with signs like "Obama is our savior" inside of it. Other than that bullshit its a pretty damn good song.

  • its a really awesome vid u did well done im Gothicgyrl01 from imvu

  • I've had to create a YT profile just so that I could comment on this video. Over the years I've watched thousands of videos. Aside from the fact that I happen to Love Thrice, Dustin and the boys very much, this has to be the most amazing homemade video I've ever seen. I love it so much that I watched/listened to it at least a dozen times in the past few days and I've also shared it on my FB account as well. Well done darling. :) It's just so perfect for the song.

  • Wow! The hairs on my arms are sticking up! Going to show this to my students! Great job on the video! Thrice would be proud!

  • Brace yourself when it comes to 3:58

  • probably the best homemade music video on youtube

  • amazing

  • Wow man. Moving stuff! Good job on the video!

  • i feel good about myself knowing that ive loved thrice since identy crisis and i love this homemade video

  • @DiscoRByrno Dustin did not mention christianity. A good book to understand a bit of where Dustin is coming from is CS lewis Abolition of Man.

  • @SwayLocks its charlie Chaplin....

  • was that hitler?

  • @DiscoRByrno i know what youre saying and i agree with you but thats not the real dustin kensrue(you might already know that) because the only video that guy has is a video of a cat and a stuffed elephant. but thanks for disproving another poser

  • This always gets to me.

Seeing those helpless hungry children makes me tear up. AGH

  • Amazing homemade video of a great Thrice song......Is it just me but in the end Chaplin portrays his own character realizing his contradicting statement when he yells from the people to "Unite"....maybe I'm looking into it too much...

  • Very well done

  • very well done!

  • great video...

  • good vid

  • Chaplin looks alot like Jon Stewart with a mustache, and the sentiments are similar. I could definitely see Stewart making this speech. Just brilliant with the song.

  • The speech moved me, such conviction and power, brought forth by mere words.

  • excelente! (Y)

  • Hitler in a parallel world!

  • simplemente thrice es lo mejor

  • wow i just gotta say man that's a great f***ing video dude.... great job

  • Who is that guy who's giving the speech....it looks like it's supposed to be hitler but it's obviously not

  • @vongdeuane2 Hitler if he wasnt fucking crazy maybe?

  • @tweaker61 It is Charlie Chaplain

  • Human beings ARE like that, it is our natural state of being. Of course if you look as as simply animals, that is not true, but I think we are smart enough to be more than that. No reason to have your religion created by man poison all your thoughts Dustin...

  • @OMFGallusernamesgone Really? And what poison is this that has such a positive message and impact? You are one of those who just attack and poison conversation with your derogatory comments towards faith. Tell me, what good do you do with this? Seriously. Give me one bit of positive impact that this kind of attitude towards other people has...

  • Who's the man ?

  • @Dustinkensrue I've noticed thrice less and less on the radio. Do you think making music of substance has limited your exposure through the main stream media?

  • Comment removed

  • 0:22 made me laugh so hard.

  • @2:28 i think these two scenes are the most beautiful in the entire video

  • i love this song, so beautiful

  • this is the most beautiful video i have ever saw...you are genius <3

  • @StefBlackLesPaul religion is for the strong willed in america, and who aren't afraid of persecution. People nowadays say it's all about self expression, but you bring up Jesus and people tear you apart. Thank god there's still people like Dustin.

  • haha no way thats really Dustin Kensrue -_- , i cant believe it unless he has proof, names mean nothing

  • @Dustinkensrue you are an inspiration. Just curious, are you familiar with any of Daniel Quinn's novels, particularly "Ishmael" or "The Story of B"?

  • Beautiful.

  • I think this has become my favorite vid, awesome job! The message(s) conveyed here are fluid to me. Words and music may broadcast such a different meaning to each of us, but as long the meaning hits home to each person, then it has done it's purpose.. and we can gather from it what we may. Solid video, on all counts !!

  • Fantastic video, love the song I think the video fits the speech, "treat you like cattle, cannon fodder.." and progress for progress's sake are very pertinent and relevant in todays world. I believe if more decisions were made on science progress as well as love and empathy the world would be a better place, rather than this black white divide of science vs religion.

  • These are honestly all of my favorite things crammed into one video. If I could get a tattoo of a video, I'd have this tattooed on my forehead

  • amazing

  • Bomb edit bro. F the critics.

  • Excellent song. Humanity has no unity.

  • merry-go-round, stone, bones, we always change.

the words that when dustin sings them, it melts me to my core.

  • may I have your premission to steal this and put it on my iPod?

  • its amazing how the right words can live and carry great meaning and weight for all generations and how meaning is never lost as long as the meaning is for the good of all mankind.

  • Really good video man, even if the message of the song doesn't reflect on the video in an exact way.

  • its sad to see that Miley Cyrus has more views than this video. Thats the problem with the world. Amazing Job. Keep doing it.

  • and 720p HD, FULL SCREEN!

  • gotta watch this when youre baked,

  • This video is wonderfull.... So emotionnal... The song and the speech were almost done to be united x) No seriously what a good job, Thank you to have made this.

  • Thumbs up if you like to be high while listening this song.

  • i got so emotional on the ending of charle chaplins speech long live him thrice is awesome and so talented everyone should pray at there feeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeettttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt

  • Their are few bands today who write about social issues and human morality. Thrice is one of those bands and I'm glad you made this vid, even though it has some holes. This may allow these youtubers to experience enlightenment.

  • really enjoyed the video. but i'm still a bit bothered by "obama is our only savior". Regardless of whether or not you like what he's doing and how it's going to affect us in years to come, i think pinning one man as the savior is kind of the opposite of what the rest of the video is about. Im sure you intended it to be ironic, or maybe for us to think before ever putting one man so high up, but i just think it's a bit misleading. still a great video though.

  • Thank you... thisvideo shares my exact views and its great happy to watch it, thank you!

  • In my opinion, how the speech and the meaning of the song kind of split in two, especially at the end is what creates a brainstorm after watching it. This video creates something pretty unique, it makes you think of where did utopian speech, -any speech- really all of the great modern views, leed us to after all these years. We end at the same spot. We make a circle, and again, after another great tragedies, we go back to the roots to seek reason. For a short time, most of us.

  • Why the hell is there not a "repeat" button?

  • I have to say that I think the clips chosen don't necessarily go against the meaning of the song. While the meaning is subjective, I think that the clips speak more of the unity of man allowing us to rid the world of what ails us, namely greed and the other things mentioned in the song. To me, the song speaks more of the danger of discussion without action. Simply talking and not doing can happen in anything from tap dance theorists to aeronautical engineers.

  • música do capeta ='(

  • Did it say "obama is our saviour?"

    That is quite ridiculous...

  • Awesome Video, but why why the disgusting sound at the beginning and the End??

  • What is the movie you borrowed the scene from?

  • amazing song! Loved the video. Respect Chaplin

  • This was amazing. Great job on the video. What a powerful song.

  • <33333

  • Ah what a mighty epic scene with mighty epic words paired up with one of thrices greatest songs if there is such at thing. This was one of Meher Baba's favorite movies. He said it was the only movie he would like to see 7 times, seven being Gods number. Meher Baba was a genuine mystic of the highest of caliber.

To the members of thrice - thank you. Your music is great solace during these times.

  • Ah what a mighty epic scene with mighty epic words. This was one of Meher Baba's favorite movies. He said it was the only movie he would like to see 7 times, seven being Gods number. Meher Baba was a genuine mystic of the highest of caliber.

  • Amazing!

  • Charlie Chaplin is awesome

  • i enjoyed it :) great message. really ambient music fit the whole thing!

  • Really really great job on this video, it moved me alot. I'm impressed.

And by the way, is beggars the last studio album ever that thrice made?

    That pretty much sucks...

  • Great video. Thrice is so amazing. This is the kind of song and video that makes me want to make a positive difference in the world. The entire Beggars album is full of inspirational lyrics and this song is a great example.

  • To human is to hate. Unfortunately, there is no way around it.

Our core emotion is jealousy, which breeds hatred, which breeds death.

Either way, this is my new favorite song. I've been listening to it constantly since I put this CD on my Evo and FINALLY bought a good headset. It's a beautiful song.

  • @Dustinkensrue - On the contrary, I see the message of the speech that Science and Progress are the very things that decayed mankind. "More than machinery, we need humanity." Of course technology can fall under this category, so I believe that the speech is perfectly viable.

Other than that, if you ARE the real Dustin, I salute to you for all of the wonderful things that you've done for this music industry.

  • this video is so great...

  • That was amazing.

  • that is the real dustin by the way, the video he has uploaded is linked directly to his tumblr account, which is on thrice dot net.

  • @jimv11 w0w... I am really prouder that way!

  • i'll tell you what. i've seen a lot of people make homemade music videos to a lot of good music, but this is the first one i've seen that doesn't suck. for that i commend you

  • this video is absolutely amazing. it gave me chills through and through.

  • That was pretty good. Better than mine, haha.

  • Very creative juxtaposition. Unfortunately the speech is at complete odds with the message of the song as it talks of Science and Progress saving us, when the song specifically warns against the lure of progress in the name of progress. A worldview needs a foundation for making such claims, one that is stronger than "human beings are like that." Obviously, they are not all like that, which is why we have problems. A naturalistic worldview cannot support such lofty goals.

  • @Dustinkensrue if you are the real Dustin you should rule the world. No more to add.

  • @Dustinkensrue he talks about "thinking 2 much & feeling 2 little" exactly what "your" song echos in the "we talk 2 much in circles" line. he talks about kindness & how we needn't fear because the earth can provide 4 all of us The speech is from charlie chaplan's "the Great Dictator" it was all about making fun of hitler...basically 2 his face since it was made in 1940

"dont give yourselves to these... machine men with machine hearts" It all fits perfectly w/ the song. Job well done 2 MRALX85

  • @Dustinkensrue I'm not so sure it is as odds. The speech isn't really about progress, it is the reversal. It is stating not necessarily that we should build machines... instead that we shouldn't be machines. In this they are complimentary.

  • @Dustinkensrue Ah a man after my own heart =)

God bless you don't know how many you've gotten me through

    read Chesterton much? =)

  • @Dustinkensrue it was passionate none the less, sometimes you dont have to have a reason but just enjoy it...i know i did.

  • @Dustinkensrue I agree that not all humans are like that. However, I don't believe that science and progress are always "progress in the name of progress." Science is just a tool to help us better understand world. That is all. And it is only as good as the people doing the research. Right now, the people who have the money to conduct science don't have the well being of humanity in mind, they have money in mind.

  • @Dustinkensrue, I love your music, but I think that is bunch of crap. I hope you can tell that same message with straight face to the billion or so people still living in poverty and disease around the world. I wonder how many Les Paul's and Telecasters are available in Asia/Africa and the rest of the undeveloped world? Cali is great, isn't it?

  • @Dustinkensrue I love Thrice. Really the new album Major/Minor is amazing. But i was wonderring : Why are the americans so attached to the religion ? In Europe we were so attached many many many years a go bu now, we really don't take an interest for it. Are the atheist hated in the USA ? What is the subject Thrice is talking about in the new song "Yellow belly" ? Please respond, it's really stressing me all that stuff.

BTW the video is wonderful, On of the best i've ever sean =)

  • Wow.....

  • good job. the end was epic lol

  • Very creative. Awesome video overall.

  • Very creative. Awesome video overall.

  • Wow great video! It's easy to see that you built the video around the song and you really did a good job of doing that.

  • That was awesome. Really enjoyed it.

try something with this sir...i have faith in you.=)
