TECHNICALLY SPEAKING, love at first sight does sorta exist because when you first see someone you want to have lots of sex and babies with, your brain releases two hormones called dopamine and neureponephrine (sp?) which give you the desire to get nekkkidd with this particular person.
ooh, get me with my charlieissocoollike knowledge (a)
I do not believe in love at first sight. I believe in lust at first sight. I think there's a difference. You can lust, but cannot love someone at first sight, that comes from experiences.
@MsLebbel I think it depends on how you define love, for example some people define it as any type of sexual attraction to a particular person but others think it is a deep emotional connection. The truth is even though the word "love" is used a lot, it can actually be a very subjective thing and based on our own definition....Well that's what I think anyway :/
@FordIsInTheRoom There is a great bit when he apparently says " Johanna before you fly was the possum that you could get your stuff with" You have to laugh...
its actually love at first sniff coz people let out these smells that make people want to fall in love with other people and the problem is if people where deodrant it messes with this and makes people fall for the people wearing deodrant.
Haha, it's not just guys who tend to size up everyone who walks past. Even so, I wouldn't call merely finding someone attractive love. Love develops over time. You couldn't say 'I love you' to some hot random on the street, no matter how much you want to make babies with them.
I agree. I feel as if people have this emotional short term memory and don't accept the fact of how things are and were. We romanticize and villian-ize so often that we forget the basics of attraction and what was really going on.
I love how there are loads of comments on this about how you're cynical. However, I think you're very positive in this video. For me, love at first sight DOES NOT EXIST. At first sight, that feeling is called lust. I've dated people who when I first met them/saw them, I had no interest in them at all or sometimes I was completely put off by them. Fact.
Well done you! You've made a video about a topic I've been trying to explain to people for the last 2 weeks. Now if only you'd make a video about how there has to be a level of physical attraction in love my life would be so much easier.
Talking about human nature and stuff until 5am, and our conclusion was "Love at first sight is just when she turns out not to be a bitch." - Miss all of you guys. Come back now. <3
i love this. i tried to explain something like this to someone once but i couldn't get it out. so, if this ever comes up again, i'm just going to show them this video. thank you.
Well, I think nobody says, "Oh, it was love at first sight when I met that bitch I broke up with two days ago" because "love at first sight" has a positive connotation to it. It's magical, fantastical, and possibly other -ical words. It might have been love at first sight. But it's a much more powerful and moving story when that love at first sight lasted. It's all about diction. You are right however in the sense that through that pre-conceived notion nobody thinks of love at first sight anymo
1) i'm gonna go ahead and pray you dont remember who i am and 2) thaaat was lovely, i now have another thing to poorly explain to my friends who'll then give me a weird look and move on. enjoyed it xD
I know some people are arguing lust/love. But I think you're referring to more of the feelings, and I agree. It's a chemical reaction. The love that makes a relationship last is a self-sacrificing choice, not a feeling. But what you're talking about, yep. Love at first sight. I agree.
I think "lust/attraction at first sight" is probably a more accurate term because it takes time to love people. But i can think of one relationship where it was attraction at first sight and turned out to be crazy so yeah. Eyes are deceiving.
I think it depends on your definition of love. I think there is definitely attraction at first sight and lust at first sight, but I think that love develops over time. Love generally isn't what you feel when you first see someone attractive, but may develop after being with someone for a while.
hmm this is an interesting thought. I think that is more attraction at first sight, because I don't think love comes until a relationship is built. such as the relationship moves out of social exchange processes and stuff like that, therefore love at first sight would not be existent. But I do agree that people are in love with people at times even if it doesnt work out and that should not be devalued just because of a relationship ending.
Some people like to say "if can never have loved, you either love or you don't." Meaning that if two people break up, it was never love and that love has to last forever. Bullshit.
I agree completely

So many people think of 'lvoe at first sight' as romantic, or true love.
I think it's just really shallow.
Saying you love someone based solely on their looks.
