This was the fastest carousel I ever rode. The two girls must have turned it up to the 30 mph speed. Hope to see it soon redone when Luna Park reopens...NYC bought it to save it for the park.
For those who are fans of the B&B Carousell, it is expected back in Coney island by 2011 in all likelihood in restored glory. I'll never forget riding the carousel while Mike Saltzstein operated it. He was not an easy man to deal with many times. If he liked you, he usually treated you well unless he was in a bad mood. I had an unfavorable incident with him in 1999 when he was angry with me without provocation. He did make up with me and I saw him last a little shy of 6 weeks before his death.
