It seems like Otis forgot the lyrics to the beginning of verse 3..."Sittin' here restin' my bones".
He sings, "Sittin' here" followed by some garbled words. I love actual audio of the recording session that shows the fun they had and the interaction between I guess the recording engineer and Otis.
Great stuff!! I only wish someone would have had a movie camera in the studio to capture Otis in session........I would imagine this was done somtime in late '67.
such a cool version! i had this on a mag i used to buy named soul cd, it only got to 10 issues then stopped publishing but you got a great cd once a month lol, great post!

Great song. Want this played at my funeral as my friends drink a beer in my honor.

Play this on my funeral by way of last wish.
That's it and thanks for sharing this brilliant piece of Redding.
It is said that he didn't like the song at first -
glory be to the songwriter and whoever else got Redding to perform this.

@cocochanelleke Not sure where you heard that from.. The song was written by Otis, with Steve Cropper, like most of his songs

Glad to hear this.
By the way -
I used to put singers and musicians on a pedestal - which is no good for anyone really.
