My grandfather suffered of cancer too, but unlike yours, he started forgetting things about a week later after he got out of the hospital and not three weeks later he passed away, and please, savor the moments you got with him, because you never know when they won't be there anymore. My grandfather/Mother died Fighting Nazis in World war 2. My Father does not remember his Parents. No Picture ever made.

All he knows was that he was raised by Government as a hero kid.
