25k to adopt from Ethiopia, free to a few hundred to adopt one of the many needy children in America. In fact, Canada/ Europe have found that American kids are healthy, because without money, you can get prenatal care and food. and they are the easiest and cheapest to adopt. It is rare to find out that the adoption was a scam. 25k brings out a lot of scams. Further, the African ideal of adoption is very different from the west. Adopt to them mean you care for a child a while, and give it back.
@rosey312 The west failure to understand that a parent that never gets to see his child again in Africa and in some Latin countries, would become resentful of us, is due to the fact that we come into countries like bulls in a china shop, not stopping to find out the culture and then are shocked when the people get angry with us. Many of these parents expect that their child will be educate and returned to them. When the kids are older and find out they not going back they get angry too.
Adoption is legalized child trafficking,Then there was the recent revelation of adoption agency Wereldkinderen that Ethiopian 'orphans', adopted by Dutch parents, appear to have Ethiopian parents that are very much alive. The agency based its conclusions upon a study done by ACT. As a result Wereldkinderen temporarily stopped adoptions from Ethiopia.

@thesouthrapsucks Can't get 25k for and American child. It is called trafficking. Also, people in America have the ideal that if it is not from America, it must be better. And the physical aspect can't be ignored as the children from northern Ethiopia, where most of the kids on the video are from, look lighter/more arab or mixed race, where the one boy at 3:50 is from the south, and is "more stereotypically" African looking, for lack of a better word.
@rosey312 why would someone adopt based on looks? in america a Ethiopian is going to deal with the same prejudices as an african american, and they are typically no lighter. I think people are adopting for the wrong reasons, it's not so much about having a family but more about making in investment so when you are old you can have someone to care for you, that should not be what adoption is about.
@Miikaika25 True, but I have first hand witnessed whites change their behavior/opinion of someone with black/brown skin when they say that they are Haitians, Cuban, or even African even when they are born in the US. There are whites who would not adopt a US black child, who will adopt one from Brazil. It is a difficult mindset to understand. The northern Ethiopian are lighter with sharper features than the southern people. See Matilda's log from Dec, 09, Ancient descriptions of ancient Egyptians.
The apartheid regime in Ethiopia had sold over 3000 Ethiopian children in the name of adoption in 2009. Each child was sold for $30,000, and background check was not required on the would-be buyers. Many of the children wound up in the hands of child molesters in the West.
Recently, authorities in Salt Lake City, Utah have arrested the founder of an Ethiopian orphanage, Lon Harvey Kennard, on child molestation charges for molesting the 6 children he had purchased from the regime in Ethiopia.
@terriakabooty the price is high and i often wonder why people choose to adopt international over the many children who are waiting in the corrupt U.S. system, however you have to understand the high price prevents child trafficking and other horrors that come along when people get things for cheap or free, imagine if it only cost $500 to get a child? or even free? it would be all too tempting for those who want to do nothing but harm, so when you think about it, the price is fair.
please do not bring any more filthy ugly wretched mini nigger seeds here to america. we have enough crim filled nigger ghettos. hasnt white man given up enough? die nigger scum!
25,000 I was planning on adopting from there, there is no way i could aford that I don't understand why its so much in order to bring a child out of poverty what about the people who want to be able to give a child a good loving home it seems to me they only want rich people to be able to do that it seems to me its not even about the child its about the money even here its a shame what the world is but yall are great people for helping to give to children a brand new life godbless you!!!!!!!!!

most people who adopt learn a lot about the complex and sensitive issues that come along with adopting. They also (should) learn how to deal with and help the children deal with them. Having a natural child can be sensitive and complex issue too.
I believe in Miracles, but the lord has done great things for us? How? Taken parents away from their children, made them orphans? How is that joyful. How could their be war and hungry and orphaned children if there is a just God. Come on. Let's wake up and take care of each other.
I am only 24, but my dream is to adopt for various countries. Hopefullly one day I will. I do not have the desire to be married. Will that make it harder for me? If so. I will probably save my money from my nursing career and move to the country.
adoption is not all good u know. children who are adopted can suffer from serious psychological issues. international adoption is no different. adopt 'for' various countries? research b4 u do anything. ur taking a child away from what he or she knows, fomr his country and his friends. its not as beautiful as u think it is.
honey we all have issues. And life isn't all that beautiful either, but God is and he will see me through any situation. With all the crap i,ve been through in life, i should have been some kind of crazy lady walkin around cursing to the voices in my head. a child with a mind issue deserves no less love. I might just aim for one that has a particular issue. i am used to it. I have family that suffer from these things
What a beautiful video! You have 4 gorgeous children! My husband & I have just started the process to adopt from Ethiopia, and we are SO excited! Thank you for posting this. God bless y'all!
your children are SO beautiful! Congratulations on stepping into the unknown and trusting God and His processes to create the means for this to happen!
Your family is a true inspiration to all of us who are beginning the adoption journey!
Your video is so encouraging to me! That is one my favorite songs and we are waiting for a child in Ethiopia! Still going through the home study process. Thanks.
This Video was Amazing!!! It has been my dream to adopt since I was 12, I am now 19, and this video has greatly incouraged me!! Faith in God is key! God Bless Your Family and Your Future^_^
This video is wonderful. I live in Virginia and my husband & I are looking into adopting from Ethiopia. Did you go through an Adoption agency? Congrats on your beautiful children. May GOD bless you!!!
I notice how the little boy & girl from Ethiopia look sad in the first pictures, but as the story progresses, they are all smiles and you can see them growing in strength and spirit and happiness. What a wondrous difference you have made in their lives!
I was moved to the point of tears. What a beautiful video. We are looking into adopting a child or 2 from Ethiopia. It is so wonderful to see pictures, videos, and read stories from others who have already gone through the process. Thanks so much for sharing this video with the world!!
I'm a single 40 year old woman that really wants to adopt a baby but I don't have a lot of money. I have worked at a hspital for 13 years and I'm a very loving woman and would make a great mother to a little darling abby girl. Do you have any pointers? Thanks a lot and congratulations
There is no reason you should not be able to adopt. My husband and I are looking to go to Ethiopia. If you are single you would only have to make about $11,000/yr to be eligible. (125% of the poverty guidelines). Go for it this children need loving families.
look on the internet for an agency in your state that works with international adoption. Then call them up or email and ask to go to an informational meeting or seminar. Be as prepared as you can be before hand. There are a lot of couples and you might feel out of place. All the same stick around and get a grip on the process. Ask questions, talk to people, the agency can hook you up with people to talk to. Good Luck!!
Isn't it interesting that there are virtually no Muslim babies in any country up for adoption. An entire extended family raises the child, no matter how impoverished.
I wish this was true, unfortunately orphanages worldwide would sadly have to show you the Muslim children inside their walls with no family to care for them. Many of my childrens freinds from their orphange came from Muslim homes.
well that has to do with the fact that alot of muslim-majority countries dont really like having kids(in the country) being adopted by foreigners and non-muslims.
i looked it up
as for muslim babies.....i dont really know what a muslim baby is seeing as how babies dont have religion :S
I have a question. me and my partner are interested in adoption. And what is the way you choose to adopt? Like were u with a special agent or something? - Dadi Jaan
Im all in favor of adopting Ethiopian children! However to convert them to christianity if they were raised as Muslims is wrong. Im Roman Catholic, we must respect diversity.
When it comes to helping children thou... money should never be involved. Or you get what is happening in North America right now: A mess where families are being torn apart for profit.!!
Great video. God bless you for being willing to care for the helpless. Your reward will be great in heaven. Where about in NC do you live? I am form NC as well
I noticed that some kids had Muslim names. Are you taking poor Muslim children and striping them of their faith? I'm all for adoption but not for taking away the identity of children. Leave them in peace.
the children we adopted were raised Orthodox, Muslims do share several "names" with the Orthodox church, they are just pronounced differently when spoken, but they read the same.
Beautiful; it took a lot of patience and waiting on the Lord to bring these two home! Congratulations and thank you for sharing your journey with the world.
I love it.....Being a adoptee and biracial this video fills my heart with lots of joy and love for your growing family. MAY GOD ALWAYS BE WITH YOU AND YOURS...." YOU AND YOUR WIFE ARE PHENOMENAL"
Congrats! We just adopted our 2 boys on September 27th 2007. It is such a beautiful and wonderful feeling. They are from Sudan and what makes it more amazing is that the baby looks like me! What a blessing!!
Wow wonderful loving family. I couldn't stop smiling at the same time been emotional. That is true love and care. We all Ethiopian should do this to our people we shouldn't wait to others to do it for us. Thank you God bless you and your family you doing good job Bless!!
those children are beautiful, thank god they have a loving family; i have ethiopia in my background and i'm wondering how i can help my country or africa in general; i feel like i want to adopt from ethiopia
Ya'll have such a beautiful and wonderful family! God did an awesome job in providing ya'll with money to save Mihret and Yosef and to bring them into a loving family. I especially love the picture of the four of them with the girls hugging and laughing and the boys with the soccer ball. It's a great picture. What are ya'll celebrating when ya'll are dressed up?
Oh! This is a nice song revealing your good deeds.
I appreciated your generous sharing from your families pocket and showing what LOVE means. Your a typical and practical follower and lover of Jesus ,the son of GOD. My last word, the full blessing of God set upon you & your family.
This is the true picture of Christianity and I appreciate the way you portrait for us in a beautiful and interesting way. God is great and on whom he prevails his work is a blessed. So indeed you and your family are saints. when this world becoming more selfish and when hate raise beyond imagination, to see such loving and caring human is unspeakable. I only have three words for you. God bless you.
Boy!!!i couldn't help it, but to be emotional. These kids are truely lucky to find such a Loving christian family. Please don't mind the haters..they need JESUS CHRIST so,let's pray for them.I love the song too.
Indeed with God all things are possible. Wow may God reward you for the kindness you show to the orphans. Again may God use you any ways for his glory in His son our Lord Jesus Christ. God bless your house in every directions.
Truly Gods love shines through you. I can tell you I thank God and my American family for sponsoring me to come to the US. Because of them I was able to live freely, get good education and be able to go back and help my people. I cried when I viewed your story. Please know that what a blessing you are to God and for the future of your new adopted kids. Thank you for sharing your home and your heart!!!
As I approch going to MD for the adoption of our son,I pray to God to be with us and watching your stopy has given me such hope, compadence and a feeling of joy.God bless your family.
youw hite monsters leave black people alone....YAWAH WILL PUNISH YOU. YOU WANT TO KEEP TEACHING YOU STUPID WHITE TRACH TO BLACK CHILDRENSO WHEN THEY GROW UP THE WILL NOT HAVE CULTURE LIKE YOU WHITE BASTARDS.
Wow!! I can't stop crying..... I can image how they are happy now!! thank you for helping my people.. god will do double to you. please teach them about their country, people, their history and help them not to forget Amharic... you can find Ethiopians in Ethiopian orthodox Church in North C. Thank you very much and god bless your family!!
I'm so very happy for your COMPLETE family. You have great passion and trust in God and that is something to admire. I Stumbled onto your blog last year and I'm sure you have been told this many times but, descriptive details of your trip in Ethiopia had me in stitches. So Thanx and God bless.
I am in tears. What a beautiful story and you have a beautiful family. My family is in the process of adopting from Ethiopia as well. This helps with the wait seeing such a wonderful thing that the Lord has done and is going to do for us. Thank you.

well that has to do with the fact that alot of muslim-majority countries dont really like having kids(in the country) being adopted by foreigners and non-muslims.
i looked it up
as for muslim babies.....i dont really know what a muslim baby is seeing as how babies dont have religion :S

Im all in favor of adopting Ethiopian children! However to convert them to christianity if they were raised as Muslims is wrong. Im Roman Catholic, we must respect diversity.

What your doing there is great. This is what adoption is for. Not the profiteering North American Psychopaths who use adoption to traffic children.
What your doing is great!!!
My hats off to these guys!!!! I always say so much negative about CPS and adoption. It's nice to be able to something nice about it!
Bizziboy 4 years ago
When it comes to helping children thou... money should never be involved. Or you get what is happening in North America right now: A mess where families are being torn apart for profit.!!
Again what your doing is great!

I noticed that some kids had Muslim names. Are you taking poor Muslim children and striping them of their faith? I'm all for adoption but not for taking away the identity of children. Leave them in peace.
Lazerguy5 4 years ago
the children we adopted were raised Orthodox, Muslims do share several "names" with the Orthodox church, they are just pronounced differently when spoken, but they read the same.
