If you made a wrong decision because you thought David Koresh really wasn't the Messiah and it turned out he was and so this god drowned you and your children, would that be fair? But it's not terribly believable. If I were dying from thirst, I would die. People have died of thirst. If god is no resepecter of persons, and loves everyone equally, why would he allow anyone to die of thirst? Some he does, some he doesnt. If you made a wrong decision because you thought David Koresh really wasn't the Messiah and it turned out he was and so this god drowned you and your children, would that be fair? God spoke only to Noah...not the people. Noah talked to the people. It would only be logical that they wouldn't believe him when it had never rained before (which in and of itself is ridiculous). And no, it doesn't count regarding Pharoah having killed 100's of Jewish people.

@sharpeeye1975 Cont'd (sorry). It doesn't count because God had hardened Pharoah's heart. In other words he set him up to fail. YHWH was clearly a god for the Jews and no one else. Is it likely that he was real? Or more likely that he was written into the story books by Jewish sages of the day who wanted to control the people and rule the land? < I think with all the problems in the Tanakh, (OT) the latter is much, much more likely. It happened then, and continues today.The greed for land.

But it's not terribly believable. If I were dying from thirst, I would die. People have died of thirst. If god is no resepecter of persons, and loves everyone equally, why would he allow anyone to die of thirst? Some he does, some he doesnt. And you just accept that because it's in the story book of Jews.

"Righteous Lot" was a drunken sloth himself, and slept with his two daughters, etc. So THAT god - as he was written is a bit perverse anyway. It's chock full of mythology i.e. pillar of salt. I think even the most religious person can agree that that is mythological to it's core.
