This scene shows that Kawee cares a lot about what Rin thinks of him. He obviously doesn't want her to think he killed his dad. But Rin's too hurt by everything right now and understandably so. The tearing of the necklace and walking away from him shows she's willing to have a new life away from it all :) I say that she may be a vulnerable character, but she's strong, too.
