Ive been to sorrento and this volcano is amazing i climbed it and when i got to the top, wow i cant belive it used to be twice as big 0_o that must have been one huge volcan o...but then it destroyed pompeii!!!!!

@TheJUGGALOJeff Hey guess what it erupted 2000 years before AD 79 and in AD 203, 472, 787, 968, 991, 999, 1007, and 1036. Then it was quiet till 1631 a deadly eruption claiming 3000 lives occured. Then again it erupted in 1660, 1682, 1694, 1698, 1707, 1737, 1760, 1767, 1779, 1794, 1822, 1834, 1839, 1850, 1855, 1861, 1868, 1872, 1906, 1926, 1929, and 1944. This is footage of the 1944 eruption so Vesuviu didn't just erupt in AD 79 its just the most famous eruption.
